No SIM - OnePlus 8 Pro Questions & Answers

I have a new Oneplus 8 pro. Runs perfectly on factory ROM. I've tried to flash two others, Crdroid and Lineage 18 with the same problem. My SIM isn't detected. Greyed out in settings. Like it isn't even there. I've scoured the forums and the internet and tried every single fix mentioned. Power off, reboot, factory reset, reinstall ROM, try different slot, try different SIM, play around with airplane mode with various combinations of power on and power off ect.. Nothing works. The only progress I ever made was having Verizon logo show up and saying "no SIM inserted" so there must be some sort of recognition of the SIM for it to show Verizon. I reflash the stock ROM and SIM shows up immediately. I'm totally stumped. ANY suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Geez! Anyone?

All I can say is that I have the same problem on my rooted OnePlus 8 Pro with the stock ROM. The lack of detection of the SIM card occurs frequently when I restart the phone and the only way to fix it is to reboot again. Sometimes I have to reboot up to four times for the SIM card to be detected. If I were to uninstall magisk there is no problem. I wish there was some way to eliminate the SIM detection problem but have not found any so far.

Ok i will show what i done to make it work.
1. Remove Sim card.
2. Turn on phone
IF it show "Memory card not working" go to step 3
3. Turn off phone.
Hold Camera button and press Power button.
Phone will show image connect phone to pc. when you connect you can recovery phone from last backup.
But dont do that.
Just hold power button til phone off.
4. Now turn on phone again. If it pass, it will boot to norman, but without Sim card. it Will show Sim error.
Leave it at this. and connect to Zune. and make update.
Note. Phone will random reboot when connect to Zune.
I retry 4 step above until Zune update it to OS 7.10.8107.79 and my phone work well after that.
Note2. You can try flash phone to stock Mango be for do 4 step above.
I use LG-E900AT-00-V10p-234-15-SEP-02-2011+0_DZ to flash my phone.
ok thanks, now it makes more sense, but I'm stuck on trying to get how you want to update, if phone is already up to date??????
anyways, i can't try it right now, because my phone is on repair, and I'm shure they'll last a month. I got the big probability, that I won't get the phone repaired in warranty, because they'll see that its Vodafone Brand instead of OPN. so i'll try your method. I don't think the phone is phisically damaged, it doesn't make any sense, an SD card is hard to damage. what I suspect, is that there's some fragmentation problem, and the memory card need some sort of scandisk or format. Sincé its not posible doing it manually, the way of reflashing or updating the phone, seems to make the job. my only fear is, what will happen if the phone reboots during the process, but It wont happen if its only a fragmentation issue.
Is it still covered by warranty? Send it to service and don't bother. And if they can't repair it, ask for money back.
I got my Optimus from service (rebooting) - it was fine for a month and starts reboot again. I bought it one year ago and under European law I still have one year more. I expect to get my money back because what I see it is just factory fail, no qualify for repair.
LG fixed the phone for me, but they screwed up with the ambient light sensor (didn't work anymore). So they gave me a new mainboard...

Thanks for posting this, I fixed the memory card issue using the above steps. However, I encountered the same issue again a day later, but again it was fixed using the above steps. This seems to be software related issue and not hardware as if it was hardware issue I shouldn't be able to fix it using the above steps.
I am going to try and revert back to previous Windows phone version.
This is hardware error. Nothing can help.

hello
can you please tell me what stock rom is
I had this problem befor 4 days and i become veru angri. I put it in the desk. Today I tried to turn on the phone again and surpriсе. It works again, without problems or crashes. It has fixed from himself without my intervention. Sorry for my bed English
This is a hardware problem !!
All the solutions given above will work, but only for a short period of time.
When you try to download apps to your phone and reach a certain amount of memry usage, the error will come back again.
Been there, tried this ! The only real fix is to send your phone to LG. I got it back and it was working again :good:

[Q] Nexus 4 not connecting to mobile network, what do I do?

