Noob question.
Since my car doesn't have a Android auto player, I'm using Android Auto interface on my phone and connect to player through Bluetooth.
On all Android 10 Rom's everything work's fine, but on Android 11 Rom's some ROM's show Android Auto interface on phone, some don't. I know is a solution using Android Auto on Phone app launched by Google, to force showing the interface. But the question is what make the difference between A11 ROM's to show or not Android Auto interface also on phone.

Hi,
I'm using Motorola Milestone. A lot of times I have to update a new version of an app which has several bug fixes for Nexus One. As I know that the Milestone and Nexus One are running the same Android OS version (2.1). I just wonder why a normal application (such as Calendar or Note) must be dependent on hardware? I mean the same application version that works on Milestone but some of its features don't work in the Nexus. Let's take an example of Windows OS. We can install Firefox, Winamp or even some low level interacting program like anti virus in any computer (Lenovo, Acer,...) as long as they're running the same Windows version (like Vista). Is it a down side of Android platform?
I think I have a similar question. On my work the have a winmo databas app that work like an workordersystem. Can this program run in Android by any chance or has it to be rewritten to work on a Android platform?
I managed to install my application on the SD card by using to apkInstaller.
I thus wanted to test the installation from Android Market... My application does'nt settle down on the SD card but on the telephone... Why ? Nevertheless I added in the manifest the option android:installLocation="preferExternal" !
Needs to make other thing ?
Thank for your answers !
It's mostly localization.
Either developers ask google to make their app available only for certain devices, or certain manufacturers ask google to make only certain apps available.
If an app is built against the SDK, then it's compatible with all devices that share that SDK version.
I herd during the I/o Android Auto demo that its L running in the demo cars and that the UI knows its supposed to show the Auto home screen and when apps are launched to launch the Auto ui of the app.
My question has anyone seen anywhere in the developer preview a possible way to enable this on our N7s? I would love this as I use my N7 essentially as a head unit for my car. I would think the n7 would make the perfect Android Auto device.

Hi, I recently got a Moto 360 as a present. But sadly, I soon came to the realization that you can't run Android Wear without GAPPS installed (I'm running CM10.2). I'm not going to install Google's spyware just so I can use a watch.
Are there other Apps that work with AndroIid Wear Devices? My smartphone does support Bluethooth 4 and BLE. A little bit digging showed me that some dedicated people got some functionality to work on their Iphone without Google Services. Alos when I install the Pebble App it recognzes my phone (but can not connect)
I really just want to get notifications to my watch, control music , set an alarm and maybe get my pulse data on my phone. Are there third party apps that can do that?
The person who ported the Android Wear functionality to Iphone has a Github repository of his Iphone app under shiitakeo/android_wear_for_ios . If there is no option I will have to write my own app and I'm going to orient myself on what he did there.
So you are looking for an app to connect your android phone to the iOS wear connect app on moto360? And not android wear app?
I'm looking for a third party android app that lets me connect my Moto 360 with my Phone aCyanogenmod 10.2 without gapps installed.
Without gapps I can't install the offical Android Wear app. Taking a peak in the IOS world shows me that it' s possible to do that with a device that supports Bluethooth 4.0 and BLE. The Pebbles app also recognizes my watch but does not let me connect it, this tells me that they must use a similiar protocol or maybe even the same. My question is, if someebody already did write such an App, that lets you connect your Android phone with your smart watch (without installing gapps!), or if I have to do this on my own. (I'm a software developer but never did anything with Bluethooth or much in Android.)
I'd also like to find a non-gapps solution for this. Have you found one?
Apple spies for Facebook. You'll sell your integrity no matter what.
Was a bit excited on receiving this watch, thought it would be a great watch for that price, but no..
It is the one running android 4.2 but is there a way to flash it and or install android wear os? I am on a mac, so would be great to do it from there.
And also, is there any way to get the notifications to work with iOS? Tried about everything now, but haven't found any app or settings that works.
an os needs drivers to communicate with the hardware, screen, buttons, etc
there are no drivers for non officially supported watches to run android wear
so in short: no
Dear XDA users!
I have a problem with my android auto system in my car and unfortunately i don't know what should i do for proper operation.
So in my car I have an Eonon Headunit with android 10. My phone is a Xiaomi Note 8T with Miui 12 - android 10. I bought recently an Android Dongle from Carlink.
For my headunit i downloaded and installed the autolink app from the link on the package. I wanted to install the android auto app from Google Playstore, but my phone showed the app is already installed with the latest update. I checked the applist but it wasn't shown - any icon. In the settings I checked the app settings and i found it as a system app - it can't be uninstalled, only i can delete the update to restore the app, but any option to open it.
I connected the phone to my headunit through the dongle and my phone loaded the android auto wizard setup. I allowed everything what i could, but there was an error message with google voice assistant.
After it on my headunit i saw the android auto, but with few features. On my phone I use Spotify, Youtube Music, Waze, etc. On the headunit i saw only the waze, any spotify or yt music, any message app - messenger, whatsapp, sms. The resolution was incorrect, "blurred" screen, no main screen - only some application selection menu.
What I saw in videos from android auto it was completely different.
Could anybody help me what should i do? Has the unit from carlink fault or is my phone bad? Or is the headunit incompatible with this dongle? - But I don't undestand why is the android auto system app and why don't i have any option to open it on my phone.
Not Android Auto, requested mod moves to Android Head units forum.
OP - note that your phone shows no AA because the head unit is not AA.
