Hi guys,
i recently received my iTech R35 A2DP Bluetooth Headset for my Touch HD which is identical to HTC BH S100 since its only rebranded.
Pairing, controls and everything works fine, but when playing music the connection constantly gets lost for short terms regardless of the distance between the phone and the Headset.
The weird thing about it is, that the headset works perfectly with my friends HD. He even could go away like 10m without any kind of interruption.
I already tried some different settings with HD Tweak but no improvement.
Besides I noticed that overall bluetooth performance with my phone, as it once took about 30 minutes to send a 50MB file, isn't that good.
Thanks for any help!
Update:
I tested the Headset today with two other phones (SE W950i and some Nokia). It worked perfectly so I figure something has to be wrong with my phone. I'll perform a hard reset on the weekend and see if it changes anything. Otherwise I'll have to contact the customer service.
Has anybody here experience with german support. If I had to send the phone in, how does it usually take til u get your phone back?
Well, I just performed the hard reset and it solved the issue. Very strange since I hadn't installed that much programs.
Well, the problem returned and I now figured it out in detail.
There's no correlation with the programs installed.
Once the Bluetooth headset is in the Bluetooth-Device-List as it was connected before the constant lags are there.
If I delete it and re-pair the headset the lags are gone for this one time until the headset got disconnected. Even if I get out of range and return in reach connection is crappy from then on.
Didn't anybody recognize such a strange behaviour too?
I have a similar issue with my Sony Ericsson HBH-IS800 phones.
I thought I'd solved it by re-pairing with the handset, and initially that pairing seemed to last for a while, but now it seems I have to re-pair at least once a day to avoid the stuttering (it's really bad, isn't it?)
Frankly, I'm getting pretty disenchanted with my HD. Every time I discover a tweak which sorts an issue, another issue raises its head. I've lost count of the many hours I've spent trrying to get it to work as it ought to.
Wishing I'd got an iPhone. Okay it's not as good on paper, but at least everything works....
I have to agree the bluetooth is dodgy for me at the best of times in trying to connect to any computer.
Surprisingly, Ive had a good file transfer between my HD and MaxOSX, I can't say the same for Windows XP or Vista where on both accounts it has failed to connect via bluetooth to perform an active sync.

