Overscan Issue on Rooted Joying Intel Airmont SC9853i - Android Head-Units

This is a JY-HOS01N4GS-1 8.8" model specifically. It rooted just fine, and due to the installation (it's going to be installed UNDER a factory bezel) there needs to be a screen overscan for padding on the left and right sides. I've found two apps that do this well, but haven't been able to connect via ADB to try to command the overscan pad that way.
Where I'm running into issues, is that it seems anything baked into the OEM rom (or just the OEM rom itself), that being Google Maps, Settings Menu's, phone/dialer, etc.......don't respond well to the overscan. They constrained to the reduced screen width I commanded (in Screen Resizer for example, left count of 62 and right of 25, and in Screen Shift I went 3 left and 1 right), but the right side of some apps gets cut off, and in Google Maps case, it drops about 1/4 of the screen from the left side to just a white box as seen in the picture. You can also see on the menubar up top the constrained area is grey and the background doesn't follow.
Trying to see if there's any kind of workaround for this. Anyone have any ideas?

[Q] Screen Issue : Triggering by itself in one corner

As per subject, the top right of the screen (in landscape mode) occasionally triggers itself (and so is the bottom right when in portrait) I've cleaned it. Could this be a cable issue or could gunk between the bezel and the screen cause it? I have another one lying around with a cracked screen so switching the cable is do-able but it's not a task i want to undergo on a whim. Anyone any clues?
Edit: By "Trigger" i mean for example that the clock preferences show up or the battery status as if you'd pressed the icon. Sometimes the whole thing locks up but I expect that's due to it thinking that there is a spot being pressed somewhere and is blocking my other input attempts.

[Q] Problem with Artflow app: active border (press and hold) not working with stylus

Hello,
I'm having some problems when using Artflow app in my gigabyte tegra note 7.
The stylus support is very good, drawing with the thinner part os the stylus you get thinner lines, with broader parts of the chisel you get broader strokes etc.
The problems i have is with the "active border" it's a section on the side of the screen (by default left side) that allow for a quick access to modify transparency level and size of the brush.
It's supposed to work like this, you press and hold for a few seconds (like 2) near the border of the screen, a slider popsup and when you slide up or down you change brush size, or transparency, press and hold at any other place you get to use the "pickup color" tool (this can be changed in the program settings to use another tool).
With the stylus i can't use neither the active border nor the pickup tool. If i use a finger i can access the pickup tool quite easyly but the active border is also very hard to use (like 1 out of 6 tries it pops up). This has been the behaviour since i have the tablet, and i have tried with all rom official version with the same results.
I have the same problems to use the undo or redo shortcuts on the left uppper and lower corners.
Yesterday i flashed shaky156 kernel (http://forum.xda-developers.com/nvidia-tegra-note-7/orig-development/kernel-t2813892) and the touchscreen-issue-fix (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2787574), after installing both, wiping davik and cache and rebooting when i started artflow suddenly i could use active border with the stylus, and oh it was a joy, but after i started a new draw in artflow it went back to "normal" non-working stylus for the press and hold tasks.
But it had me wonder what may be the couse of my issue. First thing i'd like to know is if someone else is having this problem.

Lost touch response on status bar

.I have an Erisin unit for VW, running the latest Malaysk OREO ROM.
I have an issue with touch response on the status bar! It only accepts touching on the far right edge so only the "back button" works. When I try to calibrate the touch scree, point no 1 at the far left corner cannot be touched so I touched just bellow the status bar to make the unit operable. The result is a non properly calibrated panel. The lower part works well but the further up I go, distance between my finger and the point grows bigger. I activated the touch feedback on developer options at least to be able to know where I am pointing.
Trying a factory reset (had to re-installing everything from the beginning) did not solve the problem.
Any ideas?

First impression of my new Pumpkin 10.2" unit AA04121B-D01

I did it again....
Since last weekend I have the new Pumpkin here and test it extensively at my test place before I install it in the car.

