Does any app/watch face have a complication that shows both the phone & watch battery level in once complication? I know it might need something running on the phone, is there a way to do it with Tasker maybe?
On my old watch I was using the Black Metal HD watch face, which does offer to display both battery levels in one, but it's only available within that watch face, you can't use it as a complication in other faces.
Any other complications I should check out? Thanks.
The marine commander watch face has this function.
Marine Commander watch face on the play store had this complication.

Thanks for the suggestion, I just tried this, and I can set it to display on the Marine Commander face, but it doesn't offer it as a complication to display on other watch faces, which is what I was hoping for.
I'm using an App from the play store called "Wear Battery Full". It was developed by Zen Barrier. I don't recall how I found this but it works very well. It also adds It as a compilation option for all of my watch faces. One other nice thing. When the watch is changing I can set the level and my phone will notify me when the change has reach my preset level which for me is 85%.

Thanks, from the description it sounds like the complication only displays the phone battery, rather than both the phone and watch batteries in one complication?
The face I'm using from Facer called HaDe DS 90 Pro has the watch levels on left, and phone level on right.

I did what you're asking in Watchmaker once. Actually twice.
In the first iteration I had one round 360 scale (sub-face) with a red hand for the phone, and a white hand for the watch.
Each hand went clockwise from the 12 o'clock position (100%) back to the 12 o'clock (0%). 6 o'clock was 50%...
In the second iteration, 12 o'clock was 100%, 6 o'clock was 0%.
The Watch hand traveled CW, the Phone hand traveled CCW.
I tried to find the .watch file, but that was years (and several devices) ago...

As reported in some Nexus 5 reviews as well as on the Moves google play page reviews, the Moves app that comes on our phones seems to use quite a bit of battery. If you installed it, you can take a look on your own phone by pulling down settings and clicking on the battery icon.
Yes, I know they talk about how it uses much less power than other ways of tracking movement, but it still seems to be a noticeable amount.
According to Moves help, you can turn if off inside the Moves app settings by turning off tracking. At first I thought it came on the phone, but as others pointed out I installed it from google play..
I don't see any apps called moves? Is it hidden?

I see at least 10% battery drain due to Moves. Can't tell whether this is supposed to be expected.
Runtastic Pedometer has been doing much better for me battery-wise. Can leave it running all day and it is at the bottom of my list. Somethings not working right with Moves.
If you turn off tracking within the Moves app, won't that defeat the purpose of the Moves app? Ouch... Just checked mine and it's at 36%. I think i'm going to remove it for a while.
I know some people won't want to do this, but it's something I do that I personally find helps with battery life. Nothing revolutionary, and some people won't want to but... different strokes for different folks. It's very tempting with this beautiful screen of ours to blast the brightness and get the most out of the Super AMOLED (or whatever they're calling it these days) but I've found if I'm in the same environment reading/watching videos/whatever to turn the brightness ALL the way down. Struggle with that for a few minutes while your eyes try to adjust, then turning the brightness up just a tiny bit will be (or at least seem) plenty bright. Anyway, combining that along with having rooted with Scott's CleanROM (I'm on Verizon) and my battery life has been golden! [emoji2]
Here's a screenshot of where I'll often have my brightness after doing this.

Seems really low, but I have no problem reading or doing anything at this brightness, unless I'm out in direct sunlight or something. Anyway, just my .02

This is not a trick.
Suggestion then
I use the slider on the left to turn down the brightness in mxplayer which is my de facto movie watching app.... Turn it to 15 in bright day time environments and down to 5 indoors or in dark scenarios. Otherwise the system wide default is +5 on the notification slider and auto. Able to cross 5.5 SOT easily with this much.
I have a trick to open the phone. I use the power button on the side or the home button on the front of the phone.

I've been wondering how to open the phone, thanks!
You should try out adaway! It's much more powerful than adblockplus, it actually modifies the host file. Also, try out lux if you haven't. It's seriously my favorite and most essential app. I don't know how I survived without it all these years.

Turn Your Old Android Into A Smart Doorbell Monitor
Look kids, you don't have to be Bill Gates to enjoy some of life's greatest luxuries. You guessed it, I'm talking about doorbell camera monitors! There's a good chance you have an extra Android phone or tablet laying around the house. If you're the type of person that's always peaking through the blinds to see who's at your door, then this is definitely for
you.
If you're unfamiliar with smart doorbells, these little devices replace your current doorbell with a camera that streams live video over your network or the internet. You can use them as an intercom to talk to the intruders and hear what they say with the built in mic. Each smart doorbell will have an Android app that can be installed on your device. You'll use the app to see the feed from your smart doorbell.

A Great use of your unused Android device is to use it as a dedicated doorbell monitor. You can mount it right by your door or somewhere that would be most convenient to you. Just connect it to the charger and use a Velcro strip to position it on your wall. Turn the screen timeout to "never" and you're good to go.
This is a really cool way to put the phone that's collecting dust to good use. If you want a setup like this but don't know where to get a smart doorbell and you can't be bothered to google it, here are some of the best on the market right now.
SkyBell $199
RING $199
August $199
ROM
Is there an Android ROM that can do this? I have a couple of old, old Huawei Sonic U8650 that need some repurposing.
Ideally you'd need the screen, camera, network, speaker, microphone, the app and possibly storage for "visitor mail". No need for all the other bloat.
Just thinking about it though, the U8650s only have a camera facing away... So could debloat that crap out of the ROM too! (Where's the efficiency these days in coding?).
However another idea: For example, you have the doorbell phone on a pedestal at your driveway and a visitor rings it and walks in, then the camera video records for "xx" seconds while theyre walking in... Motion detection is a possibility too...
So many options.
Cool idea. I'm gonna try this but ofcourse I need help doing this
DIY Dog Monitor
Do you have any pets? Or maybe people that identify as some sort of an animal? Well about a month ago my roommate decided to tell me that he now identifies as a dog. He walks around in a fursuit all day and refuses to speak to me unless we are barking at each other. After quitting his job, he spends all day in the house which means I have to feed and take care of him. This can be challenging when I'm at work all day, so I needed to find a solution.
I decided I could use an old Android device as a monitor that could detect when he's barking, then I could view a live feed of the camera to see if he's getting into trouble. The app I'm going to be using is called Dog Monitor.

Hi, Cathy Hapka,
which app is needed for showing Outdoor data (altitude, UV, Pressure). I installed FunDo Pro, but can't get this information ...
Hi.
Fundo Pro does not show weather. How can I set it? And Smartband F4 does not show weather, altitude, UV, Air pressure too....
Next issue: smartband do not know to measure heart rate in a period. Tried it to set up over Fundo PRO (Heart rate test), no results.
Next note: App or smartband does not show percentage of battery.
Sleep monitor counts zero duration all nights :/

May you try to do a firmware upgrade... If this doesn't work try to reset Smartband and connect than again with the App.
For me it works... Sleep tracker works and other sensors too. If you want to keep monitor ur Heart rate you must set up in the App the lowest test intveral (10 minutes)
Anybody know an alternative app to the chinese trash?
