Is anyone else having issues with Amazon or PayPal apps not working on the 8 Pro? PayPal crashes immediately upon loading and I attached a screenshot of the Amazon error. I have tried everything I can think of and haven't been able to get these apps to work. They are checked in Magisk Hide and the phone passes the safety check. I've cleared the app cache and data, tried wifi and mobile data, as well as a few other things and I'm stumped.

These problems were caused by xXx NoLimits 12.4, but I haven't yet figured out which line.

I don't have those problems with xXx NL on 12.4. Both Apps are working fine. Hopefully you figure it out.

I think I'm wrong about that and was going to edit the post but you replied first. Out of curiosity do you run AdAway?

Adaway will do it on the Amazon app unless you whitelist Amazon ad servers.

I think the problem is actually with AdAway. I didn't suspect it because I have never had a problem with it before and when I removed the Magisk modules and the apps worked I incorrectly assumed it was xXx NoLimits causing the problem.
It was AdAway that was causing the problem. Here's how I fixed it in case someone else runs into this.
First I turned off AdAway blocking and confirmed both apps worked correctly. Then I went to "DNS logs" and hit the record button. Then I opened Amazon and navigated around in the app a bit and then stopped the DNS logs. I hit the check mark next to any entry that had "amazon" in the title and had a red icon next to it. I then repeated the process for PayPal.
I had the same problem a few months ago. I can't remember how I fixed it but I never added the Amazon and PayPal links in a whitelist. Maybe the ipv6 support?
Are you in the latest version of Adaway?

Yes I have the latest version and I do have the ipv6 option checked. I've never had a problem before but I made a big jump from Android 8 to 11 when I went from HTC to OnePlus so I've found a lot of stuff that is different. I might have to play with the options some more.
Just disable the internal webserver of adaway
@Lycidias that appears to be the solution. White listing only worked temporarily but this seems to be the answer. Thank you.

Carat identified it as a potential hog but there's no .apk bearing the specific name. What is it, what does it do, and where can I find it to kill it should I decide I want to?
Not sure if it is true, but someone at Androidforums said he froze it and it disables Bluetooth. Would post source, but can't as I do not have 10 post.
I would freeze it and see if it is true. If not then just keep it frozen.

I don't use titanium, that being said I can't find it to freeze it, I found the same post but once again, no info on where it resides.

You can try using, "App Quarantine ROOT/FREEZE". Otherwise I would assume it is in, "System/APP". But I do not have that service/app on the Verizon version.

One would think but I didn't find anything named that there, doesn't mean it isn't there but I'm guessing it's floating around with a different name. I searched with root explorer.

You can use System Restore to search and freeze the application. Free version can do that, but your phone must be rooted.
Btw, which version you have? On my, D802, I didn't find this app.

VZW, but I'm almost certain it's tucked away, labeled as some other app.
What it is:
Here are some icons i put together from various sources, which i credit in the file. I plan to add more sooner or later(probably later).
How to install:
Extract files and pick what icons you want to use then put them in "/sdcard/SpeedSoftware/icons" then in the menu select custom.

Not really related to the icons, but when you save a file (e.g. build.prop), it doesn't always save it, does it happen to you too? Only seems to happen with Root Explorer.

And... anyone know if they will work in the 4.x+ versions?
So I stupidly removed the app and am unable to find this app anywhere online or from Google Play store. Any chance some kind user here can save the apk and share the apk here in this thread?

Thank you, however I have tried that one already. It tells me this apk is not designed for my phone, after installing and opening the app. Guessing the app is specific to the 6T, hence the request for this app from someones 6T.

Yeah, same that is what Tmo told me too. But yeah it gave me the option to uninstall it, so I did. But now that I reinstalled it to do the sim unlock, it wont delete, only disable.... lol so weird
Just thought I would share this link for XDA, it details how to unlock the Tmo bootloader from the OnePlus unlock token.

So I am in the same boat. Flashed the international from the xda thread without an unlocked bootloader. I can easily flashback to the TMO and can get the app and then unlock it that way then flash back, but looking to save a step as I jumped the gun, hahaha. I'm supposed to be whitelisted and available for complete unlock in 48 hours. I downloaded the above APK, thank you, but I get the same screenshots as above. When you reinstall the app where you on the unlocked international version? Or were you still on T-Mobile's version of the 6T software?
Lets discuss about problem so we can findout fixes together. Will rewrite main thread soon. I didnt have any problems so far, only here maps faild to start

Hi. Any Android 12 user want to make their system or vendor partition read writable to make thorough customizations to their device? Please feel free to try my new script and report back if it works for you on Android 12. Thank you for your feedback.
Works like a charm in Android 10 and later. Now my system, vendor and product partitions are read-write!
Use at your own risk!

Please be advised that call recording needs consent of both parties, caller AND called, in most countries!

So, you got finally LOS installed on your phone and got rid of Google Playstore but you cannot use the builtin call recorder nor the Call Recorder from F-Droid?
https://f-droid.org/packages/com.github.axet.callrecorder/
Well, quite easy once you have Magisk installed (also famous for providing root):
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/magisk-the-magic-mask-for-android.3473445/
https://topjohnwu.github.io/Magisk/install.html
I know, I know, that looks cumbersome and it is but once you have Magisk installed it does show you this (please note the version number, marked in red):

With Magisk running you you can use the many, many modules that exist out there:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/collection-of-magisk-modules-v2.3575758/
Have a look! And that list is not even complete...
The module for Call Recording can be found at
https://github.com/di72nn/callrecorder-axet
Download the latest release to your phone and install that zip-file in Magisk (see modules, bottom left). Reboot and enjoy!
PS: There are many working devices listed at
https://axet.gitlab.io/android-call-recorder/
Doesn't hurt to give feedback, if it works for you, too.