Thanks for your information. At least I'm not the only one with this issue.
Meanwhile I tested this behaviour with my buddies HD and it's the same pattern with his one.
I contacted german support today and will report after their answer.
i've been having the exact same problems with my hd. i would be able to pair it with my landrover, but then the connection would be lost. (there's another thread on this somewhere).
anyway, i tried installing BTRestore and BTRestart along with Mortscript and a custom script to help keep the bluetooth active. however, my problem was not that the bluetooth was turning off, but that the connection would not stay active.
so i installed a custom rom, Dutty's version 1.7, and also installed jetware bluetooth program (www.jetwaremobile.com); so far so good (*fingers crossed*). this is my 3rd day and the bluetooth works great. the phone connects with the car instantly, my phonebook works and i can make and receive calls without losing the connection.
so maybe updating the rom will help you too.
Sorry, it's been a while since HTC answered my questions but since their answer was quite disappointing I had no rush to post it.
Summarized they told me the HTC BH S100 was not compatible with the Touch HD even though I pointed out that it's in compatibility-list of the Diamond and both are running the same Chipset and OS and that it works fine after the first pairing.
As I'm tired of reconfiguring my phone I'll wait some time to flash another ROM. I hope WM 6.5 will be released soon and fix this problem, too.
Good morning fellow forum member. I've recently begun having some significant bluetooth connectivity issues with my continuum and Ford Sync system in my 2011 Fiesta. Now, before you start ranting about your loath for microsoft or Ford please hear me out. In theory, the Sync system, combined with bluetooth technology, is a great way to go hands free. It also allows for the coordination of the system and Pandora & Stitcher Radio on an Android phone.
Anyway, lately my bluetooth connection to my car has been causing FCs on my phone. They are the type of FCs that cause the "long-short-short-short" haptic feedback but doesn't throw a pop-up message describing the cause of the FC. So, when the feedback occurs the phone will sometimes lock up but it always disconnects the bluetooth. I don't use bluetooth in any other fashion so I can't be positive that it's not an issue with the car's bluettoth system.
With all of that said, is there an inherent issue with the bluetooth system on our phone? If so, is there a fix for this? I'm currently running the EC07-clean_new ROM. This was installed over the SCH-I400-EC07-FROYO-REL-PRODUCTION ROM. My broadband version iss:i400.0.6v.EC06, Kernel 2.6.32.9 and build SCH-I400.EC07.
Any help that you brilliant folks could offer would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Ray
I run bluetooth constantly (it's the only way I talk on my phone, driving or not.) I've never run into this issue. Have you recently downloaded any new apps? I found that there are some apps that simply don't play well with our phones. Especially radio based apps (I.E. the issues a lot of us were having with gps based apps, or gps losing it's lock, after a while. Wireless tether 3.06 beta completely screwed my phone up... etc). The only other thing I could suggest is to drop your phone from the sync, and reconnect it... I do this with all my bluetooth devices at least twice a week as a matter of course. And if you want to experiment to see if it's sync or your phone, assuming you have bluetooth stack on your computer, you could connect it to your phone. Other than that, maybe find a friend that has bluetooth and connect it?
Thanks for the suggestions. The most recent app I have installed that uses a radio is the new Stitcher, though I have been having some issues with "My Tracks" FCing but I think that is another issue. Anyway, prior to your reply I found an app on the market called "bluetooth fix repair" It's free and I gave it a shot. I've also deleted the phone from my car's list and repaired them. So far so good. I have a bluetooth stereo headset I'll have to try. I probably have too many apps to begin with. I'll see about deleting some of the ones I don't really need.
Thanks again,
Ray

I think you should be good with rourine disconnect/reconnect. Asfor too many apps, the only thing rhat matters there is storage space. Android wint let you run "too many" at once. Itll delete from ram as needed. I was just saying that certain apps dont seem to play well with others. But that is an android issue, not your phone in particular.

I'm totally stumped here. Yesterday I decided to reflash my phone. I figured any issues might be ironed out. It must be an app issue, although it is going to be a PIA to uninstall then reinstall each app and test the BT after each app install. I thought that it might be the trailblazer101 car cradle, desk cradle or the sticher apps that were giving me the problem but that doesn't seem to be the case. Maybe I'll try replacing the BT files with the ones from eclair to see if I end up with the same trouble. Any idea if that might cause more problems? Are the BT files android version specific?
Peace
EDIT: I've not swapped the BT files from eclair but I did spend an hour or so listening to Stitcher radio via a bluetooth headset. It doesn't seem to be a BT issue. More likely an issue with the connection to the Sync system itself. Connecting via bluetooth is no problem in the car. It's not until I attempt to engage a function other than the phone that an issue occurs. I may try to reflash the EC07-clean ROM and see if there was something with the EC07-Clean_new version that I've been running for the last few weeks.
OK, the BT issue seems to be corrected. I flashed adrenalyn's EC07-clean ROM and that seemed to do it. Something must have gotten corrupted. So, issue resolved...i guess.
Hi everyone, I just want to check to se eif its just me or if this is a generic WP7 or HD2 problem and for the record I am using B.T.T.F 8107
During my lunch break I regularly walk to the local shop and back which is just over a mile or so and to vary things I will take different routes so my walk will be between 20-30mins.
Being on the large side I decided to walk briskly and use sports tracking software and Zune playing FM radio. This was a while ago and I started with Endomondo, this worked fine up until around the 7440 update and for some reason I could no longer use the FM radio and Endomondo so I switched to listening to my radio station over the Internet and this was also fine.
Then I upgraded to the 8107 and Endomondo now 'pauses' when the screen locks, I have set the option to run under the lock screen and I have turned off the auto pause but no good.
Thinking this was a problem with Endomondo I uninstalled this and tried Marathon and this was the same so I ditched this and now have RunSat and this also does the same.
Too much for coincidence so out of curiosity does anyone else use sports tracking software on the HD2 and do they have similar problems?
Many thanks
OK just tried today without Zune running and its still the same.
RunStat showed 22mins but a distance of only 0.3 miles, does anyone have any ideas please?
I know you've already found this, so I'm just posting as a reference for others with the same problem: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=21103854#post21103854

