No, it only has GPS L1, GLONASS L1, Galileo E1, QZSS L1, and BeiDou B1.

Hello, in this screenshot, the used satellites are the one with flag "u"?
So it is compatible with gps, Galileo, glonass and beidou ?

Yes, the phone can find and use satellite signals from these systems, they are listed on the POCO website
POCO Global Home
www.poco.net
The phone can find QZSS satellites, although QZSS is not listed in the specs provided by POCO.

I found this information on the app's FAQ page.
gpstest/FAQ.md at master ยท barbeau/gpstest

"U"-flag is shown if the satellite was used by the GPS engine when calculating the most recent GPS fix

I have another screenshot, it shows that the phone also uses QZSS (Japanese) satellites for calculation.

the phone can detect many satellites including SBAS which is a plus
however screenshots so far doesn't show any E5/L5 satellites

The phone does not support E5/L5 GNSS, but I think for its price, this is still acceptable, I have tried to use navigation with the phone, it is usually accurate, but sometimes if another road is too close, it thinks I am on the other road. The accuracy is about 4 meters.

if anyone can tap the share button inside the gpstest app then select device and click on the upload icon shape
that will send info about the device to a spreadsheet that displays all hardware data ( even the gps hardware model name ) that should clarify everything
note that this option for now is present after signing up for the beta version of gpstest

yes this phone is gr8 for the price and for the gps to be that good actually

@mafdy9 I have uploaded the data using GPSTest beta, I uploaded 3 times, but the data in row 275 has more satellites, so please read that one.
https://bit.ly/gpstest-device-database
It is listed as M2010J19CG.

it says not supported for dual gps ( as stated on the official poco m3 website )
however the gps hardware model is somehow new to the sheet
i don't think it will be ever be supported ( dual gps ) but no one will ever know

Route 66

For anyone interested in different satnav options, I can confirm the new Route 66 mobile 8 works really well on the X1. Works great with the wvga res and the UK maps are Q3 2008 which is (I think) more up to date than Tomtom or Copilot 7.
is navigation smoother than tomtom's or iGO's navigation?
Find it pretty smooth. Ive only been using it a few days so havent much experience with routing yet but seems ok. It zooms in when approaching junctions as I believe tomtom does and no gps lag at all that I can detect. I havent tried igo 8. I fancied the 3D mapping but I think I read somewhere it doesnt support full uk postcodes. maybe someone can correct me if thats wrong.
Cool,
I'm thinking of buying it .. But don't now for shure..
I'm using igo8 at the moment, but i miss the speedcam and the traffic info!
Only thing that igo does have is a much better interface, wich is very usefull when driving..
For the dutchies:
Today you can buy it for 40 euro (EU version)
http://www.onedayonly.nl/bestel
Over time I have used them all.
I've been using iGo8 for some time now. In my opinion the best out there....hands down.3D rendering is excellent.
I recently used it in pedestrian mode to see the sites around Paris...fantastic and accurate.
Plenty of skins to choose from. Dimka Tomsoft is perfect for the Xperia. http://www.tomsoftware.net/default.aspx?pg=bfe66309-2007-4a7b-871d-4dee68e631c1

We have been using TomTom for years, but changed to Route 66 based on the fact that TomTom does not anymore supports only the software. Route 66 does a good job..
Has anyone experiences with the navigon mobile software?
wauw, that are some nice screenshots, how did you get that theme?
And, it's nice to hear that tmc works with that workaround, gonna try it tomorrow!

GPS Dashboard: True free Navigational GPS app.

Honestly speaking i was fed up of GPS apps and maps...there wasnt a single free app which could just use my GPS chip and tell me without maps my heading, my altitude, my speed and my coordinates..
and which wud work purely on GPS chip..no data usage no need of downloaded maps..
i dont need maps all the time..i mean there has to be a way to use GPS without having maps.
so here it is:

found this cool app which is free for Xperia:
http://www.handango.com/catalog/Pro...25&platformId=30&productId=248650&sectionId=0
u need to login to download but its free.
a very simple app which uses your GPS chip.
very useful when u r out there somewhere in the world.
it also gives u the sky view of how many satellites are there above u.
i guess all of u must be already knowing this
but i love its simplicity
I had no idea of it. Will try that! Does it use ONLY gps chip, no data transfer?

Compass for what?!!? Google map?

Hi all,
when iphone came out with compass, I had Xperia, which has no compass. When I was using the google map I had to figure out if I am looking at it from the right orientation. I was pretty sure that when I get a phone with compass it would orient itself with the north and south, as it has a compass inside. Quite surprisingly, it does not!!! What does it do anyway?? The only thing I found that there are apps using them you can find north and south.
Right now I am using X10 with Android 1.6 (unrooted, well there is no root for it yet). Is there a way to enable compass in google map?? It haven't been thought off yet ? If yes, could someone tell me how to?
Thanks in advance
Bikram

It is there by default, actually it can't be disabled ;-) You could see your direction by looking at blue arrow (that which shows your location).
If I'm not mistaking I think I didn't have it by default. I thought I dloaded it through menu -> more -> google labs.
But chances are really tiny that brut.all is wrong.
Just thought I'd let u know for the tiny chance there is.

This isn't in the labs. Are you sure you have latest GM (4.2)? Are you sure your compass is working properly?

well on the last update of maps, i think google removed the compass support..
it was there in labs on the preinstalled version of maps...
i have a x10, so this is information about the x10..
I got the x10i and the blue arrow doesn't show me the direction at all.
I got the last GM.

I think not, because I have GM latest and as you can see I have this arrow. If it was in the labs section earlier, then they probably finished testing it and added as standard feature. This is purpose of labs: testing new things.
I think you should download some other app which use compass and see whether it will show you compass data.
I have the arrow but it doesn't show me the direction I am pointing towards
RMaps rotates map according to compass orientation
RMaps rotates the map according to the compass orientation, but it doesn't have navigation or much search.

GLONASS support

New app "(Samsung) High Fidelity Position" available in Marketplace seems to enable GLONASS support for (even better) GPS tracking.

Can't find it. Is that a cechz locale?
Seems it's not in the marketplace anymore, strange.
hmm :/
I *really* would have liked to look at THAT XAP file...
Would you be so nice and give us a rough translation of the two options in the screenshot?
Here's an English version:
Unfortunately, I do not have XAP either, it was direct download and install through Marketplace.
I can confirm, I downloaded it from marketplace when i saw this post, but now the app disappeared
there's italian language too

I rebooted my phone yesterday and it's there now , wasn't before
thanks to geronimo_cz, this app did not disapear completely - enjoy this XAP: http://www.uloz.to/10189517/high-fidelity-position-v1-0-0-0-xap
IMO it does nothing - at least nothing significant. No difference in accuracy or speed...
Possible reason was greatly described by user Tomula on czech forum here: http://smartmania.mobilmania.cz/forum/viewtopic.php?f=155&t=25992&p=222286#p222286
He found, that Qualcommu Snapdragon QSD8250 in Omnia does definitely not have GLONASS support, so this app is probably for future devices with new GPS chip. Some sources are mentioned by him:
https://developer.qualcomm.com/discover/chipsets-and-modems/snapdragon
https://www.facebook.com/snapdragon/posts/189045881143225
v1.1: http://hotfile.com/dl/129241773/5affdde/high_fidelity_position_v1.1.0.0.xap.html
I'd love to have been in their office that day.
"Its uploaded now sir, all the Omnia 7 fans will get GLONASS support"
"Excellent."
*5 minutes later*
"TAKE IT DOWN TAKE IT DOWN, WE PUT TOO CHEAP A PART IN THE PHONE!"
Getting our hopes up like that. It's just shameful.
I receved update from marketplace
if glonass probably doesn't work, sure the first option works
They put the XAP to settings with this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=17376642
I'm curious how the Glonass can work without a firmware update, doesn't it need different hardware/firmware?
Read the thread again - it was already mentioned, Omnia 7 lacks support of GLONASS in its chipset. This tool is probably designed for future device, but the first option (using aditional device sensors) may still work on Omnia 7.
With current firmware and drivers, it probably does not do anything - functional drivers for compass will come with official Mango release.
It's funny how there were some people who noticed "a substantial improvement".
So much for the placebo effect
when i installed it the 1st time i didn't notice big improvements, but after receiving the update i mentioned in my previous post, Bing maps started to point always north as I set in the preferences and the position was more accurate than before.
Here is the new version, 1.2.0.0: http://www.ulozto.cz/10339233/high-fidelity-position-v1-2-0-0-xap

GPS Issue - drop outs, innaccurate location, bounces around

Hello
Attached is the kind of signal I get when I go for a run with my Xiaomi9t (MIUI 11 Global Version) and MiBand 3.

I went for run with my old Galaxy 7 and MiBand 3 and the signal was perfect.
The screenshot is from MiFit App but it's the same on MapMyRun as well. Weirdly enough GPS navigation in Google Maps works way better, I have no problem using it.
A lot of guides online suggest changing app specific settings, but I don't think that's it, I think it's to do with the device itself!
Any ideas?
What type of accuracy do you use?
Which app?
I use GPS everyday and never had an issue

I used "High Accuracy" and "Device only" (was recommended as a possible solution) but the result was the same.
The screenshot is from MiFit app, however, it looks the same in MapMyRun.
I can use GPS navigation in Google maps, but it behaves as I described when I'm trying to use it for tracking runs/walks etc.
I have same issue after update
MI 9T GLOBAL 11.0.4
GPS keeps jumping 10-100 meters every 5 seconds
My google timeline also have much more jumps cuts compared to before.
Pokemon go is unplayable
Hi,
I have the same problem. Using a speed camera app and the app says every 20sec no GPS signal.
Battery saving options are disabled, GPS high accuracy.
Hello guys, new here.
Im experiencing same issues, it was really bad, so i reseted my device. It is a bit better now, but the accuracy is still not well, in komoot or strava, my tracking lines are not straight, as i would be hardly drunk and move zig-zag around. I have disabled miui power saving options for all the maps apps, still it's not perfect and my device, tend to lose GPS signal frequently. any news on that or recommendations how to fix this?
