Hi. My camera in video mode works in zoom by default, in photo mode everything goes well. This issue appears in stock rom and in xiaomi.eu rom on all camera apps (footej camera's zoom is the shortest one as far as i know). Had anyone the same problem ? No clue what's happening ... :crying::crying::crying:
I think everybody has this problem , i don't really know if it can be normal . Had this thing since i bought the phone .

I've tried Open Camera and Footej Camera on the latest Global Beta rom and it shows zoomed in into the preview but when you press the record button it shows and records absolutely normal. Try with another camera and see if it's the same... I don't know what to say..
I think there is some EIS. That's why it is zoomed in. Using another camera will be the solution to your problem.

Download "MGC-5.1.018_FullManual_v1.2_Android-7.0+" that version is working vor me. You have to enable portrait mode manually in Settings:

You have to activate portrait shooting mode as an extra mode (like time lapse for example). Note that its until now only processing actual faces, not objects.
That version is working fine on my stock ROM.
Edit: Before someone asks: No, front facing camera is not working in this version.
Does someone tried this? Is it working?
And if it does - do you just install the apk or do U need to flash it via twrp?

Hi, tried google camera ported by scrubber. Its really stable and portraits are really good.
Got it from youtube link below. It workd flawlessly on Indian unit H870DS unit.

If these features can be done purely via the software, you wonder why LG can't implement something similar... but then we have no news on oreo so that might be too much to ask.

I doubt if it's possible or not as of now. Google camera which is present for Oreo ROMs is possible only because it follows the 64 bit architecture. As nougat ROMs goes for 32 bit architecture even now, it's not possible, unless someone ports the Google camera itself, which again after 3.x version I've not seen

you can use lens blur feature in old gcam apk v3.2 to get effect like portrait mode..
Guys I can't take slow motion videos through gcam or stock cam right now! In gcam when taking slow motion video the app becomes lagging! And when trying to take through stock cam the app just Force closes! Need help please!

Remove Slow motion Magisk module and install another Google Camera apk that has working slowmo.
After that slowmo will be working with both stock and Gcam.
If you have lags open stock app, go to video then return to Gcam.

By uninstalling the installed script of slow motion in magisk I was able to get the stock cams slow motion works perfectly! But by installing Google camera of latest version,not a moded one the app just crashes! Showing "not responding" #vr46 ??

The latest camera mod from the mi9 forum works, with all the enhanced features in photo mode, if switched to or attempting to use the video recorder it causes a crash of the app.
