Android 11/One UI 3.0 Beta (Snapdragon) - Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra Guides, News, & Discu

Looks like the last thread was turned into an Exynos thread. Here is one for SDs. Anybody been able to enroll yet? I still haven't gotten the banner hopefully get it in the next day or 2.

Same here

N986U1 on AT&T. No banner in members app yet...

Nothing on n9860

n986W Rogers/Canada. Assuiming I won't see it. Is there a way to flash it to another SD varient?

Samsung US employee Rydah on Twitter said "maybe later" but most likely FRIDAY before the banner/registration will be posted. He's in Pacific time, so probably based on their timezone.
They are still doing internal tests and will compile a "Z" build from it if it's stable enough for public consumption.

Just enrolled and downloading in korea.

I'm wondering as well. I'm in Canada and using an Unlocked n986w. Not sure if we will get the beta

I have a Verizon branded ultra that I flashed to U1 firmware. Is there anything I will be able to do to get the beta or am I outta luck?

Tmo unlocked as well and no banner.

Tmo unlocked, no banner, but I've seen this as a build version? N986NKSU1ZTJH

Is everyone checking the notifications in the app until the little bell?

Actually a lot of companies release stuff on Friday. That helps them avoid bad press as well as too much negative exposure and gives them time to rollback and fix if something goes wrong (They fix over the weekend coz apparently developers have no life )

Samsung Canada starts ICS rollout

The time has finally come; Samsung has started the rollout for the ICS today. This also includes ICS for the Galaxy Note.
I'm not from there, so I still have to wait, as do a lot. But some of you must be clicking the update button on their Notes right about now, if you're from that region.
Let us know how you like it, and let's hope that the rest of us will get it soon as well!
Finally!
I hope us sim-free owner are not left till last.
John.
Nice to see some update on the ICS for note. Now I am sure there would be many more stable rom's based on the new ICS by our chef's which will only improve the experience better.
Hail Samsung Hail XDA - though will have to wait until Indian version is released.
Finally, some good news about rolling out ICS for the Galaxy Note!
Who knows when will it come to Serbia and Europe, but glad to see some progress. I'm happy with the phone as it is right now but I'm excited about the update.
Canadian eh?
Yeah, you're one of the lucky few for now
Do they use the same N7000? If so we should expect sammobile to have the odin flash tar soon
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2
if you're buying unlocked/sim-free i guess you're at the bottom of the list now.

Someone get that **** and post it. Mfw
Totally defies logic that sim free folks get left till last.
i highly doubt they will leave us sim free/unlocked for last. Just doesn't seem right. But then again this is samsung so you never know what they'll do.
I think the phone networks help with the testing, also add branding at the same time, no help with testing sim-free phones for compatibility, that can have any networks sim card installed.
John.

if thats the case then is similar to the ATT version as in....not much interesting here to see...
if anything an european or asian (non china version) will be something to watch for
I wounder why they picked Canada, do the USA and Canada use the same frequency? , so they are they the guinepig`s for the USA, not such a big a mess if the update bricks a load of their phones
John.
so ,some one had update for Note ?or only s2 in canada .fuc.k samsung
Is there an app to automatically check for an update, say every 30 mins or so, just leave it running.

EE UK (EVR) 5.1.1 update

Thought it would be an idea to start a new thread to keep track of who (and if) has got the udate which is mourned to be released at midnight tonight.
Personally I'm not holding my breath after the run around EE and Samsung have given me, I'd be very surprised to wake up to a pending software upgrade in the morning though.
Please post here if you see the 5.1.1 update on the EVR CSC please so we can keep track.
Thanks!
Interesting.
Mine was EVR but I changed to BTU. Was fed up of waiting!
This the first or second 5.1.1 update that they're releasing?
This'll be the first. Nothing yet but I know its only been 2 hours.still can't see it happening though!

And still nothing. Knew it was too good to be true.
@FSOP where did you hear the update would be today? on the EE forums I cannot find anyone from ee saying this however they do state that the mem leak is going to be fixed as per samsung but again im finding this very hard to believe that ee would have a fixed mem leak and other software versions wouldnt any info tho FSOP would be appreciated
I see the post about it being out at midnight tho seems tho EE are basing this on "outside information" are we really going to see this today I wonder lol

all im getting is finger ache from pressing check for update, told you its mission impossible ee protocal
Yep, doesn't look like we're getting it today
They could be getting confused with the new M9 update that enables WiFi calling?...
Just had a call from EE 2nd line about the ticket I have open for wifi calling, asking if the new update had fixed it.
Told them I haven't had the update, and I've even tried to force it so I was put through to someone on 3rd line who checked and said it was 100% released and some people will have got it today, but they are doing 10k a day and they say it should take roughly a week for all their eligible S6 handsets to get it, so all we can do is sit tight unfortunately.

