Help Debugging a sylvania smart watch - Other SmartWatches

Hi.
Recently I bought a smart watch made by Sylvania, And I don't exactly know how to debug it.
On the side of the packaging it says it has a MTK6261D processor, 32MB RAM and 32MB ROM, 8W pixel camera, and a TF card support of 32GB.
On the SD card I put in it, it created a bunch of basic folders and one interesting folder called "ZMAEE".
Right now, I want to put custom ROMS on it, but I need to know how to debug it first. Can anyone help me with this?

Maybe something here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/smartwatch/other-smartwatches/mtk6260-firmwares-t3306203

Diagnostic Micro SD

At page 37 of Hermes Service Manual a "Diagnostic Micro SD" is mentioned.
It's needed to perform some test as those available in mobile phones secret menu.
I ever wondered if such a test menu existed and now i found out that i need this "Diagnostic Micro SD".
No1 knows where i can get it's content? I think that the microSD has nothing special apart its content.
EDIT:
Its special content is HERMDIAG.nbh file. No1 knows where i can find it?
I´m also interested.
I'm very interested to.
Some news about this Diagnostic Micro SD card?

I am not aware that it has been leaked to the internet. We are still waiting for it.
If you google or otherwise search for HERMDIAG.nbh and find it you need to be sure it is the correct file. This is so because the name HERMDIAG.nbh is recognised by the Hermes as an over-ride name to allow access/flashing of a ROM image - there are a few files around called HERMDIAG.nbh which are NOT the HTC diagnostic image but images made by ROM cookers as a way to allow flashing their ROMs to the Hermes.
Mike
Thanks for warning me of the mix-up over the files...
I think anywhere that the HERMDIAG.nbh file is smaller than ROM's 50 MB (about)...
right?
yes i see that last post is very old but i assume that there's no need to open new thread about it - if i'm wrong sorry about it.
i just took a look at service manual for hermes and i am also interested to be able to perform tests visible in service manual so anyone here is able to give link or PM me one to this hermdia.nbh ?

I personally have not seen it around, though it may be out there somewhere.
(This is NOT the file but just for info. Anyone wanting to check battery and power usage - this is a handy tool:

thanks anyway Mike. this power detect tool looks interesting
I had a 20 minute search but couldnt find anything - just references to it in the service manual
hopefully someone will get their hands on it

I wonder why on Earth this HTC diagnostic tool is considered "top secret". My 4 years old SonyEricsson K700i cellphone has a similar tool built-in into regular ROM

two pennies is better than nothing
forgot to mention I know that it's possible from the storage card vantage because for a short while I ran opera portable from my phone that way ....so when I was at work I could use my own browser and minimize my footprint and control my information....worked like a charm...I wonder if it's possible to perhaps put a U3 type program on the phone where one could do more and have it boot on connect........that would be a nice app.... in theory you can put the suite they offer for free at http://portableapps.com haven't tried that but it should work

USB stick in disguise...

I want my HD's SD memmory to show as an USB memmory stick on my works computer... We can't connect PDA's (companies pollicy) but we can connect USB sticks....
Is there a program for Winmobile devices that does this for me ?
Like this?
http://cgi.ebay.com/SanDisk-8GB-Mic...205|66:4|65:12|39:2|240:1309#ebayphotohosting
Is this what you mean?
you dont need a program.
start - settings -connections - usb to pc - select "disk drive" radio button. it will look like a drive to windows like this.
N.B. you can only see the MicroSD card though, you cant navitgate the rest of the phone.
Yes, there is....
The best application that meets your requirements is Card Export by Softick. This application allows you to use your PPC (Memory) as a memory stick. It allows you to switch the device between AcytiveSync and USB Memory mode, and vice versa straightforwardly: excellent.

hello? did you read my post? you can tell the HD to ask you how you want to connect everytime you plug in the usb cable: ActiveSync or Disk Drive. YOU DONT NEED TO INSTALL ANYTHING.
Frustin is fully right - you don't need anything. In addition, notice that you don't need activesync if you are using it as an external drive, just the usual USB drivers. So it is very convenient to move files around different machines...
in particular, you don't need wmstorage or similar as with older htc models...
cannot avoid stating once more, after two weeks of use: this is the greatest windows mobile device i never had...
Really? Sorry!

