Hello everyone,
I'm looking for a custom ROM to use on ZTE Blade A450. My aim is not really to use a ROM with additional customizations but one of a newer version.
This device uses Android 4.4.4 Kitkat (API 19) and has no further updates. It would be great if there was a newer OS version for it (maybe 5.1.1, 6, 7).
Unfortunately, even though I tried to follow tutorial and create a custom ROM on my own, there are not any kernel or device tree files around for this device so I'm completely stuck.
Any help would be appreciated.

I’ve surprisingly (as in, it materialised on my desktop today, with a gift note) acquired an SM-910F (trltexx) and am now searching for a ROM to use.
I’m using first KitKang (with pico-gapps, only for the playstore, I don’t use anything from Google), then LiquidSmooth (with MicroG), on the HTC Desire (bravo), so I’m used to that UI and do not wish to learn another one, and I really dislike vendor addons and like minimalistic AOSP-based ROMs (but CM will do in a cinch), so I wish to flash a Free 4.4-based ROM on that device.
While Lollipop- and later ROMs are abundant, I have a hard time actually finding a KitKat ROM; some people have been suggesting the stock ROM, but that won’t help much because of the vendor additions, plus the previous owner says he’s upgraded the bootloader so the stock 4.4 won’t work (but a custom 4.4 can do).
I’ve got no problems if the ROM came with, say, the kernel and hardware part of CM 12, as long as the UI is relatively close to AOSP 4.4 or CM 11.
No spyware ☺ please, but Playstore is okay.
I have an Acer A500 running Android 4.0.3 (Kernel 2.6.39.4+, Image Acer_AV041_A500_RV05RC01_EMEA_DE, Build Acer_AV041_A500_1.033.00_EMEA_DE).
It feels sort of sluggish all the time and sometimes Apps completely crash... So I was wondering if I should run a custom ROM or downgrade to HoneyComb or whatever
So what I am asking is:
what ROM is currently the most stable/fast? (official and unofficial ROMs)
can I use a different kernel and, if so, should I and which one?
what exactly is a bootloader and do I need a custom one?
how would I go about flashing a new ROM? (official or unofficial)
I tried searching this forum (and tegraowners.com) and didn't really find answers to my questions or a guide on how to do this. The only thing I really found is that the OmniROM 4.4.4 has more features that 5.1.1 or CM12.1, so I'm guessing its the most stable one...
Any help is appreciated
Hello to everybody. First at all sorry but my english is not very good. I have the Nexus 7 (grouper) 2012. I bought it because I saw that it was compatible with nethunter, but, what happend after? The nethunter group discontinuated the support for this table, so I cant install the dependence of some soft like lighttpd for launch LINSET. The summary is the next, is it possible make a 3.4 linux kernel in lollipop android version 5.1.1?. I found a lot of diferent mashmallow version with 3.4 kernel, but I need to a lollipop (the last support by nethunter grouper) with 3.4 linux kernel. Can some expert make that version of lollipop?
Hello all,
I have built my own version of AOSP that I have successfully booting in an android wear emulator... all of that stuff is done.
I just can't find any documentation on how to patch my custom AOSP build onto my dz09 mediatek 6261 watch, nor can I find an open source compatible ROM that I could modify to support my changes without using my own AOSP version,
If it isn't possible flash my custom AOSP version, or to even modify my changes into an existing custom ROM, can anyone suggest a cheap android watch that I CAN do this on?
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
edit: and yes, I have thoroughly searched this site for info... unfortunately haven't found what I want
Hi everyone!
I've a Oneplus 5 with the latest stock build (android 10), with only the bootloader onlocked, and I'm finally thinking about finally rooting it and spin a custom rom.
I've seen there are a lot of resources about rooting, with different versions of the twrp, etc that I think are not super up-to-date, do you have some links to guides that I should follow? (I'm not new to modding, but still, every device has its own quirks :] )
I was thinking about installing the pixel experience 12 (android 12) do you have any feedback or suggestions for other roms?
Thanks!
