T-Mobile Digits == CRAP? - Samsung Galaxy S10+ Questions & Answers

Brief Horror Story
1. Galaxy S10+ with singe line account
2. Dear T-Mobile, please add a line. Done.
3. Discover that new line is serviced by some crappy "app" called DIGITS. Dialer totally different behaviour than the built-in. Considerable downgrade
4. Digits line keeps failing. Finally won't make/take calls. Text messages go nowhere.
5. T-mobile engineer spends 4 hours and many calls to fix. Reboot phone "fixes" temporarily.
6. I decide to move DIGITS line for primary and convert original line to DIGITS.
7. Another few hours hacking and trying including changing out SIM card plus several reboots. Now it works.
Question: WHY can't the native dialer and text message application service a second line? DIGITS is unreliable garbage.
Is there a third-party alternative?
T-Mobile has some real problems if they allow software like DIGITS to support their customers!

How do you call a phone extension?

Hi, I've tried searching the forums, but i'm having no luck. I recently got the T-Mobile MDA (great phone, btw), and I was wondering if anyone can advise on how to enter numbers into your contacts, so that you can include a persons extension. This is a feature that I would like to know so that I can call friends and family at their work numbers, where I would have to call the company number, wait for the automated receptionist, and then dial the person's extension.
I use to be able to do this with a Samsung phone that I had for Verizon using a "p" pause feature, which would wait an additional 2 seconds per "p", followed by entering the persons extension. (ie, if you were to enter "(123) 456-789 ppppp 12345", the phone would dial (123) 456-789, wait 10 seconds (5p's = 5 x 2 seconds), then dial 12345.
if the above explanation was confusing, maybe you can check the info from samsumg's site at
http://erms.samsungusa.com/customer...D=557&PROD_SUB_ID=561&PROD_ID=613&AT_ID=24794
it gives an explanation of this "p" pause feature (not my previous phone, but still same feature).
overall, this would make my life easier when i use voice dialing, so that when i'm driving and want to call someone, i don't have to look down at my phone bad and try to touch the numbers (which are a bit inconvenient on the MDA), for the person's extension.
thanks for any advise you can offer.
Use a comma instead of "p"
i.e.
123 456-7899 ,,,,, 12345
thanks lotech, it worked. this will definitely save me from getting into a car accident.
Free program download
Hi there,
I have used this little gem of a program, it allows you to add numbers before and after the number you wish to dial. Very useful if you have a cheap international call contract from your mobile i.e. you have to dial a landline number which connects you. Hope this is of use to you all. keep up the good work site, Cheers.

Displaying the own phone-number in TF3D

Hi @ all.
first i have to say sorry for my bad english.
But i hope, i can eyplain my problem (no results using search).
I have by my provider vodafone a "Duo Bill" contract.
This includes on one SIM two phone numbers.
a) a business
b) a private
The problem is, that i forget often with which number i logged in.
Is it possible to display my own number with TF3D instead for example the providername in the right top?
For example changing between business and private:
switch phone off (comm-manager)
switch phone on (comm-manager)
input the private or business PIN
At the time i start the SIM Manager to see my actual number (business or private).
Anyone a idea?
Thanks a lot

+ sign in front of incoming calls.

