Which stock images go with my device? [XT1926-3 RETEU] - Moto G6 Plus Questions & Answers

Hi, I'm trying to find a stock image for my Motorola g6 plus, 'evert'. Since I'm looking for an old android 8 image, the supply is limited. I don't know enough about the different versions to figure out if I can try anything else than XT1926-3 RETEU ROMs. Would a RETAIL rom work, for instance?
I would alse be grateful to be pointed in a direction where I can find information on what the various code words mean.
Thanks

Questions xt1265 Prime

Hi everyone,
I have the Moto G4 xt1625 Amazon Prime variation. Nevertheless, I took the regular steps to receive the unlock code on Motorola Website and they simply sent it to me. No idea if the fact that I live outside US and / or that my carrier is, obviously, from outside US had anything to do with it or if I was just lucky. I got the code, but I still never used it, which means I have the stock 6.0.1 android.
Now on to my questions:
1-My build number is MPJ24.139-64. What does that really means? I see people discussing this everywhere, some are 65. What difference does each build have?
2-I never heard of Firmware when speaking of mobiles. I always heard/changed the OS, but now you guys are changing firmware and OS. How do I know which firmware I have? How do I get the latest one?
3-Since I have the unlock code for the boot loader, does it virtually means I have a regular xt1625 Moto G4? I mean, as of now I still have the adds, but should I opt to unlock the boot loader and say flash CM 14.1 it would be the same as non Prime xt1625 or does the Prime version have other differences (build, firmware, etc)?
4-Can Moto G4 use the same ROMs as Moto G4 Plus? I've seen different answers regarding this matter. Would I have to flash base bands and/or soak test?
5-Is CM 14.1 (cm-14.1-20161225-NIGHTLY-athene.zip) the latest AOSP ROM for Moto G4?
Thank you in advance for your help and time! =]
Andre
Anyone? ^^
Maybe i can help you
1- This is like the version of firmware, or OS if you want to call like this way, (correct me if i am wrong)
2- Firware and OS are the same, i guess. Better call it ROM
3- Yes, the same. But i have the prime version locked so i cant tell you with 100% of security
4- Yes and no. the board is the same thing, you can install it but maybe you have problems like heat (not so much, of course)(because moto g+ have the cores boosted to 100%, and moto g non plus have 4 to 100% and 4 energy saver cores.)
5- NIGHTLY is a buggy software, this is not the software 100% tested. Maybe you have to wait a SNAPSHOT. This is more secure
Sorry for my English. I speak spanish better <3s
Thank you!!
What about the Indian 7.0 ROM? Can we install it without problems?

If you have unlocked the bootloader of course! Yes!
But maybe you want to make a backup of everything before!
I will recommend to you wait until the official software for your smartpone arrive..
For some reason Motorola has not released it, maybe the Indian 7.0 is buggy and they are just testing with india...
But you can try without problems!
PD: Remember when i said without problems, Problems may appear like overheating, WiFi problems, etc etc. But you can have a taste of nougat! Just search a little, i know people who have Nougat in theirs XT1625, and is working "well" (overheating againg)
try this

Hi,
I'm not a newbie here, but I think I can help u with some info since I have the same amz prime unlocked bootloader
Now on to my questions:
1-My build number is MPJ24.139-64. What does that really means? I see people discussing this everywhere, some are 65. What difference does each build have?
This is the latest build, that it's available for this phone version, this FW is the one that I had before I moved to RR.
2-I never heard of Firmware when speaking of mobiles. I always heard/changed the OS, but now you guys are changing firmware and OS. How do I know which firmware I have? How do I get the latest one?
FW es the specific version of a OS, the one that's meant to be on your phone
3-Since I have the unlock code for the boot loader, does it virtually means I have a regular xt1625 Moto G4? I mean, as of now I still have the adds, but should I opt to unlock the boot loader and say flash CM 14.1 it would be the same as non Prime xt1625 or does the Prime version have other differences (build, firmware, etc)?
Unlocking the bootloader means that it can support non official software, a custom recovery and after that you can root it, install a custom rom or mostly anything that you can think. But it still an specific branch oh the moto g4 the prime edition. So you can install Nougat from a TWRP, but not directly as an update or any other procedure
4-Can Moto G4 use the same ROMs as Moto G4 Plus? I've seen different answers regarding this matter. Would I have to flash base bands and/or soak test?
The moto G4 plus uses the same Hardware, custom roms can be used in any of those, not official roms
5-Is CM 14.1 (cm-14.1-20161225-NIGHTLY-athene.zip) the latest AOSP ROM for Moto G4?
CM is now gone, the new version of it would be Lineage OS, I personally use Resurrection Remix as my daily driver, it has TONS of customizations and it tells you whenever an update it's available.
Be carefeul with installing anything on your phone just have always a recovery back up in the micro sd and on a usb o pc available in case anything went wrong.
Hope this could help
Pardon my english.

Questions about our dear potter.

