I would say the photography quality is very "meh." Pictures are quite grainy/noisy in all light settings when zoomed in. The front camera is especially noisy.

I agree that photo quality from rear cameras are below my expectations - dirt cheap Pixel 4 makes much better photos in all regards. But I quite satisfied with selfie camera quality though. My concusion - don't buy this phone for camera quality only.

Same here. Very disappointing camera quality. But, it is OK anyway. Overall phone quality can compensate.

install another camera app. the "open camera" app is add-free and you can adjust the quality of both pictures and video(4k30fps) way beyond the standard.

The camera is not consistent, some pics look amazing mostly and other are very grainy and not sharp, look out of focus, regardless of the lighting conditions compare the pics to the ones taken on my S9+ and those are better than my Fold's. Can anyone share their experience with the camera?

I noticed the same thing, some pictures are out of focus for no reason.

Does this happen often to you regardless of the light conditions?

I haven't used the camera often enough to say "often", I just walked around the house mid-day taking pictures to test the camera, and several of them were out of focus. I did some testing yesterday with "A Better Camera" and got perfect results.

for some reason, samsung's software is lowering the shutter speed, instead of increasing the ISO, so in turn, will usually result in a blurry photo...
there have been others that say using the Pro mode with everything on Auto is a better solution.
unfortunately, pro mode is not available on the front facing and wide angle cameras.
pretty disappointing performance on the cameras really.
£2k phone with that bad picture quality is unbelievable.
I hope they will solve this with next update as camera is useless in my opinion.

I can definitely answer this one. The moto camera app is very very bad. At least for the front camera, it destroys photos with noise and blur. It is in really bad shape and I got a significantly better results using Gcam. I felt the need to inform you guys about this. Mind the front camera, it's worse than g7 plus, it's worth saying it doesn't record in 4k. I'm very upset by this. And it seems it's hardware
Try the GCam! The pics are much much better than with the stock camera app

Day time outdoor photography.
High res photos from the 64MP camera results in photos sized over 50MB (not uploaded here).
Low light outdoor photography.
Captured during an evening stroll around 6.30-7 PM.
Stock cam + LR

No OIS. EIS yes
Night Mode on stock camera is unacceptable. Noisy, rough, lacking detail, and artifacts everywhere. I use Google Camera for almost everything except Video recording(because gcam port is not fully working yet). The sideways photo is from the stock camera.
8 out of 10
Camera hardware is there but software is lacking.
Image processing is good but it struggles in low-light.
Google camera shows what the hardware is capable of and it's very good. Front camera is also good, but still struggles in low-light. Also, beauty mode is on by default which is just ridiculous.
Yeah i have forgotten that stock application even exists. Lat time I was using miui, tha cam also had contrast and sharpness. It doesn't now. Gcam is quite good at pushing the limits
Which gcam are you all using?
Huge noise in night time shots unless you have a tripod and your object is stable.
I had a bad experience while clicking photos at my friend's birthday. I tried every settings to capture low light photos but every photo has noise and faces are blur like hell. Very disappointed.

These pictures are great! Are you using the original stock rom or any custom rom?
The day I bought the phone, we took some pictures are we were very very happy with the picture quality. Then after one month I installed custom rom (EvolutionX / crDroid) and I noticed that the picture quality is not that great, not satisfactory . It doesn't matter which camera app I use, the result is not satisfactory.

Much better than I thought, and with the recent update giving the A71 5G the upscale camera options, you'd be hard pressed to find much fault. I'm loving the pictures I'm getting out of it on auto, and the manual controls are awesome. I've been able to pick out details in 64mpixels that have really surprised me when zooming in.
Seems good overall, but I'm a person who uses DSLR cameras.
Phones can never really capture what a DSLR can accomplish, especially if
you're using modern DSLR's.
If you can do everything a Canon EOS 50D and EOS 5D Mark IV can do with your phone,
then you've advanced a decade or more into what DSLRs are capable of.
Having said the above, here's my takeaway:
Image quality is overall excellent after pixel-peeping on my desktop's 4K monitors, which surprised me. Color accuracy, saturation and intensity seems to capture well. Contrast also appears accurately recorded.
Sharpness doesn't seem lacking, while noise also is impressively lacking under good lighting.
I've yet to try low-light conditions, so can't comment on that.
The ultrawide lens is actually very good. No doubt using software that's not visible, it produces an extremely good rectilinear image without a fisheye effect. I'd say it's wider than a 14mm lens on my full-frame Canon EOS 5D DSLR.
All in all, it's a higher-resolution output than my Canon S-series p&s camera, yet with similar picture detail and overall image quality.

It's Not bad ? and perfect for an cheap phone !
Yes I can take it for a trip and make slefies to save
If you are an instagram influencer that needs absolute top-tier camera quality for selfies, this phone's camera may not be for you. However, if you will only use the camera for memories, it's good, there's wide lens, macro lens and slow-mo camera. They may not have the best quality, but it's very good for a budget phone.
macro is very good(5MP) considering the price.main camera is also good as it is only 13MP.it lacks details though.....
In my opinion the camera is not too bad for everyday use, but when we need it for photography purposes we still need to use an editing application because it lacks detail and sometimes there is visible noise.
Stock camera app produces mediocre photos without great clarity. With Gcam from Gcamator, photo sharpness and overall quality is highly improved on the main sensor. Night mode in gcam is far superior to miui night mode. Unfortunately gcam does not support use for the ultrawide or macro lenses (my macro camera is broken anyways, maybe that's why). I'd use gcam for normal photos, night mode photos and selfies. You'd be forced to use stock or some other 3rd party app for ultrawide, macro and other features such as panorama, slo-mo and timelapse as they arent supported on gcam.