Hi,
I posted this on this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=49978192
as I was utterly ignored (probably my fault) I am reposting here, hopefuly is both the right place and it gets the right visibility.
--->
I am sure if this relates to this post, but as I unlocked the phone using this method I hope someone else can help.
I follow the steps listed here to unlock the phone and I am using it with NET10 in USA. My SPH-L720 has a NET10 card in it and I am connected to their network (No LTE, but the internet is still fast enough). I also changed the method listed here to change the phone number listed on settings ##MLS# and enter the number on both fields.
At this point everything works on the phone except for a really annoying detail.
Every call I get (and these are local US calls, not international) has a + (plus sign) at the front.
this is triggering two problems
1- the number shown on the caller id of the incoming call does not always match a number on my phone book. This is a problem as I don't know who is calling.
2- if I dial back, to call the number who called me, the call does not go through.
Now, if I go to the address book I can call any saved number.
The SIMM card i put on this S4 came from a Galaxy S2, which was working perfectly (not having these issues) - (I had to cut it to make it a micro)
At this point the only solution I have found is to use a program called Prefixer (apk) which will change the first character of every outgoing call to a +1. This of course will force me to edit every number on my phonebook and add the + (as otherwise prefixer will be changing any "first" character into a +1). I do have a lot of numbers
I wonder if someone can come up with a solution which does not involve something like this.
I hope the issue is understood, it has taken me three days to explain it to the NET10 team, and all they always asked was if I needed to make an international call (retards) :/
Thanks for all the help.
This is my work around so far, but I wish I could find a native solution to the problem
1- I exported all my contacts from google and fixed all the number in my address book only to include area code and number (no other symbols or spaces, etc) as in 305765342
2 downloaded: Prefixer from 253°Below (sorry I am new, can't post links)
I programmed two incoming and two outgoing rules using regular expressions to remove the + and +1 in front of numbers
The only annoying thing is that that app vibrates and provides a notification everytime one of the rules is triggered.
I wonder if anyone has a better idea on how to fix this.
Thanks

Contact name doesn't show up when they call - using Straight Talk AT&T on Verizon N3

Contact name doesn't show up when they call - using Straight Talk AT&T on Verizon N3
Hello,
I am having some problems with my contacts after switching to a verizon note3 from an AT&T note 2. I had no issues on my prior phones (t-mobile HTC One, AT&T s3, etc) and all of my phones get their contacts imported automatically from my google account.
For some reason, when my friend calls, their number shows up as "+xxx-xxx-xxxx" with the plus sign in the front. Unless I go in and change all of my contacts to have that + sign in the front, my contact's name doesn't show up.
I also had trouble calling them back by pressing the missed call because of the plus sign (I get a voice message saying something like "the international call you are attempting to place is not possible". This has been fixed by an app called "prefixer" which can take out the + sign everytime I make any calls.
Other than changing all of my contact phone numbers, is there any way I can make my default contact app ignore the +?
International Prefix
I have the exact same issue. With a Verizon SIM it works just fine, but with a GSM SIM the calling number appears (incorrectly) like +212-555-1212 (rather than simply 212-555-1212, or even, correctly, +1212-555-1212)
Can this be fixed in the ROM or kernel, or better yet, by the user?
Thanks

[Q] Incoming Number shows, no contact name though in CONTACTS

SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE 4 (SM-N910H) Unlocked.
O/S: Android 4. 4. 4.
MacBook Pro, APPLE Yosemite 10.10.2.
I upgraded from the SAMSUNG NOTE 3 to the fantastic NOTE 4. Awesome phone!
However (problem is not Carrier dependent):
All my Contacts are saved with the international dialing code format (+44 *** etc).
Local calls received, which come without the international dialling prefix, only number shows, no contact name though number is in my CONTACTS.
All SMS Text and all international calls are okay, as these come with the international dialling code and phone recognises the number and Contact.
Currently, the only workaround, which I find unacceptable, is to save the Contact name and number twice, once with the international dialling code, and another as it would be received as a local number.
This is unacceptable, as it would mean doing this for every single number I have, otherwise when I travel the overseas numbers (now local) would not show a Contact name.
So grateful if someone has a solution (without ROOTING my phone), otherwise I will have to give up my beloved NOTE 4.
BTW, I have on my phone 7,500 Contacts, never been a problem when I was using these SAMSUNG phones: NOTE 3, S5, S4, S3, and S2.
Please note: Phone is unlocked as all my phones are, and this issue is not Carrier dependent.
Just tested and added country code and gave it call , showed name without problem
Try this trick , remove your google account restart device and set it up again and restart again and see if this will work , happen similar problem before in note 2 that wont show numbers without country code