Thank you...
Seams a strange question to even ask considering every time you connect your phone to a PC it actually asks you which mode to use to connect with!

It's a bit naughty to give advice on a product you dont own, even if you think you might know. Had Lord.Bachus could have gone out and bought a product on the back of that advice, he would have been very peaved when he found out he didnt have to.
No contribution!

No one is as stupid to buy a product without evaluating it, first when it includes a a trial period (you may be the sort of people who complain to have bought an application and found out it does meet his/her requirement).
Besides that, I am not too sure of this option. As for not owing a product (owing to delays from mobiles.co.uk), it is at least dull to claim that just for the fact of not owing a specific device I cannot advise of particular aspect, of it when these devices run on a common platform!
Anyhow, I see no point in your response (not constructive at all); you could at least, if you have the device, show this setting to Lord.Bachus and everyone else who is unaware of it.
I debated over answering this however...

In any case, the solution I mentioned differs from yours: it shows the current free memory and allows to set the memory card to read-only. In addition, it allows for boh modes to be changed quickly. Thus, it is more advanced. People want various solutions to enable them to make final the decision themselves not imposed on them.
The fact that you suggest Copilot for a query on navigation software does not imply no one else can advise on alternative solutions, such as Tomtom...

This application, which is merely under 200KB in size only disables ActiveSync and load univesal mass storage drivers...why will not be compatible at that level. It may not disaply full sceren on a 480*800 display, but urely it not be incomptible! This is the current situation of most software when used on WVGA devices.

That my friend is the philosopher stone of the Hermes community... You hear about it but you just can't seem to find it on ANY site.... Apparently its supplied to the techs on an sd card but NO-ONE seems to have, or been able to, upload the software.

Hey guys!
Try here: http://8g.cn/Search.aspx?Keywords=htc
I found the UN-Findable Trindiag.nbh here. I was amazed after searching for 2 years, it was here.
Anyways, be sure to browse all 125 items. You can change pages at the bottom. Not sure what it says, since it's Chineese, but I was able to fumble my way through it.
Also, for more info, try changing the tab at the top of the search window and run the search again. I've found more stuff that way.

hermdiag.nbh
Note this file is the diagnostic nbh, NOT to be confused with nbh files of the same name created by some ROM Chefs. They use this same name because the device automatically looks to load files by this specific name in preference to loading pre-installed software on the phone.

Copy it to the Root of your SD Card and enter BootLoader. But, be aware that it may cause a Hard Reset and possibly clear all your call counters. At least on the Trinity this is how it acts.
Also, be aware that it may cause other damage not mentioned, so use at your own risk... I've used the Trinity & Kaiser versions with no damage, but just know this in case.

MTK2502C Development

I just bought an Apple Watch clone purely out of curiosity. It was £60 delivered and YouTube reviews seemed good enough, so I thought I'd give it a go.
Whilst it's perfectly usable, I feel like they could have done a much better job on the OS. Everything is fixed in terms of colours and styles (minus 2x UI options and a few rubbish clock faces) and generally it feels a bit 'basic' and rushed.
I've been searching for ages trying to find out if there's a way of somehow 'opening up' the OS (using an SDK?) and changing some simple things like colour codes, and then maybe learning more and tweaking watch faces etc. I'm new to that kind of thing but I do programming on other devices.
I can't find anything at all on MTK2502C development. There's a few bits on MediaTek's website, a couple of Russian forums with files that go to dead links, and that's about it.
Does anyone know of any options with devices like this? The chip is reasonably popular in Asian markets it seems, as I've seen it on Moto 360 clones and other Chinese watches - so I figured it would have some info somewhere?
Thanks
Yes man, I have worked on a rebranding (changing watchfaces according to the store profile)
So yes, I've made kind of development
Wow really? I expected no response to this at all!
I want to say "How do you do it" but I fear that's too much of a blanket question. Do you have any links/advice in getting started with this, even if it's just dipping in and changing colour codes etc? Any resources you can share would be really helpful.
Thanks

