TWRP for Root para LENOVO TAB 2 A10-30 TB2 X30F??? - Thinkpad Tablet General

Good afternoon, wanted to rootear a tablet, specifically the TWRP for Root model for LENOVO TAB 2 A10-30 TB2 X30F with a TWRP that I can not find anywhere, I know that for other Lenovo devices there is TWRP, but specifically for mine I do not I find nowhere.
They would be kind enough to tell me if there is a possibility of installing some files of these characteristics via img or via fastboot mode.
I would be very grateful.
Thank you in advance.

There are couple TWRP releases which work on propably on Lollipop release on TAB 2 A10-30. You can find threads when use search here at XDA
Those work also with Marshmallow release but i could not install supersu via them.

[Unbrick][Stock] Yoga Tab 3 - How to unbrick, and restore to stock.

I work at a shop and someone brought me a Yoga Tab 3 8" tablet that was on a screen that asked for an original google account.
It was purchased without much thought because i figured it was just part of the setup.
No this is actually a Device Protection feature google has had since Lollipop apparently.
There is a way around it if anyone is interested or is in a soft brick that they can access the recovery from.
NOTE :
THIS IS FOR THE YOGA TAB 3 8" YT3-850F ONLY!!!!! I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU DESTROY YOUR TABLET! PLEASE BE CAREFUL. DO NOT FLASH ANYTHING FOR WRONG MODEL. CONFIRM YOUR MODEL NUMBER BY LOOKING ON THE BACK STICKER BEFORE PROCEEDING.
You will need :
A Computer
A Micro SD Card and Adapter
A couple of hours time
Patience...
Patience........
Firstly, as always, make sure the device is charged before attempting any of this please.
Download the stock firmware from This Link.
Do not extract the firmware at all or rename it, just leave it as it is, it will take about an hour to download.
After you have the firmware downloaded move the zip file to the root of the MicroSD Card on the computer.
Eject the SDCard from the computer and put it into the Yoga Tab.
Reboot into recovery by pressing Power and Vol+ let go of Power when you see the Lenovo logo.
Once in recovery go ahead and do a factory reset/data wipe.
The next step is to actually flash the zip you put on the MicroSD earlier. You go down to apply update from SD using the Volume + and -
buttons. Power to select an option. Select the Zip you downloaded from this guide.
it will take approximately 20-30 minutes to fully install the update. after it installs it will boot up like new again, with no Google Device Protection, and it is a possible way to unbrick!
Hello, Where did you find this firmware? I'm looking for Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 YT3-X50F. Thanks

It looks like a modified package from China. I successfully installed the zip file. After rebooting, the version noted was YT3-X50F_S000022_150714_PRC (which I presumed to be People's Republic of China). The update zip does not contain any Google apps (including Play Store).

That's correct; but you can just flash the Gapps 5.1.1 ("mini" package) from Cyanogenmod (that's what I did); and then once you've got superSU installed, remove the non-North American "store" apps ^_^

Sorry for the delay in my response, but yes, this is correct. Just flash the Google apps and you will be good to go. I'm not sure where I found the firmware but there is a link there to the download. I'm pretty sure I just dug around google alot and found a post to the firmware somewhere else on XDA but to tell you the truth it was actually really difficult for me to get google apps installed and working properly and this firmware sometimes would not flash it would just sit there saying opening update.zip for hours. Good thing the battery life on that thing was amazing.

A good starting point for this is to look into rooting and get a custom recovery. Then you can flash zip files, such as google play store.

