I am new to android kernel build stuff. So please forgive me if this is not the right platform to raise this query.May i know the steps involved in building the kernel? I am trying to build the stock kernel updated by oneplus in github. Any help or supporting links about kernel compilation will be of utmost help to me. Thanks!

Kernel devs most likely uses scripts to compile their kernel which you can probably find in their github and adapt for yourself

Hey Everyone
Just looking for help to compile kernels for this phone. For my previous u8150 I followed Alan Orth's guide here:
http://mjanja.co.ke/2011/06/compiling-custom-kernels-on-the-huawei-u8150/
as well as using and modifying his kernel source mostly to tweak governers and schedulers.
I am getting compile errors which prevent the source from building. I have used the config.gz from DZO's oxygen and have tried to build both franco Kernel and 2.6.35 from huawei both with no joy.
Anyone want to post a step by step to help me and others get into kernel building more?
Thanks
'Paul
Hi! I'm the head of the AnikOS community that is devoted to Linux Security Solution developing. For some time already we are porting some of our patches for linux kernel (especially GRSecurity-based) to 3.1.10 android kernel for some devices.
Some time later I'd like to introduce you the first working ALPHA version of this kernel named AnikOS Droid Kernel for TF101.
You can also read some useful information about AnikOS project here.
If you have any suggessions that need to be applied in our kernel so you are welcome with advices ;-)

I am new in kernel developing and i started learning development by compiling kernel from source for samsung j3 pro (2016). I downloaded its kernel source (J320F / LL swa INS ) from samsung opensource site And gcc toolchain arm-eabi 4.8.
I followed available guide on net step by step for compiling and i its successfully compiled without an error and my zimage is created but when i flashed this kernel i got bootloops.
ANY SUGGESTIONS IS GREATLY APPRECIATED
i getting error on making modules too. I searching fix each error.
I enabled module in menconfig but failed to make
I have also compiled kernel available on github for j320fn with variant-defconfig for j320f but same result.
Any one have knowledge about this please instruct me
I have tried the tutorials that are available on XDA, but it looks like this kernel is unable to be built outside of an Android project, but maybe I am doing something wrong.
How does one actually build the kernel that is provide by Lenovo. Is it possible to build the kernel by itself using the source provided by Lenovo?
.
The kernel source is here:
