Hi everyone, today i decided to finally root my device..
Everithing goes well but when i was done i cant set my fingerprint.. the phone says: make sure the sensor is not wet or messed a try again..
Can anyone help me please? Do i have to go back to stock to get fingerprint functional again?

The fingerprint scanner should still work. Have you made any changes like disabling or deleting any system apps?
No, I didn't, I just rooted my phone. I try to flash another rom but It is the same.. fingerprint things is messed or wet.. i read that there were problems with galaxy s6 ater root by tripping knox.
try to reflash with Smart Switch to factory fw

So I installed the revolution mod (nougat) and my fingerprint sensor was not working so I installed the stock firmware and because there were no fingerprints saved on stock, I factory reseted the phone, then I installed the revolution rom again and it was working for few days but now it stopped working again (sometimes it does not recognize it and sometimes it doesnt even vibrate... Like i would not even have my finger on it)

When I try to register my fingerprint it says continuously fingerprint hardware not available,
Now, I know that my fingerprint sensor is working beacause it was woking ok but I wanted to add more fingerprints to make it more accurate, and when I tried that it kept saying that hardware not... So I deleted all the exisiting fingerprint and now I cant register any.
Did wipe cache partition and tried to clear data from com.ztefingerprints.service but it's greyed out.
I want to avoid factory reset, or clearing the phone data.
Any solution?

I'm with g model on custom rom, just reflash the ROM from sdcard, your data should stay.
Hi, which version are your phone in, A2017 or A2017U? Seems same problem with my phone......Have you tried flash your phone?
A2017U stock b32, not custom rom.
What do mean flash my phone, can I do that with stock rom?
Will it delete all my data?
I hade that problem before I ota update to b32, and still have it..

I've found a fix!
For some reason "don't keep activities" on developer mode was "on", turn it "off" fixed the issue.

I was using custom ROM, after returning to Stock Rom the fingerprint does not work anymore, I followed the procedure of sensor and wifi recovery, but the fingerprint is still not working, already flash other versions of rom stock and nothing, sometimes after flash it works again, but after rebooting the cell phone it stops identifying. Anyone have any solution?
So I flashed lineageOs 17.1 unofficial build on my phone earlier to test it out. After booting into it, I realized the fingerprint sensor wasn't working so I flashed the stock rom using odin. After boot, fingerprint sensor still didn't respond and when I try to add a print, I get an error,"make sure the home key is clean and dry, then try again.", so I used the dailer code (*#0*#) to run sensor diagnostics. The results are as seen attached. Is there anything I can do about it? The home button still works fine so I doubt its a hardware problem. If anyone has a fix for this i'd be grateful for you to share.