You can flash the TWRP for the x50M and then install google apps. The recovery will not stay - it will revert back to stop recovery. Search XDA for TWRP-2.8.7.7_YT3-X50M.zip
Recover, install recovery, root
BEFORE ANYTHING.... unlock your bootloader
Install Drivers for Lenovo Tablet, So Adb can see your device
Open your Adb Command Windows (windows)
Commands!
Adb Devices ------- this should return a device Id # ... if it doesn't your drivers are not correct ....
Adb Reboot bootloader -------- this Should take you to the Big Lenovo Screen (it will stay there, this is fastboot mode)
Fastboot Devices ------- This Should Return The Device Id (except fastboot Device Id #)
Fastboot Oem unlock-go ------- This Should Unlock Your bootloader (allow flashing of custom firmwares, boot images, recoverys etc) THIS WILL WIPE YOUR DEVICE!!!!!!!!!
After unlocking bootloader
Flash this Stock Firmware (if you haven't already)
This is FULL STOCK FIRMWARE ... not an OTA zip...

Custom Built TWRP by Me... Enjoy
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1d...ew?usp=sharing
(this was based off the Twrp source that metalchef mentioned)
I recommend BOOTING it through fastboot if your only planning on flashing a few things and taking a single backup here and there... if you flash zips ALOT ... then just flash it ...
Fastboot Boot Recovery.img (this is the command you need inside of fastboot for booting recovery)
Fastboot flash recovery recovery.img (this is to flash recovery to tablet)
#Note# you need to put the recovery.img inside your adb folder... or drag and drop it to command window after typing "fastboot boot"
This will allow it to boot from any file path ....
To Gain Root ... Use Kingoroot , Un-intall the Superuser that kingoroot gives you ... get supersu (chainfire) from market and update the binary....
or flash supersu.zip through recovery
( I haven't tried to flash supersu because kingoroot worked) and ive exhausted so much time on the recovery ... im going to take a break ...
Afterwards .... You SHOULD have the device your seeking....

X800 Hard brick

Hello,
my brand new X800 hard bricked last night while flashing the first custom ROM: it ended the process in TWRP 3.0.1 and screen shut down never to light up anymore.
When I connect it to the PC it gets recognized as a Qualcomm device in 9008 state, I managed to find a lot of flashing tools which actually finds the COM port used by that but I don't have the RUU/Fastboot ROM/whatever files I need to revive the device. I read in LeMe USA forums that LeTV won't offer an unbrick tool (http://forum.le.com/us/index.php?th...back-to-life-a-hard-bricked-dead-x800-pro.264), can somebody help me out on that? I found this Chinese forum and you can see a screenshot of a "Letv flash tool"but I can't understand how to get that (http://bbs.ydss.cn/thread-627786-1-1.html).

Fine, I got to download the files from another link!
Here you can find the recovery package, the flasher, qcom drivers and adb/fastboot+android drivers:

Same problem.
I also have the same problem. I think Qfil rom was not correct. If the rom version is correct, it might work.
Hi, I have talked with cuoco92 (known ROM cooker) and he told me the reason for these bricks and how we maybe can unbrick them. For that we need the file emmc_appsboot.mbn from the LeTV X800 US version. Unfortunately there is nowhere to download the US firmware, and it seems that LeTV will also not help to share it. So that's why the only way is if someone is going to extract it from a working LeTV X800 US version.
The reason why the QFIL method doesn't work is that the firmwares files are only for the Chinese version, and that will not work on the US version. So the method will always fail. Actually I got a step further with the QPST/QFIL connection where it actually succeeded in connecting to the Sahara protocol, saying "Sahara protocol completed" and "Switch To FireHose" ** All is well ** SUCCESS!! but it all ended up with another error as it later again couldn't connect to the port, and I got Download Fail:FireHose Fail FHLoader Fail: Proess fail....
The reason for the brick in the first place is that all the guides on how to install TWRP etc. on the net are made for the Chinese LeTV X800, if someone tries it on the LeTV X800 US version it will end up bricking the phone completely. So beware if the guides doesn't specific say that it also works on the US version then don't try to flash or modify anything!