Hi guys, I've got a weird issue with my Nexus 4. It won't connect to the mobile network (WIND Mobile). It won't connect automatically, or manually when I go to search for networks. It returns a message saying "Error while searching for networks." I have tried rebooting the phone, the airplane mode toggle, turning the phone off for 30 minutes and powering back on, and a factory reset. I ordered the phone directly from the Play Store, not through the carrier or off of some random person on Kijiji. I went into a corporate store to get a new micro SIM card which she activated for me before I left. It's not my old SIM cut and sanded. I called the call centre to make sure it was activated properly and they said it was, they checked the numbers. I went into the store again to get a new SIM which they again activated for me before I left, and same deal, no luck with signal.
I can't test the SIM in another phone because nobody else I know owns a phone that runs on AWS that uses a micro SIM.
Everything else on the phone works fine including wifi, etc.
Anybody else having issues like this?

Try flashing a radio or flash the Google stock image ..
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
That's the thing though, I never rooted/unlocked/flashed anything. This is all stock. :S This is exactly how it looked out of the box except of course ti was running Android 4.2 after I set it up first, had to wait for the OTA update to download and then let it flash itself to 4.2.2. I have had no working radio/SIM since I first turned it on.
So if I should try flashing ROM's or radios to try to fix this, what should I flash? Any recommendations?

Wow, I'm up and running! Weird fix though...
I installed the toolkit and downloaded the ROM, and was attempting to get into fast boot manually because trying to do it during the unlocking process in the toolkit wouldn't work. I thought I remembered the buttons for getting into fast boot from my old Gnex as being "hold power and volume up at same time". I tried this, and the phone went to the white "Google" logo and then vibrated, and then screen went black and the LED notifier at the bottom of the phone glowed red for about 2 seconds. The phone then rebooted, about 10x faster than before might I add, and when I was booted up I saw "No SIM detected... emergency calls only". This would infer my SIM slot was finally being detected, whereas before even with no SIM inserted I just got "No Internet Connection".
I popped my SIM in, rebooted, and the network is connected. Time to review 5 days of missed texts. Thanks for the hand!
tl;dr --> Anybody having this problem, try turning it off, and then turning it back on with the SIM inserted, holding POWER + VOL UP til it does this hard reset type fucntion. When rebooted, the problem should be resolved.

Man, you saved my life! I had similar problem, and using your method I restored my connection with operator. Many thanks.
By the way. The combination to get into fastboot is power and volume down.
Hold both.
When the phone turns off keep them held.
When it powers on you will be in fastboot

Doesn't detect sim: Solution is not working in my case
I am facing same problem. The phone is working well yesterday but today mobile receive no signal. The network section shows "No Access" and while I manual search for mobile network "Error while searching network". I have tried my sim in other phone and it is working fine.
I googled my problem and find your solution. But it doesn't work for me :crying:. When I press power and volume up button the phone starts normally. I can enter first boot mode while pressing power and volume down button.
Did you do anything extra :fingers-crossed: ?

Guys,
I did search but wasn't able to find a proper solution,
I was on a 4.3, with latest TWRP installed,
I flashed a ROM that was 4.2.2 after I flashed the phone was not booting up, and was stuck on Google logo,
I did wipe in the TWRP and even re-installed the ROM, had the same issue again,
So, I thought to flash 4.2.2 Google Factory Image via MSkips toolkit,
I downloaded the Factory Image from Google and placed it in the folder which says "Put factory image here"
Followed all the procedures, and flashed the 4.2.2 factory image in my phone,
Now the phone is stuck on the X logo,
I tried going into the stock recovery and did a factory reset, but again the same thing,
The phone isn't booting up,
Also one thing i noticed, while the phone is booting the "Google" logo stays around a minute, and then the X boot animation appears,
Any clue what to do??
I tried pushing the factory image via toolkit several times, but again I'm stuck at the same boot animation,
Please help me regarding this,
I'm at work, trying to search and find information as much as I can,
Thank you.

I realize this is super late, but if you for some reason still need help, I'd suggest doing an RMA with Google at this point. I think I've had 3 or 4 other people reply here saying the POWER + VOL UP method has resolved it for them. If it didn't resolve it for you, you may not have any other options besides RMA.

