Hi there,
The Samsung S7 Edge of a friend got stuck @boot. I have tried to reset and wipe. But that does not solve the problem.
So now i am trying to put on the latest official firmware from Samfw, Smammobile and/or Frija but Odin 3.14 fails.
I think the phone got stuck in an OTA update.
Please help
Here are more details.
S7 Edge SM-G935FD in the Netherlands (PHN), the G935F version should be working as well, its an exynos chipset with dual sim.
In download mode it says on top left:
Product Name: SM-G935F
Current Binary: Samsung Official
System Status: Official
FRP Lock is ON (i cannot go to devevlopper mode to change that)
Secure Donwload: Enabled
Warranty Void: 0

I followed all kind of guides on XDA
Get the right Odin 3.14
Get the right Firmware. Samfw.com_SM-G935F_PHN_G935FXXU8ETI2
Using Default Odin Settings
I have a connection to the phone.

OH just found this great article
[GUIDE] AN ESSENTIAL GUIDE FOR G935F/FD
AN ESSENTIAL GUIDE FOR G935F/FD DISCLAIMER ☆THIS WILL BE A HUGE WORD WALL, SO DON'T BOTHER WITH THIS IN ADVANCE IF YOU MIND READING LARGE AMOUNTS OF WORDS ON SCREEN :D ☆THIS ISN'T A ROOT GUIDE EXACTLY BUT WHEN YOU READ THIS TILL THE END...
forum.xda-developers.com
Did i read it well, and understand that FRP Lock is ON.. that prevents me to install anyting?
"But if you haven't rooted/enabled OEM Unlock before, this won't work either and you may had to take your phone to a repair shop "

It's been a long day... Let me start by saying that i had my device rooted for a month without any issues. Last night, i noticed some apps were killing themselves for some reason but i didnt give it much thought. This morning while i was working, i noticed the phone app was crashing and not responding, so i decided to restart it. It ended up getting stuck on the T-Mobile boot screen. I tried to boot it into recovery mode, but it wasn't the normal recovery mode. It didnt give me option to scroll up and down with the volume keys. It's just a black screen with:
RECOVERY BOOTING......
ODIN MODE (HIGH SPEED)
PRODUCT NAME: SM-G935T
CURRENT BINARY: Samsung Official
SYSTEM STATUS: Custom
FRP LOCK: OFF
WARRANTY VOID: 0x0
QUALCOMM SECUREBOOT: ENABLE
HP SWREV: B3(2,1,1,1,1) K1 S2
SECURE DOWNLOAD: ENABLE
It just stays on this screen until i power the device off, and it goes right back into a bootloop. Also, i can't boot into safe mode either.
So, I figured I would try to flash the stock firmware with Odin. I downloaded the firmware and tried to flash it and got this error:

I did some searching and found that i might need to flash a .pit file, so i found the one for my device and put in in Odin. I tried to flash it and got this error:

<ID:0/005> Odin engine v(ID:3.1203)..

At this point, I have no idea what to do or try. I need my phone for work and ive already missed today. If anyone has any advice, it would be greatly appreciated!!!!!

We need just a bit more info bro. What firmware you attempting to flash? And what firmware was already on the device? If you're on OTA would be good to note as well..

You need check at "re-partition" in Option Tab, and in PIT Tab, you download PIT of G935T, browser it then flash with your ROM via Odin together. Magic is happening )

Same issue here
I've tried to flash stock 4APIA to my SM-G935T TMO S7 Edge and I have not been able to get it to work. I am about to try the pit file, partition check and full 4 files to see if it will work now, I will keep you posted.
Have you been able to resolve the issue?

Android security patch level: Sept 1, 2016
Baseband version: G930AUCS4API2
Build number: MMB2M.G930AUCS4API2
I attempted to root my phone with the guide you can find by The Unlockr (David Cogen)
I followed the steps exactly but unfortunately it would freeze on AT&T symbol...
So I tried flashing stock firmwares with no luck. So I wiped data/restored factory settings and fortunately my phone runs. However I keep getting a popup saying "Security Notice: Unauthorized actions have been detected." Which I am assuming means I tripped KNOX. =(
Is there a way to remove this trip? Does anyone know a firmware that SHOULD flash properly on my phone?
Here is the error I get when I try to flash the 2 firmwares I have found (G930AUCS2APF2, G930AUCU1APB5)

You may be on a newer bootloader which is why you are receiving the pit file error when flashing lower firmware

The september patch has a new bootloader which means you can't downgrade below API2. And no, you didn't trip knox. That notification pops up regardless when the security log detects that the phone is rooted, So you should be fine. API3 G930U firmware flashes perfectly and works really well, I recommend using it.