Hello all, I'm new to the g5+ but have been rooting phones for a while but I'm a little hesitant with this phone for a couple reasons. I'm coming for a moto x pure edition "Clark" which had a lot less different firmware upgrades and a straight forward rooting process.
My first question is which twrp are most people using? I've found 4 different ones on here but not sure which one is best. Also not sure if me being on firmware version Npns25.137-33-5.
Which brings me to my next question. Has anyone successfully rooted retus potter npns25.137-33-5? I literally can't find any information about peoples success on this build number. Normally I would just try it but I can't find the factory firmware to flash the system partition back if no mess it up. The only 33-5 firmware I can find says nits for the amazon version but mine is non amazon xt1687 64gb model.
Any feedback would be much appreciated, really looking forward to aospa, might try crdroid too that was my favorite ROM on clark
There's a thread somewhere that has a program you can use to unlock bootloader and twrp etc. I don't think it matters which firmware you're on but the stock files are in that thread also. I used the program and everything worked fine. I think it's in the development section

I've rooted 35-5. Works the same way.
Also came from Clark. Rooting Potter is easy and I even screwed up multiple times by trying to flash a zip file when I should have been flashing a .img
file so I can testify that the rooting process is robust enough to not brick immediately if something goes wrong.
Can anyone shed light on the TWRP app and it's functionality. Does it install image files correctly and so forth? I'm literally under 24 hours having unlocked and flashed AOSPA Sso still learning the device

How to downgrade ZC520TL from N to M

Hello all,
this is my first post on XDA so I hope I am doing everything according to the rules. If I do something wrong, apologies and I will do better next time.
So, I recently purchased a Zenfone 3 MAX in the US in a hurry out of necessity. So I was quite annoyed to find out that ASUS has hidden the ability to format the SD card as internal memory. However I found out there is a way to un-hide the feature via adb. But the procedure I found is tested to work with Marshmallow, and I had already updated the phone to Nougat. Indeed, the adb command has had no effect on my phone.
So, now I am trying to downgrade back to Marshmallow. I am definitely a newbie to this world, but I have been able to find this (https://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone-3/help/how-to-downgrade-zenfone-3-nougat-to-t3573241) thread, which contains a link to a downgrading procedure (https://www.asus.com/zentalk/thread-164531-1-3.html). However, it is not for ZC520TL but for ZE520KL.
I was hoping I could use the same procedure for my phone, if I find the right firmware, but I am not sure I have been looking in the right places. The ASUS website has various firmware versions for the US and I assume the oldest one is Marshmallow (Version US-13.1.4.43), but the procedure above requires two different firmware files and I do not know enough to understand what is the difference and where I can find them.
Anyone can shed some light on this for me?
Thank you

Ask for it. A user in Canada obtained the downgrade. Please write in this thread and share it.

Thanks for your reply.
I have looked at the thread you linked, but I could not see any reference to someone successfully getting their phone downgraded to M by Asus. If anything some people in there stress how unhelpful is Asus with the whole thing. So I am not any closer to the solution than I was before.

By the way the Zenfone 3 max was a total mess for me so I used my right of withdrawal on the amazon.
I was successfull in downgrading my ZE552KL to M using the raw firmware
Visit this link and download the appropriate raw firmware for your phone

Thanks for the link. I have looked around and found a firmware for the ZC520TL. However I am not sure it is the right one for me because it is my understanding that I need a firmware whose name starts with UL, rather than WW. I am not sure what would happen if I used firmware of a different zone. Moreover, I have been able to recover the right firmware from the ASUS website. What I need is the "RAW firmware" as defined in the procedure I have linked in my original post. But I don't know how that is different from the firmware. As I said, I am very new to this world.

WW stands for global firmware, however I am not sure what UL is for. You can contact the person in that website asking for your firmware. They will help.

[help] need to download a specific rom for moto x style

when trying to unlock the bootloader always has this message (failed to get unlock data please try again) and the only possibility of resolving this error is to flash the equivalent or higher bootloader of a ROM retasia 7.0 [CLARK_RETASIA_DS_7.0_NPHS25.200-15-3_cid7_subsidy-DEFAULT_CFC.xml.zip] but the link is premium [http://gsmsolution.org/file-by-model.php?modelId=8962], Someone knows how to unlock the link or know of another where you can download this firmware
Obs: I need to unlock the bootloader to install twrp and restore my sister-in-law's efs folder with a backup I made from my device
Any link where you need to pay to download a factory firmware image is questionable at best... I would highly doubt it's authenticity.
We do not have the Nougat images for any device except the Moto X Pure Edition (XT1575, retus), which just leaked this weekend.
The fact this leaked lends to the possibility we may see other models soon, but it doesn't necessary mean that will happen... Firmware leaks from Moto are few and far between now days. Follow Moto Firmware Team on Twitter for the most up to date info, all leaked firmware seems to come from them in the last several months.

This page does not have all the available web versions for the CLARK xt1570, xt1572, xt1575.
I know the [CLARK_RETASIA_DS_7.0_NPHS25.200-15-3_cid7_subsidy-DEFAULT_CFC.xml.zip] firmware already has availability, I just need the link to download

hiding the bootloader unlock warning message

Hi, I am just wondering if someone can point me to the right tutorial that I can use to flash a logo on top of my G4 plus's bootloader unlock warning message. From my search on this forum, apparently the logo.bin file is different depending on what android version and built the phone has, and the way you do it is also slightly different. Mine is a XT1641, build MPJ24.139.23.3, running android 6.0.1. Many thanks.

It's only overlay image, not related to device varient or android version, also no one has reported problems of using them on any firmware..
Just take backup and flash any available in this forum..