Thanks for the reply! Sorry forgot to mention details.
It wass just 1 month old before dying.I was dual booting cm7 official with sandisk 16gb class 4.
It booted while it was connected to charger and turned off immediately after removing. So I tried removing battery connector and reconnect, after that it was not booting even when plugged in. :crying:
Have you tried booting with the SD card out?
How long are you holding the power button to get it to boot?
Have you tripple checked that you got the battery reconnected?
You need to tell the whole story, what do you mean by not booting? If the screen stays dark, it may be a dead battery, try different charger/cable, or have you, you did not say - or it could be hardware, if only a month old, might be best using warranty. If screen turns on but remains black or it boot loops or locks on boot, could be bad boot records or partition problems, try re-flashing or search for Leapinlars thread on partition repair. Try wmuflyers suggestions, remove the SD card, see if it boots to whatever (more missing details) you have on EMMC, try holding the power button for 15+ seconds, then try turning on, try the three finger salute (reset). If you don't tell the whole story, all anyone else can do is try to guess at your problem and you may never get the information needed to fix your NC.

Whitescreen

Hello,
i got an problem with my Huawei p8 lite.
I got root installed, my device worked perfect for a long time, but yesterday i came across a problem. a couple of apps stopped working. (they started and closed a couple seconds later.)
i turned my phone on and off a couple of times but the problem stayed. I put my phone back to factory settings.
My phone turned on after that and i got the 'setup' screen. after all the settings and agreements, i got a screen with 'restore with and older android device' when i want to skip that, i got an white screen.

i tried installing the firmware again (vol+ and vol- and power) but when i do that, i got an message saying 'installation failed'.
Does someone have an solution?

Same problem, fixed
Hey, I had the same problem; After a factory reset the phone got stuck on emui activation with a blank screen. I factory restarted again and skipped the wifi connection and during the whole process of activation kept the SIM card off the phone. After that, Gapps acted weird but I noticed that it was because the Google Play Services app was missing. Installed this one http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/google-play-services/google-play-services-8-4-89-release/google-play-services-8-4-89-2428711-240-android-apk-download/ and all started to work fine again, with Gapps at least. I know your issues was some time ago, but I hope this could be useful for you or any other who face the same problem. Have a good one.

Wileyfox Storm in boot loop, how to recover without losing data

Hi,
two weeks ago, my Storm received an OTA update with Android 7, moving away from CyanogenOS to something with a Wileyfox label. The phone continued to work for two days, and then simply stopped dead in its tracks. Rebooting brought me to the point where I could enter the unlock PIN, but immediately after my home screen is displayed, the device stops dead and eventually reboots after a few minutes. Lather, rinse, repeat.
I opened a ticket with Wileyfox support ten days ago, and have never heard back from them other than the automated message that a ticket was opened. So i need to help myself. To make things worse, I haven't done a backup in months. The bootloader also is still the default one from Wileyfox, as I was unable to unlock the boot loader to install TWRP when I got the device a year ago and never bothered again. Therefore the prioriy is to get the device into a state that allows me to back up my data before doing a factory reset (and probably moving on to lineage OS in the process).
I can get the device into the bootloader (kipper-N-g2253387) and into an "Android Recovery Wileyfox/Storm/kipper 7.1.1/N6F27C/83dbe1d738", and the device seems to be fine in this state. So I reckon that the hardware seems generally fine and that I have a software problem.
As I haven't been able to find the original factory image on the Wileyfox site and my question has stayed unanswered, I did some research and found a file named kipper-7.1-TOS125B (fastboot).zip on the network. When I unpack this, it looks like an Android image. Flashing from an SD card didn't work ("Failed to mount /sdcard: No such file or directory"). adb sideload makes the device spew a few messages including "E: footer is wrong".
So I tried fastboot erase system, fastboot flash system system.img, which did something that took the appropriate time to flash the device, but the behavior didn't change: Bootup until the lock screen, displaying the home screen after entering the PIN, and then dead, eventually a reboot.
I did not try anything more radical since I'd really really like to save my data first. Is there any way to do so?
Please advise, thanks in advance.
Greetings
Marc
have you notice about this problem?
I saved my data with TWRP booted to RAM and then upgraded to LineageOS. That solved the issue for me.