Cool sounds interesting.
My watch is from this listing which suggests it's made by Goophone (however I haven't seen it on Goophone's website):
http://www.dhgate.com/product/new-goophone-smart-watch-mtk2502c-1-54-inch/165103941.html

On the watch itself it gives the Version number in the 'About' section which may or may not be useful:

The series "it may be" the most important detail yes you have exactly the watch we are talking about. First of all, for any case you have to do a firmware extraction from your own phone, just to avoid all kind of unwanted events (if you speak about index table of colors makes me believe you already got over "readback breaktrough")
So the project consists in a firmware matrix having instead watch faces some markers (markers for main watches as well as for preview ones), you get it, start a small app (Mtk Res) where, by loading ROM file you become able to insert instead markers 240x240 gifs for main skins and 150x150 gifs for preview, save, flash the resulted firmware and tada
check here the stuff - link -
feel free to ask for any kind of clarifications

Ah, I'm sorry, reading the main post in thread I thought you already was playing with Flash Tool and so on
So, you have need of Flash Tool and drivers (attached), install drivers, TURN OFF your watch start flashtool under xpsp3 compatibility as administrator, go add scatter file (the one you find in firmware you got from me) after press memory test /(ONLY) ram test, press start and connect the phone, if the phone got connection will show a report of your NOR flash, whatever, good made the link, disconnect the phone, get here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/sma.../readback-extractor-mtk6260-firmware-t3289272 - and do first 5 steps (at third step instead 0x01000000 you have 0x00800000) and after come to me with the 8MB file, I can rebuild your firmware. Now from this moment you can do flashing, means press download (which means in fact flash) and connect the phone
OK I got as far as the RAM test but it sits at "0% waiting". I'm guessing it hasn't picked it up on the COM ports. Any ideas how to get around this?

Ok so I managed to disable driver signature checks and run the RAM test, it worked! here's a screen shot. I'll now work on the next part.
I've got to the next step re the 5 steps on the link you shared, but the address that defaults in FlashTool is not what was expected:
Shall I just go ahead with these settings?
Ok I had a go anyway. I did one file without changing the setting, and the next file changing the second address field to 0x00800000.
I have attached a zip of both files. ROM_DZ is the first one (no address change) and ROM_DZ_2 is with 0x00800000 entered.
(I know my phone isn't a DZ model but wanted to follow instructions :laugh
What happens now?
Thanks

You did very well man! now wait for me to confirm you have a solid ROM dump and to rebuild from it your original firmware. Then I will check if your firmware is primary compatible with the project and if everything is ok you can start change watch faces by your taste in the matrix file and flash it in your phone
So, everything is fine, here - link - you get your original firmware, extracted from the ROM dump you made, keep it somewhere in safe, if anything goes wrong in your flashing adventure you come back to this firmware and your watch will be like new
Now get back to the first files I gave you, the project firmware (hope you got them already) W300GG_02C_WATCH - MOD WF FULL, for the beginning flash it in your watch (choose scatter file from project firmware, press download and connect the phone), in this way you'll understand what's the catch, instead watch faces and preview watch faces you'll find markers. Now, that you understood the trick go back to computer, open Mtk_Res V1.3 ( here you find a brief tutorial about) and start to change the markers you find with watchfaces from mobile plus - full set new watch skins archive I've sent you initially, be attentive, 240x240 are for watchfaces and 150x150 are for preview ones. Once you think is ready save it as in tutorial and after flash it in your watch - and TADA! New watchfaces for your watch!
Before anything, do a copy of W300GG_02C_WATCH - MOD WF FULL firmware and keep it in safe, you'll have need for next time when you'll want another set of watchfaces on your phone!
Keep me informed about how things are going
