Hey Everyone
Just looking for help to compile kernels for this phone. For my previous u8150 I followed Alan Orth's guide here:
http://mjanja.co.ke/2011/06/compiling-custom-kernels-on-the-huawei-u8150/
as well as using and modifying his kernel source mostly to tweak governers and schedulers.
I am getting compile errors which prevent the source from building. I have used the config.gz from DZO's oxygen and have tried to build both franco Kernel and 2.6.35 from huawei both with no joy.
Anyone want to post a step by step to help me and others get into kernel building more?
Thanks

Hi,
I am new with custom ROM and Android kernel things.
I successfully boot my phone with my kernel compiled from source with Google toolchain. And someone suggested to me to use Linaro toolchain.
Then I went through this page https://android-build.linaro.org/ to get some idea, seems none on Mako.
Any suggestion?
I am using arm-linux-androideabi-4.6 tool chain now for kernel compiling.
Hello guys,
My kernel ( KTmanta) is compiled by myselif suing a a15 optimized toolchain. Boots, working nice, however, any build with 4.8, 4.9, will stay at loading screen forever.
Any one can help me out , or might know the source of the problem?? I used once adb bugreport but haven't found interessting stuff(or at least I think)
Thank you.
Suggestion: have you tried building the kernel with another (prebuilt) toolchain, that includes GCC 4.8, 4.9? Maybe you missed something?
Search in forum "JustArchi's ArchiDroid Optimizations" (sorry, I cannot post links).
In that thread there are some patches for fix not booting kernel with gcc 4.8.
Hi all,
I like to try tweaking and hacking my phone. I've tried some ROMs on my kugo for some time, but I figured I wanted to make my own personalized build. Right now, I'd like to use the 'Night Light' app from F-Droid, which requires KCAL support. In order to enable KCAL I'd need to edit the stock kernel (I know this can be done, it was the case for Genesis Kernel on Nougat).
Hence I'd want to learn to compile a kernel, but I can't get to the end of Sony's tutorial. I've downloaded the kernel source but I am totally lost with defconfig files. How should I configure the kernel ? There is no obvious choice for a defconfig, and I can't get past point #6 in the tutorial..
Given that I've just discovered kernel compilation today, would someone be kind and take some time to maybe point me to useful doc, give me a clue as to what my next step could be, or teach me how they compile kernels for their device ?
Many thanks for any help,
Cheers
TLDR. How to compile a kernel? I have Sony's source for kugo, but don't understand how to configure the kernel compilation.
I am new to android kernel build stuff. So please forgive me if this is not the right platform to raise this query.May i know the steps involved in building the kernel? I am trying to build the stock kernel updated by oneplus in github. Any help or supporting links about kernel compilation will be of utmost help to me. Thanks!

Kernel devs most likely uses scripts to compile their kernel which you can probably find in their github and adapt for yourself
