blue dot when screen is off

Recently I just noticed that there is a small blue shining dot (pixel) on my screen when I turn GN off and it stays there for near 20 sec !
you can not see it even with the smalest light in the room but it is there in darkness !!!
it is in the right side of the screen a little lower than middle ....
any one else notice that ?
is it normal ?
how can I check what it is ?
...
Had this on my GS2, the screen was replaced under waranty.
you have a stuck blue sub-pixel! this should be visible in every picture you display, but it's most noticeable when displaying a black picture (and switching the device off takes about 10-20sec - and the display is still active, but displaying nothing)!
you can test your screen with a test-tool opened with the dialer: enter *#0*#
such a defect is really hard to notice in real life conditions, due to the small subpixel size. also, samsung has no obligation to change your screen because of one dead subpixel, but you can try!
more common is a dead sub-pixel (the subpixel stays always dark), and it's also less annoying. if i would be you i would try to exchange!
Thanks for info
I just test it with *#0*# and there is no blue pixel in the green or red or white or black screens ...
So I just try to ignore it for now or may be change the screen if it gets annoying
Same here. I think is a ICS bug. If i flash a GB rom there is no blue dot. It only appear during 30 o 40 secs when you switch off the screen.

which rom you have ?
I'm on Rocket Rom v2 .
i´m on kingdroid 2.1 but have tried several and the problem is always there except with GB roms.
Try detect pixel and fix from the play store. It helped me fix a stuck pixel on one if my older phones.
I also have the blue pixel when the screen turns off after the ICS update. It doesn't show on a black image either only when the screen turns off. Detect pixel and fix hasn't worked.
BPS ( blue pixel symptom ) seems like an ICS problem or ICS on some devices problem or ...
I tried every solution you can think of but when screen goes off its there for about 20-30 sec and then it goes away.
I tried deferent rom and kernels ....
I think many others has this problem but didn't noticed yet.
For all people experiencing this issue, i would like to tell you that when i got the galaxy note initially, i too had this problem! This problem has nothing to do with software so using Gingerbread or ICS dosent matter. I had taken my galaxy note with this problem to Original Samsung Center. They took my phone to "check it in a dark area" because in daylight it wasnt visible. Then they confirmed to me that it was a screen damage and replaced my damaged screen with a new one free of charge since it was under warranty. So if ur suffering from this same problem please go to your nearest Samsung Service Center OR Outlet where you purchased the phone from and get a screen replacement or phone replacement.
Cheers!
Strange thing is my wife's note has a red pixel. I swear it wasn't there in the start. It goes off 30 secs after screen is off.

Seem to remember having the same issue, had to be very dark though. Occurred with ICS and GB. I think its a hardware issue. I don't know what the policy is with Samsung and smart phone screens with duff pixels, might be worth checking as with computer screens there are tollerances and 'some' manufacturers have zero tollerance where they will accept a return for any pixel defect, others wont. But this occurs when powered down for 20 or 30 seconds and does not show up with screen tests. I guess the QC policy might be thus: if you power down = your not going to be looking at it = it doesnt matter.

Screen Problem

Hello,As always i have a new problem with my new HTC phone. at first i had light bleed on my top left corner of my phone.i persist my self not to attention to it.Now a new problem just appeared. When i use phone for a while,Some of the things and icons from the last app i opened,Left on the screen. It mostly showed itself when i go to a dark app or even scroll down my notification bar.It is like a transparency thing.i don't know what should i do,After that light bleed this problem really broke my heart.does anyone has this issue?
Thats screen persistence its a lcd screen just change the screen temperature too cool and it should fix it
Well i have not seen this on my u ultra yet but i have seen it on my old LG V10 which also used LCD. It usually happened when the phone is hot so most frequently in the summer or when under heavy load. Locking the phone and leaving it to cool for a few minutes always fixed the problem.

Just left the phone cool down for a while.
This defect name is Image Sticking.
I have same problem on U Ultra. It is a cheap phone with a cheap display.
All LCD panels has a certain degree of Image Sticking, but in this case is to strong and very easy to obtain.
This display from U Ultra is not good enough for a mobile phone.
I never saw this degree of image sticking on other phone, cheap or expensive.

[Fixed] j710f, Amoled screen flicker repaired

Hi people,
Im sure most are aware of the flicker in j7 2015 model. I have both j7 2015 and j7 2016.
It was last year when j7 2015 got marshmallow update. Within few hours, the backlit went crazy. It was impossible to dim the screen without seeing all disco pink lines.
There were claims that it was fixed but i still have this issue. Samsung service centre said no display available and warranty period got over this way.
Now just a few minutes earlier, i faced the same isssue in my j7 2016 model. The screen became dim all of a sudden. On closer inspection i found every alternate pixel line was missing vertically. It tried to turn off and on the screen a few times. Then the issue became severe and i was seeing all pink screen. I could barely see the text on the screen.
I had ampere installed and saw that the phone was using over 970 ma of current. So i switched it off and tried after 5 minutes and nothing changed. Twrp, offline charging and holding power button with battery out didnt work either.
I kept on increasing and decreasing the brightness to max and min. Some times the flicker stopped briefly and i could see perfectly. After about 30 minutes of struggling the screen became normal automatically.
I started typing this story when the screen got back normal and it hasn't done wierd flicker till now.
If you face any issue like this, please share over here.
Im also sharing this with samsung so they may or may not try to investigate. They are leading manufacturer of oled display and although the display is fine, im sure their driver circuit have some flaw.
Screenshots , the white one is for low brightness. It goes reddish when brightness is high
I managed to fix the screen by replacing the capacitor array used in the screen.
I did some research and found the 20khz PWM singal used for the screen was out of sync. There is a clock pulse that is controlled by small capacitors to keep it a square wave instead of sinusoidal.
Wont talk more about what and how that works, its there on the internet, just google pwm brightness control circuit.
The capacitor used are either cheap or not within specification or maybe even completely of wrong values.
PS. I know how to handle hardware and soldering, make sure you know what you are against.
Before and after screens. Although i got some scratches on the touch panel, i saved a few bucks in my wallet
Used root dim tool along with team viewer to handle this.
Since i dont have a technical specification for this circuit, ill be doing some more research to fix it properly.
Wow!!!

My LG G5 half display glitches...

I don't have any warranty whatsoever... I bought this second hand... The thing is, half of the screen glitches a lot... It usually happens when the device warms up. Or When I try to use Camera, or try to watch videos.... I am not sure which particular piece of hardware is causing this issue. At first I thought its a software issue. I mirrored the screen to my PC and it works fine on the pc screen. But the half screen tears apart on the device.. Now do I need to change the Display or the motherboard? I notice the battery also drains a lot? Please guys tell me which particular hardware do I need to replace in order to fix this issue.. When I power on the screen, I see some flickering on the top right side.. At that time I think its a display issue. But the glitch intensifies only when I run any graphical thing like camera or video or game. Then I think it could be the motherboard. I am really confused.. Also when I dim the screen a little bit I can see the previous process that I ran on the screen a little bit transparently.. The opacity is very low. But I can see it a little bit... I am really not sure what to do... Please tell me what I need to replace....It would be a great help guys. Please...
By the way don't tell me to heat the cpu for 15 seconds... I tried that 5 times... It doesn't work. Any help is appreciated a lot.
Hi, ghosting is very common on G5. Glitches instead are not. A broken GPU or a broken screen may be the cause for the glitch. Can you post some picture or video of your issue? In both cases (GPU or screen), repairing it won't be cheap?