Data
Scope of delivery:
2 DIN Unit
10.1 inch glossy screen, with metal frame
Cable set with 2 USB ports
User manual English/German
PX5
64-bit 8-Core Cortex-A53 1.5GHz
Android 9, build number 201907251651
MCU: CSN2_06252ß19_163051 (Despite this MCU the device is obviously a KLYDE device)
Here again an information to the MCU:
It is a PX5, but with a newer mainboard. The CSN2 devices are not firmware-compatible to the known PX5 boards, so there are no custom-roms at the moment.
First impression:
I must say, the first impression is very good.
The first startup was done after about 20 seconds.
The original launcher is as usual from Punpkin, as well as the apps included.
What's new:
Additional USB on the front panel
2 micro SD trays on the front panel
Volume control knob (illuminated)
Knob for App switching (illuminated)
App called "Tachograph," a new app for the Pumpkin USB-Dashcam.
Caravan, an app that supports rear view camera and front camera and you can switch between both cams. (did not try it...)
Sync (I don't know what it's for yet)
CD player for external CD players
An app called "Joykey Study" for certain OEM-Key-Pads, I have to do some research myself...
VoiceControl App Looks like an app for Apple's friends. The app doesn't work for Android phones (at least for mine).
The Settings menu was cleaned up, also the menu for the "factory settings". Here you don't find the strange menu anymore, but it's neatly clean arranged. Unfortunately not in German, but I think you can live with that.
Display of the battery voltage in the status bar is now possible in the "Personal settings".
Also the settings of the phone can be displayed now. Here you can see the field strength and the battery status at the top of the status bar.
The radio runs very smoothly and I was able to install all the apps I needed without any problems. Root was possible with the well-known ADB method without any problems.
The screen is connected to the radio with a flat cable plug, just slide it on and click into place.
You can turn the screen with a little effort in all directions and the holder makes a very stable impression.
First Tests:
The working temperature is important for me. With active route guidance, DAB+ active in the background, Blitzer.de active, the temperature stays ~60°C... and that without any optimization.
Yesterday I installed the radio. The first thing I noticed was, that Pumpkin is finally keeping the usual EUR installation dimensions for this radio. My previous radios always needed a reworked installation frame. A new frame is therefore due because the existing frame was reworked to fit my other units....
Potential for improvement:
Developer menu is password protected. The PW is even not known at Pumpkin. It's marked as secret... But i´m on it.
I got the information from Pumpkin that the new Android 9 design from Pumpkin is still in work. I'm curious when that will come. So I'll show you some pictures as soon I will get it from them.
On my car the phone keys don't work right now, they are not recognized by the app. So I had to change my voice key so that I can answer a call via the steering wheel and hang up (double assignment of the actions goes via long click).
Recommendation:
For me its´s a clear YES, because I don´t need any custom rom. I just use another launcher.
Please comment on the 10-inchness implementation
Did you have to cut into your car plastics? Or does it stick out an leave a gap? Was there a snug adapter with no gaps and no cutting?
Does it tilt/rotate? If it does, does it stay in place when you are operating it or wiggle under your fingers? Does it stay still on bumpy roads? Etc.

Click to collapse
The unit is exactly 2-DIN large so there is no gap and nothing has to be cut from cockpit plastic at all.
The screen stays completely in place even when placing the hand on the top and using the thumb for a screen touch on bumpy roads.
... and yes, it stays still on bumpy roads.
For my car (Mitsubishi ASX) I need a car specific adapter, because the OEM unit is 2-DIN high but about 6cm wider than 2-DIN but with just a 6" screen and lousy firmware/UI and OS. The adapter I buyed needed to get cut, because nearly all 2-DIN chinese units are not really 2-DIN, they are a bit larger. To get the chinese units in my car, I had to cut the hole larger.
With the new unit I would be able to use the original size... so I have to buy a new one.... unfortunately...
You can tilt and rotate the screen to get rid of any glare and you can move the screen up and down, to get the right position at your dashboard.
Until now I don´t see any bad behavior.

Dasaita PX6 7" - touchscreen partially working

Hello,
i have Dasaita PX6 7" without hardware buttons and some time ago the touchscreen started to do strange things like i'm driving and i hear the media makes *bop* sound as if i've touched the power touch-button and the screen goes off or it launches a program as if i've touched the screen over where it's icon is.
Now it seems it stopped doing all this but a portion of the screen is just not working, not responding to touch.
The pic of the unit is from the web but mine is the same. I did the color rectangular areas tho to show and say - the green area is responding to touch, the red area is not responding
I write for over a week to Dasaita on Aliexpress where i bought the unit for solution or for new screen - they just read, no answer. I also write to their FB page - no answer.
Because the portion of screen which is not active i can't drag and drop icons from other screens to main screen - i have mouse, but i cant select and drag. Any suggestions?
And please tell me if i can fix this touchscreen (maybe it delaminated somewhere and its not making contact) or where i can get new (because of high chance to ruin this when trying to fix it).
Thank you
Have you ever recalibrated the touch screen?
I don´t know how it works on yours, but for a couple of units it works like all 5 fingers touch at the same time and hold it until you get a marker on the upper left screen.
Touch it as exact as possible and do that for all corners as you get the touch point visible.
For the buttons on the left side you should have a setup in the settings menu.
Hi, i watched videos about the 5 fingers touch but it doesnt activate on mine.
I entered the factory menu /with the 126 password/ where are similar functions and tried them several times just to be sure - no change.
The buttons on the left side are part of the touchscreen even tho they are on the black stripe, its jsut painted, it dosn't matter.
BR
In this case you should get in contact with Dasaita and/or the seller.
May be there is an issue with the controller or firmware.