Looks like you may be charging that thing for a while, then. Seems that even the T-Mobile version is subject to the plague that is the locked bootloader for right now. Hopefully someone can figure something out or Samsung releases something along the lines of HTC's bootloader unlock for us. For once, the Snapdragon appears to be more crippled than the Exynos.
Yeah. I wouldn't count on anything any time soon. Not days, not weeks....
If you want a root able device. I would suggest taking the phone back.

You must not get on here much. This is the biggest story lately and the reason why everyone is mad/frantic.
TMOBILE locked the bootloader John is playing us after 14 days when return period is up he will tell you guys Samsung said no its has nothing to do with Samsung it's the u.s carriers with the new leasing programs, warranty exchanges, and unauthorized tethering...They are losing money from phones which have been rooted

I understand everyone being upset about the latest development but some need to calm down a bit. Not saying it's anyone in this thread though some comments are a bit over the top. Maybe some people are new around here or others have the memory of a goldfish but this isn't' the first time this has happened to a device. There are a multitude of ways around this. Motorola who is known for locking bootloaders with almost a hatred for consumers, was defeated with the combined effort of many people on XDA. They managed to find the key to unlock the bootloader and it was smooth sailing from there.
Will we obtain the key? Quite possibly. we'll either do it the hard way and get lucky running a program on multiple computers and phones to decrypt it. The other option is that it'll be leaked by an internal source (probably the most likely). Samsung might even give us a dev program to unlock it similar to HTC. The fact is Samsung doesn't want a large customer base to be this unhappy. We are the most influential consumer base as well. Think of all the changes and additions to Android over the past few years. Changes that started here first and were adopted by manufacturers. They use us and in a way, need us to show them what people want. Let's not forget that XDA is the most influential Android site on the net. If Samsung gets snuffed here badly it'll spread very quickly.
TL;DR It'll happen one way or another guys. Chill out. May not be in the time frame we're use to these days (remember waiting weeks to months for root back in the day?) but it will happen. focus on pressuring those who can exact change into doing so. For the ones capable of it you should focus on ways around this.
I for one am not worried. I had a Motorola Defy that had a locked bootloader. By the time I had bought the phone though it had been out for a few months and people had found a way to put custom roms on it so I was happy.

[Q] Verizon Galaxy S7 Nougat update.

Hi everybody.
Do anybody know when Verizon Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge Nougat update and reason to delay?
I cannot make sense ever major provider(such as AT&T,Tmobile,Sprint) is updated but Not Verizon.
Thanks.
I wouldn't be surprised if Verizon didn't get the update until after the announcement/release of the S8.

Yep. It's really disappointing.
Why? Because f**k us, that's why!
Likely just an issue of them taking their sweet-assed time putting their bloatware applications into the firmware, and I'm sure they've been extra slow after the official 7.0 worldwide rollout started and was halted for a whole like 2-3 days after a couple of bugs surfaced.
I always get a new phone by the time Verizon gives me an update. I know someone that got nougat on his T-Mobile GS7 Edge and someone that got her GS7 update last night on Sprint.

I don't think it's related to Verizon bloat considering the turbo 2 is getting the update now. I'm really annoyed that one of the top selling, highest rated phones of the year is taking this long to update.

This! Get it together verizon, every other S7 is getting the update why aren't we? Kinda furstrating and makes me want to leave verizon or starting purchasing unlocked models so I can root them and get updates on a regular basis instead of waiting for Verizon to release an official.
Le Sigh
Verizon has always been one of the last (if not the last) to roll out updates.

It would be nice to receive the final update after being stuck on the beta for months, where every time my phone shuts off it resets all my settings and themes. But oh well, I guess Verizon just doesn't care about their customers all that much.

I'm sure you have and of course you'd have to be comfortable with the procedure. But should you change your mind, know that the instructions around for doing so are fairly simple, and converting back to VZW is a cinch, I've done it myself and it was a two-step process (change cid back to VZW and run ruu).