My phone connected via bluetooth to my car no problems until yesterday. All of a sudden it stopped working, i noticed no other changes, so i proceeded to try to pair both from my phone end and the car, still wasnt working so i unpaired and removed the device from my car and phone and tried to repair, the car (2012 sonata) tells me to pair from the phone, and on the phone it cannot find the bluetooth of the car.
I was freaking out and thought it was the car, but i tried my tablet and laptop, andboth are able to pick them up, ive tried turning bluetooth on/off and restarting the entire phone,
Has anyone else experienced their bluetooth going out on the s5 yet?
and what do you think would help? factory reset, or manufacturers return for hardware error?

Have you tried pairing your phone with other devices than car? At least, it will confirm that your phone Bluetooth is working fine.

I've been experiencing some issues with my bluetooth in cars and with wireless headsets. it has annoyed me enough to search the forums today.
Issue with Pandora and bluetooth controls can pause, cannot resume play with MS530 wireless headset.
Issue with Pandora and bluetooth controls can pause, cannot resume play with 2012 Volvo S60 T6 R-Design.
Issue with Pandora and bluetooth controls can pause, cannot resume play with 2011 Volvo S60 T6.
Issue with Pandora and bluetooth controls can pause, cannot resume play with Aftermarket Sony deck in my truck (don't have the model handy).
Built in player sometimes has the same issues, I see more issues when the phone is locked. Fingerprint scanner on.
Today bluetooth locked up totally and had to reboot the device. I did not power down my headset before I left range of my phone and came back and it would not re-connect. I unpaired and attempted to repair and it would not. rebooted powered everything off and repaired and it started working again.
Bluetooth has issues on the S5 phones in my opinion. My iphone 5 has no issues at all with everything. locked or not. Was thinking of rooting to see if I could fix some of these issues as I prefer Android as I like the apps better and the openness to get stuff done.

No, it's not a S5 issue, it's an Android issue and it's been continuous since the beginning. These problems have happened with my previous 3 phones too, so don't delude yourself into thinking these are specific to this phone. Or that they will be fixed for that matter...

I disagree.
Bluetooth has worked on all the android models I've had in the past.
Past Android phones:
HTC Hero - worked great, slow though
HTC EVO - worked great
LG Nexus 4 - worked great
Motorola Zoom - worked great
Samsung Moment - Slow but worked
Samsung Epic - worked great
Samsung S3 - worked great
But if you want to blame the OS go for it. I think your alone there. Its a software issue with Samsung crap in my opinion vs security and all the bells and whistles they are trying to use. I think Android has nothing to do with the issue at all.
I have a moto headset with my s5 and no problems. Had no problems with same one on my s4 either so I wouldn't blame all the phones. It's electronics. Things can go won key when you have a lot of parts. It's probably just that. It happens. Even on iPhone's.
Sent from my SM-G900V using XDA Free mobile app
I have problems too. Very odd tho. I can pair my phone and listen to my music just fine. However if I try to use my gps while the BT is connected, no audio will cone from the phone or the BT radio. But as soon as I turn off thr BT on my phone, I can hear my gps through my phone just fine.
I haven't done a factory reset yet, but I have cleared thr phone from my car and re-paired.....still nothing.
The even stranger thing....every one in a while it will work, 9 times out of 10 it won't work. It has worked 2 times since I bought the phone, April 25th.
Never had a problem like this before, with other phones.
meh

