I don't know if I'm the only one who's noticing this but I just came off 4.3 TouchWiz onto SlimKat 4.4.2 (Build 5) and I'm noticing battery drain like crazy on my mobile. I thought it was bad on my previous stock ROM after the horrendous 4.3 update Samsung provided but this is worse. I used to get around 9-10 hours of battery life which has been reduced to around 6-7 hours now (I know it's not a HUGE difference but I'm not a fan of charging my phone twice a day). Overnight (despite leaving it on flight mode) the battery of my phone drops by 8 odd % in around 6-7 hours. Does anyone know the cause of this and can someone please help me?
Thanks

1. Switch off Google now.
2. Root.
3. Install Greenify + Donation Pack.
4. Greenify the intended apps.
5. Switch off Location.
6. Turn off animations.
7. Turn down the brightness.
8. Turn on the dark slim mode.
9. Switch to 2g.
With the above, I get 1+ day of battery on my i9300.
Read in other forums of other ROMs with 4.4.2 that battery drains with this KitKat version
Using omni ROM 4.4.2 battery drains on this too. Could it be Version specific problem ?
Hi all,
Just wondering what the battery life is like for all you Lollipop users. I feel like the battery is around the same compared to when I was still using Kitkat.
I currently have 8 hours of screen on time with about 16% of battery left. I'm using AryaMod build March 16th 2015. No custom kernels.
Power mode setting is enabled, I don't listen to music, no GPS, no web browsing, but occasionally I do watch a few Youtube videos. I also use a lot of Memedroid and some textings with Line.
No Xposed installed (don't want to mess with it until it's stable for Lollipop) but I do use Greenify.
Anyway, most people might think 8 hours of SOT is a lot with 16% battery left. But if I look at BBS, the stats are rather disappointing. There are a lot of Google Play Services wakelocks (even though Google Play Services is already Greenified). I also see a lot of PowerManageService.Wakelocks under Kernel Wakelock. I've done the best I could to troubleshoot this but it seems like there's not much else I can do to optimize it.
Just wondering what battery life you guys are getting?
no one?
I justupgraded yrster to 5.0 on my note 3 and it is draining a lot fater. If there was a root i would get rid of the stock aps that run in the backround. I would say it could use a partial charge around 4pm if i take it off the charger at 630am
I flashed the leaked Android Oreo OTA to my Verizon Galaxy S8 and am experiencing pretty terrible battery life. I'm getting about 2 1/2 hours of SoT which I find bad for 2018. Meanwhile, my Verizon LG V30 with Nougat is getting 5+ hours of SoT which drives me crazy. Any tips to improve? Also, how's your battery life with Oreo on your S8?
I haven't taken the dive for the Oreo beta based ROMs but have been following the threads and the consensus is that at present Oreo is no better than N, it actually seems to be a little worse for most, hence I'll wait for a while still before jumping to O, give it more time for fine tuning on the S8 by developers etc. just my opinion, plus I get 6 odd hours of SoT on my N custom ROM so I have no urgency to go to O until its more polished.
Terrible, i updated mine couple of weeks ago and noticed about this battery issue, it drains fast despite of disabling the likes of location, reducing the brightness, bluetooth. i informed samsung about it. Before i used it outside with a (-3 temperature since i live in Finland), it was fully charged 100%. I only used it NOT more than 5 minutes for videoing and taking pictures and that's it, i stayed outside for more than an hour. When i checked my battery it was 56% ! I know that cold temperature diminishes the battery performance but not to extent of that emptying the battery in half:

After I updated to Oreo I had horrible battery life as well... It one time dropped about 20% when the phone was resting with the screen off in the couch.
I disabled everything bixby related. Force closed, uninstalled updates, and disabled in every way possible.
Now I get decent battery life. I live in Sweden, we have -4°c today, and the phone worked just fine even outside. No significant battery drop.

Is Android System percentage higher than normal? And what about screen on time on daily usage?

you can try flash a custom kernel , are you using stock or custom rom ? which firmware?
I'm using the stock version. I'm not that tech expert to modify it although my phone is at developer version. Anything I can do more?
Thanks for your reply btw.

Hello.
So i have had this issue for that past 6 months or so.
I bought my galaxy s8 upon release and the battery was great at the time. After some time of course i can expect the life to degrade. But it is horrible now.
I experimented with custom roms and stuff and it just got worse and worse and i tried a lot of different roms. My expected screen on time was 5 hours which is pretty normal.
After some time i only get like 3 hours a day and the standby drain was awful. Once a time i tried to go with stock rom and i got like 2 hours sot and a standby drain that was crazy. I use greenify to close apps in background.
My usage is normally messenger, facebook some times. Its mostly closed by greenify. I watch youtube browse the web and play simple games that doesnt need a lot of processing power to run.
Is it my battery thats very bad? I also experienced in the cold like 0 degrees celcious that my phone just died when it had like 25 percent.
Should i get battery replacement or whats the best option here? Currently running teamexykings lightrom for my galaxy s8 exynos
Same issue, I replaced the battery when fixing the cracked screen, didnt see any improvement even with the new battery
You can try if you want replacing the battery, but I believe its the software issue.
Hello,
I've switched to Pixel Experience some days ago and while the ROM works very smoothly I mus say that battery lasts MUCH less than before.
I see that only using the Nova Launcher to scroll pages and apps means -15% battery in a day, and so browsing the web with Firefox for Android (these two apps, while I was with the stock ROM, practically didn't show in the battery usage statistics).
Is anyone aware of issues with the battery? Is there anything I can do (apart from trying to wait for the september update or trying to wipe all and restart?
Thanks
already fixed xd