OK, thanks for this Info. I will get my new LETV One Pro 01.06 or 02.06. I ordered it via efox-shop.com. And when I look at the images on their web site, i see a CE sign at the back. So if it is a US version and some could tell me how to extract this file without bricking it, I can do the extraction of this file "emmc_appsboot.mbn"...
Please note I had no issues flashing TWRP via fastboot, flashing supersu and xposed zips from TWRP and using xposed modules. Problems rise flashing ROMs since both official LeTV and custom ones have a firmware-update folder inside, I think if you delete that folder from zip you can flash ROMs just fine. On my HTC One m7, custom ROMs never have that folder.
EDIT: confirmed just now, erasing that "firmware-update" folder in the zip and flashing it you won't brick.

Hi guys! I also bought my x800 via e-fox and was able to brick it using the wrong rom. I found some files on androidbrick with no password needed to download. Do you think they'll work? I wish i could paste link to the files but I can't since this is my first post on xda
Same problem here. Tried to flash the cuoco92 twrp recovery and got the penguin screen. I solved flashing the original twrp. After I tried to flash cuoco 92 rom but got the Black screen.

First flashed twrp 3.0.2. than your rom 10s, then the screen went Black. My phone is an us version.
We're all in the same boat guys, waiting for some miracle to happen... But since it's mostly in LeEco/LeTV US hands I won't hold my breath, they told that MAYBE and IN THE FUTURE they would provide some help to us, ill fated users.

@viperdream26: I think it was .013S version from http://bbs.le.com/zt/eui/le_pro1.html I got TWRP 3.0.2 via fastboot flash recovery recovery.img, flashed SuperSu and Xposed zips and used the phone for a couple of days with no issues. The I decided to flash, I went into recovery and flashed the ROM zip but as soon as TWRP ended the process it didn't reboot as it usually does and screen went black, not to light up anymore in any way. Tried long pressing power (more than a minute each time...) and any volume button together but nothing happens. Finally tried QFIL way (and also letv_flash_tool.exe and any flasher out there) but I either get an error while flashing ("Device is not in firehose mode" in QFIL) or I miss some file to launch the process (with MiFlash and such). Thanks for any help you can give, just ask if you need more background!
@viperdream:
Thank you!
I had the .011 us version (but I didn't know my phone was US). I tried to install Cuoco92 TWRP 3.0.2 with the adb tool provided but when the phone reboot I got a black screen with a penguin. So I went on the official TWRP page and followed the procedure to install TWRP via ADB. It worked. After this I made a rom backup (including efs and everything else), wiped and installed Cuoco92 .013 rom and got the black screen.

I got my LeTV One Pro yesterday. I wanted to install TWRP 3.0.2 only via the ADB procedure.
1. Downloaded the TEAMWin Code Name: x1 TWRP.img 3.0.2
2. adb reboot bootloader (Phone rebooted into the pinguin mode)
3. Then I wanted to execute the next command: fastboot flash recovery twrp.img: But the phone automatical reboots out of the Pinguin mode.
It stays there after the first adb command for approx: 3-5sec. before rebooting into normal mode.
So no chance to execute the described 2nd adb command to flash the recovery twrp image.
any ideas ?
BTW: My phone was delivered with a kind of international EUI 5.5.011S(Stable) OS and I could also select German as Default Language. Google Play Store and Apps were already installed. Android Version is 5.0.2. It seems thatz the describe procedures on the web are not functioning with this device. The OS has also no OTP Software Update menu, but I see with ES Explorer a inside the emulated storage folder 0 a log named "last_ota.log".
Did you try switching off your phone and turning it on long pressing power+ vol up to boot in bootloader? Or maybe it was vol down, sorry I bricked and I can't remember exactly which combination boots to recovery and which one to bootloader.

I did that on a Lenovo K33A48 which would equal the marketing name "Lenovo K6 Vibe" so both bootloader's unlock commands seem to be identical.
Sidenote: Unlocking the bootloader wiped my device's /data partition, not sure if that's supposed to happen but this was just a dumb test-phone for my company anyways so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It could be that they all share the same bootloader, unusual but makes sense if you want to spend less on it.
I would've done it already if there was a way to unbrick the phone, but not even the Lenovo software seems to have an option to recover any of the k6 phones, let alone by other ways.
Is TWRP working fully on it? Also, did you managed to root it?

