Hi guys, I have an old Galaxy A40 and I like to share its wi-fi conecction ovet ethernet. I tried with an USB type-c Hub but I can't turn on the USB tethering option and the ethernet option in the menĂ¹ is only for input connection. It's a problem with some missing drivers or I need an ethernet-USBC adapter? (I use the HUB with my new OnePlus and it's ok but on OnePlus I have the Ethernet Tethering option that missing in the A40)
I'd like to share the connection with a router and I can't use USB ports because the router doesn't allow me to use a smartphone as input.
Hope someone can help me. Thanks.

Hi there,
I am looking for a phone that would allow me to join a wireless (wifi) network and then share the connection with an ethernet connected laptop.
I assume that I will need a phone that can accept either a USB or Compact Flash ethernet adapter.
Has anyone come across such a solution?
Regards,
Tim
99% of pocketpc's are usb slaves and cant ever connect actively to any usb device
but 99% of pocketpc's can work as usb and bluetooth modems for pc's
Unfortunately USB is not an option as we are in a secure environment and USB access is locked down on the laptops.
However you could use your phone connected to your computer with USB, bluetooth, or wifi then connect a hub to your computers LAN port then setup ics with your comp.
Hi all,
I'm wondering if the USB port of TF101 would work with any form of networking device ? I'm referring to devices like RJ45 to USB or 3G USB modem or even P2P USB cables... Anyone had tried and came back with any form of success ?
Greetings. I have a desktop PC with no WiFi. I am trying to use the Nexus 7 like a USB WiFi dongle for a temporary internet access. Does anyone know if this can be done? My N7 is stock, no root. But I'd be willing to root if necessary.
Thanks
Possible...
Not 100% sure on this, but if you get a micro USB to OTG adapter, and then a USB to Ethernet adapter, run a wireless hotspot, and change your settings to allow others to connect through that Wi-Fi connection.
Just an idea, give it a go.
Hi,
I have a problem with connecting my Android device (Samsung Galaxy A5 SM-A510F (2016)) via a ethernet adapter and a OTG cable with LAN.
I bought an ethernet adapter and an OTG cable on ebay.
I rooted my Galaxy A5 successfully.
I downloaded the apps "BusyBox" and "Ethernet" (the app "Ethernet" should enable all settings needed to get USB ethernet). This app does not come with any drivers!
I also tried to connect my device using an active USB hub.
However, you obviously need the ethernet driver on the smartphone (which is not yet installed on Galaxy A5).
Does anybody know how I can get this driver?
Or does something else cause the problem?
Are there some better apps for connecting a device to LAN? (for example one which already comes with ethernet drivers)
Thanks for your efforts!
Best regards,
Simon
Dear,
I would like to be able to connect on internet using lan cable with an OTG ETHERNET adapter, as my son have some medical trouble linked to the "wifi", i have to remove it from my house.
After looking through google, some newer samsung have this posibilities, and seem to be directly link to the kernel.
I've found some tips to change the setting of the kernel for Samsung Edge but it's not working on my J7. After checking with a console ETH0 appear as down and i'm not able to change it by myself.
Did you know any custom kernel or room who can enable this function.
Kind Regards