It's the firmware of the Unlocked S7 variant, which is Official Samsung firmware. No AT&T bloat or anything.
Performance and battery life have gotten better on this Firmware, and no overheating either.

I really do enjoy the idea of no bloat and better performance/battery life. Theres just some things that I will miss, like at&t advanced text messaging..
Hey guys/gals . my phone locked up after a restart from updating magisk and now stuck on the s7 edge powered by android screen. i have tried to open twrp but it wont leave the earlier mentioned screen. i can however enter download mode. i tried using ODIN3 v3.12 reflashing the same BL, AP, CP and CSC but with no luck. i have also tried to flash the stock FW but get error on phone saying SW REV. Is this recoverable or am I looking at an expensive paperweight. cheers
Edit. I can now boot into TWRP and download mode now, Just can't seem to get it to take an OS, the storage it showing up fine in TWRP and on a pc, except its empty space.
Any advice to solve this would be much appreciated
I'm good to follow directions, I can't troubleshoot. Hopefully someone here can give me some direction. All info below. TIA!
Samsung S7 Edge.
Originally Verizon.
Used Odin to reflash TMobile
Worked fine for months.
Went to reflash to Verizon or unlocked.
(Perhaps it partially worked if that's possible as its listed as G935u now?)
Phone is stuck in loop.
I cannot turn the phone off using the power button.
Only battery drain will power it down.
Once charged and on, can only get out of the loop by entering power/home/ Vdown.
If I press Home: I get barcodes, check.
If I press Volume Down, Cancel
Black Screen:
Recovery Booting small blue letters...
"installing system update" blue screen, android man, two circling arrows.
Black screen flash, repeat.
or eventually/sporadically:
"no command"- blue screen tilted Android Guy with Exclamation mark in triangle
If I choose volume up: Continue

You need a more recent firmware file to flash.
This one will do the job: https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=6006931924117927499

Amazing. Thank you so much!
Curiosity- If I want to switch this back to Verizon per se, where can I find the updated firmware such as what you linked.
Probably a rookie move, but I've been sitting on Sammobile waiting a day and a half to download.

I think, the best way is to start here: https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/samsung-galaxy-s7-update/
They have a special "updater" tool which can "recover" your device.
I have replaced the cracked display and after the replacement, Samsung logo is stuck on the screen. According to the guy from the repair shop, a firmware update is necessary. So I have downloaded the file from here:
https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/galaxy-note-3/firmware/SM-N9005/TMS/download/N9005XXSGBRI2/244008/ and followed the instructions on the site (install Odin, boot in download mode, start update). The update failed with the following message on the screen:

I have searched XDA forums and found advice to use PIT file. Among others, I've used this one: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2503547
After firmware update with PIT file there is the same error in Odin:

Now after a reboot following message appears on screen: Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again.
- I have installed "Smart Switch PC" version 4.1.17054_16 (since this is the last one that supports "Emergency software and initialization")
- Opened the tab "Device Initialization"
- search for model name: SM-N9005
- type in serial number
The dialog says: SM-N9005 does not support initializing. Please contact our service center.
Any suggestions on what to do next? I just want a functioning phone, I do not need any custom roms/bootloaders/unlocks. Thank you.

Thank you for the tip. This helped me with the error " Firmware upgrade encountered an issue" now I am back at the "Samsung Galaxy Note3" logo. Booting into recovery mode also does not work as the logo stays on the screen with the message "RECOVERY BOOTING...". So I am back at the beginning. When I was troubleshooting the issue I was searching for "Samsung galaxy note3 stuck on logo screen" (and its variations), or searching for error messages from the logs. Maybe I am asking the wrong questions. Is flashing the firmware the right way to fix my problem that was originally caused by replacing the broken display?
just find a stock android 5.0 flash it with odian in download mode. a replacement screen shouldn't do that to your phone unless the screen u paid for is fake or incompatible with your note 3.
