Hello!
I just recently switched phones and re-set up my Ticwatch E with the new phone. Everything seems to be working OK, except for the main feature I use my watch for - tracking my runs. It seems like the GPS on the watch does not work at all. I have tried using Google Maps and Strava and it never finds my location - just endlessly searches.
Do you have any suggestions on how I can fix that?

Has anyone else experienced a problem in Google Maps where the My Location feature will only work over EDGE connection. I have searched and read about this in a few other places but have found no answers. Im in NY and it was working fine just a few days ago.
yea ive noticed that to, it says location isnt available at this time or something like that but i can confirm that it works perfectly over gps option!!!
Actually today it started working again, good news i guess but i dont know how long it will last plus on 3G it gives my location within 1000m while edge did within ~300
Rooted my G1 yesterday for the first time and installed
GreenRomProject-Presents-CyanogenMod-7.1-D/S-08/06/2011
H-BOOT 1.33.013d
Radio 2.22.27.08
Everything seems to be fine EXCEPT my GPS isn't working - When I hit my location in maps it says to enable a My Location source in system settings - I have use GPS satellites checked and use wireless networks unchecked - if i check use wireless networks it will get me my location but doesnt solve the problem why GPS isn't working. Also when I use facebook and try to check-in with places, facebook crashes (I'm assuming its trying to use GPS and for some reason it can't).
I was having the facebook crashing problem prior to this and didnt notice if GPS was working or not prior to this so I'm wondering if something got messed up during the rooting of the phone or is my GPS somehow not enabled? I don't even get a satellite icon in maps or facebook. Any help ?
anyone ?????
try reflashing
Same problem here with Laszlo's Froyo, seems that switching on/off GPS in settings doesn't do anything. Normally I got a blue color on the LED, nothing happens there either.
Very fast MOD, but I definately want to get GPS working!

Try different ROM. See if you get the same problem.
Right, got it working. Don't know what did the trick, changed radio to v2.22.28.25 (from 2.22.27.08) and installed "GPS-test-plus" (gps-test-plus-version-1-1-3 from androidxmarket) after I started the gps-test program my location changed to the right one in my case from Holland to Sudan (!)
Maybe this could be helpful to anyone.
Glad everything works out.
GPS always been working fine, I use "device only" mainly for G Maps.
Today suddenly G Maps can't locate me, just keeps saying "Waiting for location..."
Downloaded GPS Fix app from G Play Store. App instantly locates me so GPS function is available but not in G Maps, nor Yelp or Weather Channel (apps I've tried so far.)
Always worked fine before. No changes. Was working earlier today. No updates or new apps, settings, etc. All same.
Have powered off and on various times. Cleared all G Maps cache and data. Uninstalled and reinstalled. All the basic stuff, etc.
WTH?!
Running KK 4.4.2 rooted courtesey CWM etc.
Please help - thanks!
Hi, i just made this account to post this problem here and I hope I find help. My s5 is not rooted and brand new (3 days?) with the version 6.0.1. My phone does see the satellites but it doesn't locks on them so I don't have GPS at all except with WiFi and the other things but that is kinda useless and not accurate. If I really have to I would root my phone cause it's annoying as hell and I'm a traveller so I need that and I don't always have internet. Hope you can help me
Kind regards
Same problem, similar situation, using SM-G900A, Galaxy S5 with AT&T. Satellites show with GPS Tools app, but Google Maps and Waze don't find GPS location. Tried many things, including factory reset. No joy...
I have one of these: KINGWEAR-KC05-4G-8MP-Camera-IP67-Waterproof-WIFI-GPS-Smart-Watch-Phones. It reports Android version 7.1.1 in the Settings-About watch, and I've equipped it with a ProjectFi data-only SIM in its SIM slot, which seems to be working (can browse web pages when away from WiFi, etc.)
Google Maps is installed, and GPS location is working, but... I'd like to be able to share that GPS location from this device, but when I go through the sharing process, some of the confirmation NEXT buttons are in the corner of a rectangular screen, and on the round watch face I can't tap on them, so I can't get location sharing activated on the device.
Has anyone else tried to make Google Maps location sharing work on this type of device? I know it doesn't make sense on a watch that's tethered to a phone, but this one has its own SIM, so I'd really like to be able to leave the phone at home, but still get location sharing from the watch. Any kind of workaround ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks.
That's an issue w/ your watch I think, because I use Fossil Q Explorist HR, and I've never had this type of problem
