solved by get the account data from seller to remove protection for factory reset
The seller would also have to remove the device from their Google Accounts device list. Otherwise if you ever decide to perform a hard factory reset on it, you will need to contact them again for assistance

Not if you enable OEM. That turns offf the FRP lock. Or you can add your Google Account and delete theirs. Just remember you will need yours if you factory reset.

I'm going to guess it is with a hard reset, but I don't want to mess with all the apps I downloaded. I was able to delete all my contacts so it is fine, but I'm thinking it might automatically sync up with my gmail and download my contacts or erase my contacts online after I sell the phone. What are my options?
or maybe I can set it to a different gmail, but how do I do that? Or maybe it is really simple, just change the password on my gmail account, that should work right?
Ok, changing my password worked, but now it seems to be stuck on asking for my password, but not giving the next person the option to change accounts, or how can I manually change it to a different gmail?
if you want to remove your details before selling the phone, try a factory reset. or you can go into the google app data in the applications management and clear the data there.
Yeah, I was able to clear all data, but was just concerned the phone would have my gmail password and access my data again so changing the password worked. It just got stuck asking for my password when I pretended to want to add phone number by syncing. I'm rebooting now too see what it asks for now.
But I guess there is no way to connect it to another gmail account without doing a factory reset? Doesn't a factory reset eliminate all the programs I installed that are non market? I can reinstall, but if I sell it to a noob they might have a problem.
Are you rooted? If so, there should be a setting in the development app to unsync with google. (I might be wrong though, deleted the app, lol).

AFAIK, that's a deliberate feature so that you can't pay for an app on one account and sign in with it on multiple phones, then unsync and keep the apps (thereby stopping people from getting apps from their friends for free).
Dude wtf? Just do a hard reset and it will ask you to log back into google. As long as you DON'T log back in, what on earth makes you think it's going to sync your contacts back up?

WTF r3s-rt!! wanna make something out of it, hehe jk. I guess you weren't reading the posts. It was already taken care of with changing my password in the edit. Also, I'm guessing you're a noob and don't realize a hard reset will put it into it's factory settings and I specifically said when selling it, I didn't want to give them a phone with nothing on it. It's all set up with wifi tether and a bunch of other cool things. I'll let the new buy purchase and decide what they want to do. Also, yes if just deleting all the info and not changing my password, but leaving it linked to my google it would indeed sync to my gmail if the new user so chose. I killed to birds by simply changing my gmail password. Of course it wouldn't sync after doing a hard reset, wtf!! geez

Most Rom's let you skip the signing google part, but it wont let you download anything from the market so you can install via adb

Will the new user not therefore be able to use their own Gmail without losing the apps you installed?
Having HTC Wildfire and now want to change Default gmail account being used by all app, mostly Gtalk. I have 5 Gmail accounts on my cell and want to switch between.
The only way i see is to Factory reset phone. By this i guess i will loose all paid apps !
Is there anyone who can help me out without getting my phone Factory Reset !!
Any help will b greatly appreciated !~~
If I understand you correctly you want to delete some of yours accounts and change them...you can do this: go to your mail..press menu..more...Account list-here you can change your accounts
And if you want to delete them...when you change your account go again : mail..press menu..more...settings..at the end you have delete account.
Hope I halp...
Cheers
Oh yea if I halp click thanks.
I had this problem. Accidently signed in to a Gmail account that wasn't my main one, and it was locked to that as primary I'm sure there is something in the system you could delete to revoke the linked account, but the easiest way is to just do a factory reset and/or reflash the ROM.
No you won't lose paid apps, unless you did something silly and bought apps on more than one Google account! Purchases are always locked to that specific gmail address, wiping the phone doesn't matter as soon as u login to market you'll see all the Purchased Items in there, ready to download.
Edit: give me 24 hours, ill see if I can find a way to do it via ADB/DroidExplorer.