TWRP works nicely. It can access quite a lot of partitions (a lot more than on my HTC One M8 anyways): Aboot, Boot, Recovery, Splash, System Image, System, Preload, Persist, Cache, Data, Modem, Firmware-Update, Efs, Mrd Data. And they're all showing meaningful sizes. A backup of them all works nicely and installing SuperSU.zip using TWRP worked on the first try as well so yes, it's easily rootable if you can tolerate having your /data-partition wiped (= factory reset = do a backup first)

I can't post links yet so sorry if you have to copy+paste below but that method just worked for me:
1. Unlock Bootloader: raphsonbd.com/unlock-bootloader-lenovo-k6-power
2. Custom TWRP: drive.google.com/file/d/0B-RzcbLjUW5pRUFvTDluRnRYLXc/view
3. Flash standard SuperSU from inside TWRP
4. ???
5. Profit!!
Hope that helps.

Using these instructions on a K53b36, aka K6 Note (aka K6 Plus on Brazil), I was able to unlock the bootloader and install TWRP on it successfully, without /data partition being wiped.
But, couldn't install supersu 2.79, and beta versions, on it, neither systemless or system mode, will try other supersu versions and also other super user solutions and see if any works.
Also, supersu system mode gets you into a boot loop, if you only installed supersu once and have no system backup, use this UnSu Script to fix the boot loop.
Any chances this root works on Vibe K6 Brazil (K33B36)?

Stock recovery extraced from BTV-W09C233B019 ROM - untested

Hi M3 users,
I'm a long time lurker and reader on XDA. Now it's time to give something back or at least participate
Following my recent M3 purchase a dugg a bit deeper into this topic and tried to get us the stock recovery for our devices.
I'm not really a dev. I just used the information I found here and in the russian forum where greatslon (thank you guy) is posting his work.
If you find an error in the process please let me know. The files have not been tested in any way. I have no idea if this would even work (encryption and so on).
So I managed to extract the recovery.img file from the chinese rom. This method will also work for the LTE variant.
Maybe @greatslon or @somboons can share their view on the topic or maybe @somboons can even use it in his tool.

Tools used
Huawei Firmware Finder (Team MT)
Huawei Update Extractor
Download
M3_BTV-W09C233B019_recovery.zip
Process
1. Start firmware finder (did use the android version)
2. Change device to BTV-W09C233
3. Downloaded the firmware B019 for BTV-W09C233 (no firmware for other variants present ATM)
4. Extracted and copied update.app to SD card
5. copy to PC
6. Extract recovery.img and recovery2.img using Huawei Update Extractor
Best regards,
Benjamin
Don't quite understand what's this for. First of all, recovery should be the same version as your ROM. I don't know if their mismatch will immediately lead to some malfunction, but some people on 4pda said they should match. Second - stock recovery's functions are limited to factory reset (wiping data, cache, etc.) and installing OTA updates. Without changing OEMINFO (and it's still unconfirmed), you won't be able to install any OTA except those, intented for your model and region, so again there's no need to install a higher version of recovery than your ROM is. But anyway, thank you for the extraction instruction.
P.S. I think there's no need to flash both recovery and recovery2. Recovery2 can be successfully replaced with TWRP and this combination is really great, cause you can launch TWRP by holding Volume Up button only.
And the only reason why you should keep recovery original is that it doesn't really wipe /data - it also creates some files there like custom.bin, containing your regional settings.
Hi Slavon,
Thanks for your highly appreciated comment. @somboons was looking for a stock recovery so I thought this might help.
Your given information are really helpful. I did not know that you could flash TWRP in recovery2 and replace erecovery Handy information.
I'm pretty new to the Huawei structure so always glad to learn something.
EDIT
A lot of good information can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-7/general/dual-recovery-honor-7-t3308398
Thank you very much,

