I was wondering if anyone has experienced this issue, with the screen and apps displaying kind of sideways? i updated my phone and had it rooted, then i unrooted. i updates to the latest firmware. i posted here a screenshot to show what I'm talking about. i checked out the screenshot on my laptop to make sure i wasn't tripping. any help greatly appreciated.

Sorry buddy what am I looking at? You may be tripping or I may be blind. Probably the latter.
If it's a screen misalignment then surely a screenshot won't show it.
Looks perfect from the screenshot.
I too don't see anything wrong here. Was about to say spotify looks a bit crooked but just checked that's the way it is. Try restarting and putting it in rice
Also looks ok to me...
my bad... it must be my phone then or my eyes are really that bad ?

I've done a search on this, but peoples problems seem to be different from mine.
I have just the normal clock on the nexus that came on android 2.1 I think. Now I have no alarms set, yet it goes off every morning around 8... Very annoying when I don't actually have to get up till later.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to turn this off? Like I said, I haven't actually set an alarm, I actually deleted all the alarms that were on it...
Help would be appreciated
PS: Nexus is not rooted or anything as far as I'm aware.
Do you have any suspect apps running in the background? I'd wipe
How do I check this? I didn't install any And what do you mean you'd wipe?

by wipe he means do a factory data reset ... (menu-setting-privacy..)
i would imagine that you would know if you were rooted or not
Well I bought my nexus off someone else. Does it do anything different when you are rooted? Mine just starts up with what seems to be the original android 2.1 . And would resetting be the only way to get rid of this alarm then? I'd lose all my downloaded apps?
Thanks for the help and I hope I don't come across too dumb. I've just never rooted a phone before so I don't know if its supposed to do something different.

If you got it from someone else then the first thing you should have done is factory reset it. I'd try that, that should absolutely fix it.
Also to know if you're rooted, when you reboot to the first boot screen [the still image of the colored X] and there is a picture of a padlock unlocked at the bottom then you're rooted. If it's not there at all then you're not rooted. It will be very noticeable when you reboot.
Guys, im the developer of Power Switch, an app that switches off your tablet's screen when you shut the case.
The main thread can be found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1277712
Ive had reports of problems with the tab's light sensor, so would appreciate some debugging feedback.
You can use the lite version to test, it has all the features, but just wont save as much juice.
Thanks in advance. Feel free to reply here or in the main thread, i read both regularly!
Do you guys not have a light sensor or something?

Yes we do. Maybe if there was some incentive to be your testers, like a free full edition, you might get some to actually be your "guinea pigs"
It works, but it will be much better if we can have a locking sound...

Oh wow, thats a great idea, never thought of it... i will definitely add this in the next release.
Almost done!
Updated, added screen locking sound
I just ordered a case, so I will gladly test this out once I receive it.
Just to let you know, I did try the full version of your app, but ultimately refunded it. It's a great concept, but just didn't work well on my A500. I don't know if our light sensor sucks or what, but the app wasn't detecting the cover being closed.
Anyone else having problems? Problems not related to not reading the instructions?
I'll try again with the Lite version, and see if I can configure it better. I did read the instructions, maybe I was just too quick to dismiss it.
I tried this on my Acer and the Acer cover, but didnt seem to work. Also tried the lite version. I did play around with the settings abit but still nothing. Sorry
Hey I have a suggestion. I apologize if this is already a feature as I did not see it in the other thread. But if you're able to trigger screen locks and sounds and such, why not also add the ability to have it turn off/on wifi and/or 3g?
Interesting... i will look into it, thanks!

I'm getting a "miperractiv" message. Honestly not sure what it means or how it's affecting the phone. I do see a slight more battery drain than normal. Any idea what this may be?
Thanks

I get that message, but its rare. I haven't looked much into it, but I am curious about it. Please let me know if you find more about it. Thanks!
I get that message, as well. Have no idea what causes it, or what effect it has, though. Google doesn't find much info to help understand, either. I don't recall seeing the message before the MF9 update.
When in doubt.......... SEARCH!!
But basically what that thread says is that it has to do with WiFi... if you have Titanium Backup or a root explorer you can freeze/delete it and it is 100% confirmed to be safe to do that! I myself have done it and I haven't seen it since!
Hey, so lately I've been experiencing incredibly fast battery drain, I am confused of why this is happening, I rooted my phone and tried doing some things to improve it, but that didn't help. When I first got my phone the battery was extremely good. I've just recently flashed stock firmware but it's still terrible, does anyone know any tips or tricks, maybe the root of my problem? I'll drop some screenshots as well.

Try running "diagnose" under Smart Doctor and see if it comes up with a misbehaving app.

You should try update system apps from dedicated menu.
This does not look THAT bad. Really.
Snapchat... Facebook Messenger... Facebook dedicated app.
Also that battery monitor crap. Anything else similar to that installed?
These are true battery suckers, also try dealing with QuickMemo+ app, as previously mentioned.

You've got a point, will remove one of the battery monitors. I seem to be some improvement after the QuickMemo+ trick.
Although I really don't know any good Facebook & Facebook Messenger replacements. Those I tried were just not giving me full performance and they're not looking good.
Isn't there a way to disable Quickmemo+ without root ?

I'm experiencing the similar starting this month, and seems like the battery drain comes with heating surrounding the power button, are you seeing the same symptom?

Did you try LG hidden menu trick? To do that, you need to type *#546368#*870# in dialer and you'll see a hidden menu. Then, tap on SVC Menu > LDB > Untick "enable" (both options needs to be unticked) close the menu and restart it. Most of the users says that this method is also useable, you can give it a try.
Hey,i have been experiencing the same thing. For me is like android system and android os and phone idle eat battery as the same time as the screen. So that means i am using the phone and three things at the same time are eating the battery.I went down from 5 hrs sot to 3 and a half.I have done a lot of things like the hidden menu, the quicknote, conserve memory thing.I don't know why it does that and the phone is really heating up.I have not experience this level of heat ever on my g6.I use the h870 europe with january security patch.
You all call this bad backup?? Plz get your phone tested. See my phones's backup.. this backup with no in between charge
sounds like a rogue app, install better battery stats from play store and check results (it will ID apps chowing battery).
Hi guys,
I have to fire 7 in tablets both bought at the same time from same place. Both are running the same Lineage-12.1 ROM (12.1-20170802-Unofficial-ford)
But for some reason when i keep them side by side one of them has a very dull screen brightness where as the other is nice and visible. I am not sure if this has to do with the hardware or some missing setting in the one that is dull. I tried making both 100% bright from the upper menu but the screen difference is still the same.
The bottom image is the brighter one. Any idea if some setting somewhere is causing this?

On checking further I noticed that the tablet which is showing dull color seems to show the exact same even when I adjust the brightness slider in the top menu. When the slider is on 0 or 100% its the same. that tells me that the software slider is somehow broken?

Known kernel issue with custom ROMs. Symptoms typically rectified with a reboot. If no joy try a full power down with a 5 sec pause before restarting.

Sorry for the late response Davey126, for some reason it didn't post my reply when I used my cell phone the other day. I tried to restart a few times but still have the same screen issue the brightness controls dont respond. Will upgrading to the latest release help with this issue? Is there any other fix to permanently fix the problem?
Thanks for your help.
thanks,
Matt

Probably not. Likely have to sideload a full version of FireOS to refresh/replace the kernel - then start over. There is no known 'fix' for the problem other than keeping memory load to a minimum (or using the swap tweaks that I outlined elsewhere).