UPDATE
My brother in law somehow managed to install ransomware on his sprint galaxy s7, me not knowing about removing it with safe mode went into recovery mode and did a factory reset. WELL now i know he forgot his gmail account and now I am dealing with Samsung's Factory Reset Protection, It was Very Frustrating to me not knowing this was the issue as I was under the impression that he knew his google account. So Currently I am trying to bypass this.
Does anyone know if he takes his device into the sprint store if they can verify it is his phone and lift this?
Is the only way to get it back is to either remember the account (how he forgot boggles my mind) or to do one of the bypass methods that have yet to be patched?
How do you restore the device? Will it work if the original Gmail account is used but with a new password or will it only work with the original Username and password?
It lets him set his gmail account and password but then it does the Verification Text which does not come through?
What Exactly is required to pass the Factory Reset Protection?
How do I resolve this issue?
Thanks for reading
this worked for me
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FVmcr13qDkI&t=0s
I can't believe someone on XDA would recommend another to Youtube!!. Those videos are a bunch of scammers trying to get everyone to do surveys now. Total crap.
Actually... Most of the YouTube videos DO work.. if you want to avoid surveys and etc, they have a feature called "comments".
Actually, That is CRAP. Not true at all.

Hey, how did you end up resolving this? I have the same issue on my end.
Resolved FRP
I resolved it on EBAY. Make sure the seller has 100% positive feedback. Since others are steering people to garbage on Youtube, I don't see why I can't give true answers
Hi
I recently sold my Samsung S7 Edge. Just before doing so I performed a factory reset on it. I couldnt find the option to do it through the normal settings (it wasn't in the backup and reset section, where online guides were saying it should be).
In the end I booted into recovery mode and factory reset it from there.
Now the new buyer has just contacted me to say that he can't login to the phone as it's asking for my login details, and can I give them to him and then quickly change my password, so he can login. Obviously I'm not going to do this!
But is it possible what he is saying is true and even though the phone has been factory reset it still needs my login details???
probably a scam or factory reset didn't work.
tell him to boot I to recovery and factory reset or use Odin to flash stock rom
I looked online and there's something called factory reset protection on android phones now. It stops someone stealing a phone and then factory resetting it and then using it. Basically I should of removed by Gmail account first before factory resetting it or failing that after I factory reset it logged in to the phone and then a new owner could have entered a new user account.
The buyer is being a real pain in the butt though. He keeps asking for my password, which I've told him I can't give him. He also only lives 20 mins from me and I keep suggesting we meet up and I'll sort it but he seems to think he has no time to do this!
Wow this website used to be the font of all knowledge but now it's deader than dead.
For anyone who does get in this situation, I spoke to Samsung tech help. And they told me I need to get the phone, login when prompted. Then go into the settings and delete my Google account, once done so factory reset the phone. Now the Factory Reset Protection (FRP) will be gone, so the buyer can input a new Google account.
Don't ever give your password to anyone. And yeah, you should've removed your G account before handing in the device.
However, as you said there is a solution, you can ask the buyer to follow these steps to bypass your Google account so he can login his:
https://www.unlockunit.com/blog/bypass-google-account-verification-factory-reset-protection/
After choosing the correct language please follow the next steps:
1. Connect the phone to a Wifi Network (preferably your Home network)
2. The next screen will ask you for the Google Account
3. Tap the text field in which the account should be inserted until the Keyboard comes up
4. Tap and hold the “@” character until a Settings menu pops up
5. Select Google Keyboard Settings
6. Tap on the 3 dots in the top part of the screen (or More depending on what Android OS you are running)
7. Select the Help&Feedback item and select any item in the list that will follow
8. Long press to select any text on this page and click on Websearch in the upper right corner
9. A search field will be shown (delete the text inside the search field)
10. Type Settings in the search field
11. Tap “About Phone” and tap 7 times on the Build Number to enable Developer Options
12. Return to the previous menu and open the Developer Option that just appeared
13. Allow OEM Unlocking and tap Back two times
14. Restart the device
15. Connect it to Wifi again
16. Notice how you won’t be prompted to log in the previous Google Account and instead the phone will ask you to ADD a new Google Account

Yes. Get the old gmail and password from your "other family member" and then factory reset the phone after that.
Boom, all yours.
