How to get WiFi Dongle work? - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I bought the Huawei Nexus 6P, rooted it and tried everything I found in this forum. Kali Nethunter is installed but I just can't get the phone in monitor mode.
Now I've bought a WiFi adapter, the TP-Link TL-WN823N Ver.3. When I plug it into the cell phone, it is not recognized, I only get the message that the connected device is being supplied with power.
Can someone please tell me how to activate the WiFi adapter and get into monitor mode.

Nexus 10 usb flash + otg not working

Hello everyone. I bought a nexus 10 a few days ago from a friend,he barely used it. However i cant seem to be able to connect the device with a usb flash disk. I bought the otg cable from ebay, and it works with a mouse like a charm. I tried connecting 2 flash usb and external hdd that get power externally..They all give me the same result at nexus media importer: after waiting like 5-10 secs "connecting..." then "waiting for media...",i get
"timed out in waitDeviceReady()". I can't seem to find anything about it on google. Any help/advice please?
Also, the usb/hdd have a small led light on them which is supposed to "blink" when they are connected and the connection is ok. When i connect them to n10, they "blink" at first for 2-3 secs, then they stay on/off.
I had better luck with non-Fat16/32 formatted OTG storage devices when I installed "USB OTG Helper [root]" although you require root. Just a suggestions.
With USB powered harddrives (not self powered), I read a number of posts indicating people had issues due the N10 not being able to supply the power requirements. Some even mentioned that their HDD worked but only when the N10 had 75% or higher charge.

Connecting LG G2 to ethernet cable to use as a network port tester

Greetings all-
I am an IT professional and was thinking how handy it would be if I could just plug my phone into our wired ethernet network to test if a port, cable, switch, etc is working properly.
Goal: To plug my G2 into an ethernet cable and use one of the IP info apps (or packet sniffer apps) to do some network troubleshooting. Basically, I would want to know if DHCP is working on a port and what IP info the phone is getting.
I know they make ethernet testers that can be plugged into a wire for testing/troubleshooting purposes but these are expensive and can't do what an sniffer app can. Plus I always have my phone and can easily carry a few extra cables with me to make this happen.
Experiment: I bought thingy one and thingy two.
I plugged both of these into my phone and then connected the ethernet cable. I saw the link light come on, so I know there is at least some connectivity. However, I am not able to get any data to pass through to the phone. I set the phone to airplane mode (so it won't use any wireless networks) and try to access the internet and I get nothing. The G2 doesn't know how to use the ethernet connection.
Does anyone know how to make this work????
Thanks for any help you can provide!!

Nope, but thinking it through should be possible. In short you just have to configure Android/Linux to use the 802.11 adapter on the USB port. Would be interested to know what the log files have when you plugged in to the G2. Suspect
1) You will need to be rooted
2) Would try get the LAN adapter working on a Linux desktop first then go back to the G2. If there are Win, Mac & Linux drivers should be possible why Android is 'limited' to ASIX AX88772 chipset needs to be understood though.
Good luck
You will have to write specific drivers for it. It isn't just convincing the kernel that your microusb port is your 802.11 port, because the technology is different. Ethernet doesn't have to worry about maintaining a connection over the air, but it does have to remember which wire is used for what. So it would need an actual driver written for it.

Foxfi/ Pdanet

My wife has a Galaxy S5 with Foxfi purchased. I can use it on one computer and its fine. She tries to connect it to hers and it wont stay connected. I am using the cable that came with it and connecting to a usb 3.0 port. Any ideas what setting maybe different from on computer to the next? Hers is a Toshiba Satellite U840. I have a LG G2 I just tried and it works for a minute or two and then loses connection. Doesnt matter what usb port its connected to and I tried to look at all power settings on laptop.

[Q] charging the tablet and connecting to a device via OTG simultaneously?

Hi
I have Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 LTE SM-T535.
Does anyone know a way or a device that will enable charging the tablet and connecting it to another device via OTG?
I have tried several devices/usb splitters in order to simultaneously charge the tablet while connecting it to an additional device via OTG. None of them worked. However, I succeeded to achieve that only once: The tablet was in charging and then when I connected it to another device, the tablet remain charging and I was able to use the connected device. So I know that i should be possible. Unfortunately, I failed to reproduces the same result.