As I reply to this one person said they have no problems, one said they have problems. I have had the same issues with syncing and playback on my 2 previous phones, neither of them the S5. There are idiosyncrasies that exist in the software (like any software ever) that just don't work sometimes. I don't know why we should think this phone would be any different.
I'm wondering if anyone has issues with and solutions for bluetooth connectivity problems. Specifically, constant dropouts and stuttering.
Background of problem
I recently purchased my phone, which was already on Android 10 (Build QP1A.190711.122). From the start, bluetooth has been unbearable: if I move the phone in any way, or I move the connected bluetooth device (headphones, earbuds, speakers, etc.) it stutters and cuts out momentarily. Sometimes the stuttering continues incessantly. In short, my bluetooth is useless for listening to audio, making phone calls, etc. I basically have to be next to be perfectly still and right next to the phone, and even then it may act up.
Failed troubleshooting efforts
I installed the September update, rooted the phone and tried various options many times, including:
*Hard resetting the phone
*Flashing and re-flashing the stock rom several times (even after full wipes)
*Wiping the cache in recovery
*Clearing the bluetooth cache
*Playing with the bluetooth options in Developer Options
*Unpairing and re-pairing various bluetooth devices
I'm lost and wondering if the gyroscope is messing with bluetooth connectivity in someway. I have no idea whatsoever.
Thoughts and comments appreciated.
@droctii
I have not had an issue like this, sounds like a low power/weak signal issue or interference or conflicting devices
Which sounds like this

users report 2 or 3 fixes scanning through thread
Same here. bluetooth connectivity has rather worsened since android 10.
however the recent ota updates on android 9 have been a hit or miss since march 2019. Before that, bt was working perfectly fine.
Coming back to android 10, as an example, the link with my bose soundwear with minor exceptions had been really strong bt -wise but since the update I get even with it random disconnects, and infrequent stutter/cuts etc. The same for my sony wh1000x m3, it behaves a little better but only using sbc codec, so i stick to that. However, older devices such as my car's bt, tv soundbar or even google mini when phone's just next to it are unusable with this phone. Also, the more crowded an environment (interference-wise) more likely to experiment issues.
For comparison, all other older phones I have still work fine within same parameters
I haven't taken my PH-1 to A10 yet, but my pixel 3XL had been struggling with Bluetooth. Today is the first time it's been useable, but I made a bunch of random changes in developer options. I haven't worked out which had helped. FWIW, I'm attaching a screen shot of the settings I'm using.

A lot of Bluetooth devices don't implement the protocols properly, especially on the cheaper side. You disabled A2DP so that probably helped.
You should be able to enable A2DP but use the highest version of AVRCP available, yours seems rather low. Should work fine.

What makes you think A2DP is disabled? The hardware handoff is disabled. Not the same thing. And that is the solution to my stuttering and disconnect issues. Toggling that makes the problems come and go.
Same problem on my car with 1+7pro and android10, music is discontinued, or freezed, stuttered...
But for me line with disable bt ad2p hardware offload is greyed and swith is to left

You would be better served looking/posting in your own device forum. This is the Essential PH-1 and your software is very different.
I have had such problems with various devices and while disabling A2DP offload always solved the problem, so did playing around with the AVRCP versions.
My essential phone has been sitting on my desk for the last 3 months due to these insolvable bluetooth issues. Neither AVRCP nor A2DP solved the issues, the bluetooth is stuttering constantly when I move my phone around and not in direct sight of my receiver(s).
I tried 3 different wireless earbuds and they all suffer from random stutters or disconnects if I'm actively walking with my phone. The closer the phone is to my upper body, the better the signal is (most of the time). If I connect my phone to any Bluetooth device at home or in the car where the phone isn't moving, the connection is perfect. I've tried the different methods mentioned in this thread and nothing fixes it. I've given up and just hoping my next phone doesn't suffer from the same thing.