Giving Back
Benjamin,
I've also been a long time XDA lurker. Most of the devices I have owned were mainstream and thus already had a very active XDA developer community; Even if root had yet to be achieved, there would be hundreds of messages on the topic.
It seems the Mediapad M3 is just getting started. I am a developer of over 20 years, but very little android experience. However, I have recently spent a considerable amount of time (about 50-100 hours) working with the low level ADB protocol source code. And I have rooted and flashed no less than 50 devices, everything from cell phones to Android TV devices to routers.
I'm going to take this device on as my first real dev effort in this arena.
I have a few goals:
1. Get working backups for people that soft-brick or need to revert (including myself).
2. Recompile TWRP for the M3 to confirm greatslon's work, and better understand the process.
3. Release a stock rom that's pre-rooted and cleaned up (not that there was a lot of bloat on my device).
4. Release a custom rom that's not MIUI (perhaps based of CyanogenMod).
Since I have virtually no experience, I am sure these goals are quite lofty and will take some time. But hey, you got to have a plan, and I don't have anything else to work on right now.
Let me know if you want to work on anything together, or if you need any help with anything development related.

Hey hey 0D0A,
I totally agree with you regarding the backups, I think once the first OTA update is pushed for the EU and US devices we have a good and safe way to go back.
Especially the US owners are struggling with greatslons TWRP version, that's the first thing we should tackle after the backup topic is cleared
I will contact you regarding possible work
Best regards,
Benjamin
can flash twrp via fastboot but get error saying and no recovery
hi, first thanks greatslon for doing the work on m3.
i seem to have succeeded in getting stuck and can't get it to boot into your custom twrp. adb on linux was working fine, but no longer. ditto for fastboot just get "waiting for devices" now. i switched to win10 and installed the hisuite app so i can use fastboot but still no adb. so i have tried to flash recovery and recovery2 but when i try to boot recovery i get error "Func NO: 11 (recovery image) ERROR NO: 2 (load failed)."
i then downloaded your custom rom and tried to flash the boot for that still no luck. i can't use adb so i am not sure how to just flash the custom rom with fastboot without being able to get into any recovery.
i did have this all rooted and working with your twrp but kept having issues with dpi and there was an ota update (b003) which wouldn't apply. so i tried to restore backup and it wen't south from there. basically now can't do much other than see the unlock "can't be trusted" page and bootloader.
any suggestions?
Desperately need stock recovery img, not sure exactly what when wrong, but it is stuck in a horrible boot loop. Tried Benjamin's recovery files and they seem to remove twrp and put it somewhat back to normal, but can only access the emui recovery and that fails to load the files. Put twrp back and tried greatslon's ROMs, they load but goes back to boot loop. Wipe and format everything, install my original backup through twrp recovery, it says it works, but again, back to boot loop... at this point I think I'm dead... any ideas, any word on the official recovery img? anything? Help!!
What device do you have? And what version were you on?

Hello, I am unlocked, TWRPed, and rooted, but am trying to reverse all of that. My build number is BTV-W09C128B002. Is it safe to download the stock recovery from the OP for my device? Or do I really need the C128 version?
Hello and sorry for the late response, you would need the matching version for your C128 device.
I may be able to extract recovery from an update, I have to look into this tomorrow.
Regards

Thanks! I have been able to use the Huawei Extractor to extract a recovery.img from OTA updates, but have been afraid to try flashing it. It has been recommended to hold off on trying that since that recovery.img is from an OTA and not a FULL update. Any thoughts?

I recently purchased the Galaxy Tab A7 10.4 (released in 2020) and couldn't help but notice that there's no dedicated thread in the forums for unlocking the bootloader or rooting (Although, the method should be very similar to what is followed...
