So I'm getting 123mbit down on tmobile. 11.0.2.2 IN2025. Tethering my laptop only gets .5mbits max. Is there a solution to throttling or is it tmobile?
It could be tmob, I'm in the UK with virgin and my network went down so they gave me 7 days unlimited to tether and it was 30-40mbps+
Try a VPN app on your phone before tethering (may mask the traffic) and run a speed test

My internet is going to be down for a while and I wanted to tether it to my ipad. It's a unlocked at&t s4 with t mobile baseband to get LTE. Im currently using WICKED t mobile rom. I'm using the $30 t mobile prepaid for 5gb of LTE.
I tried all the wifi apps (foxfi, vpn shield, etc.) And tried a modded tether.apk file in the system app folder. None of it work. When I try to enable the hotspot, it said I needed to upgrade my plan to tether.
The wifi apps enable the hotspot, but when I connect with my ipad, a tmobile log in page pops up.
are there any works around?
Hello, I have an unlimited data plan with MetroPCS and noticed recently that my data has been throttled when using a VPN. UDP is about 1mb, TCP is about 4mb. I can switch to PPTP for normal speeds but fear that I may be throttled eventually for that also. The throttling occurs during the day and returns to normal at night. I can disable the VPN and the speeds go back to normal. I don't torrent and use about 60gbs a month. I haven't received any notification that I will be throttled by the provider. Is there a way to get around this? I've read that you could change the APN, but that was about it. Someone also mentioned that I could use my phone as a sock proxy and have other devices use it's connection.
Maybe a different port or different vpn method will work. As you say PPTP works normally, so you could use that.
Sprints new plan includes unlimited everything EXCEPT tethering, that's limited to 3gb, does anyone have a suggestion for an app that limits or at least monitors tether usage so I can avoid the overage fees?
Just go into settings and data usage and it shows tethering how much data it uses. Also to bypass sprint checks for tether in your builprop put this net.tethering.noprovisioning=true
I tether over 500 Gig's a month on my original nexus 6 on Sprint with that build prop edit. I use that phone hooked up to a router for my Internet. Haha. Sprint hates me.
Hi. I have Samsung Galaxy Note 5 T-Mobile and MetroPCS plan with unlimited data and only 8GB HotSpot with high speed. I'd like to have unlimited HotSpot and high speed to use on PS4. I tried to change APN settings, apps like FoxFi and PdaNet, but it's useless. I can have high speed on laptop with PdaNet app, but when I trying to share it, it's only low speed, and tried Wi-Fi and LAN on PS4 - same thing. I have no idea what to do, I can't connect other Internet cause traveling, hotels and other places have poor connection and speed, especially with PSN restrictions (I've spent a month to download the last game). Please help.

Hello, I was wondering if there is an app or a means of using your WiFi hotspot without the service provider limits the seem to come all too quick? I have seen other apps such as elixir listed as a go-around but uncertain how to either set it up or know if it's working.
what about PDAnet ? Works for me ,wont ever max your 10gb hotspot limit. But you will want the unlimited plan.

& USB Data cable has to be attached the whole time
