Hi,
I'm wondering if it is just for me or the swipe from the middle of the screen to reveal the app switcher got removed from Android 11? Even the tutorial shows that it can be used.
Does any of you face this issue? I really miss it.

Try swip up from the bottom and stop in the middle
But it used to work without going to the bottom bar, at least for the home screen. It was much more convenient ?
It's working fine for me?

I just updated my Nexus 7 to Android 4.2 JOP40C and it seems the very handy rotation button in the notification pull-down is gone. No quick settings either, it's just all gone.
Is it really just gone?
Is there some way to re-enable it?
Why would Google do that? Particularly after enabling home screen rotation in a recent update.

The buttons you're looking for can be found in the new pulldown with 4.2, you can find it by swiping from the top down with two fingers, or by swiping on the right side of the screen. I think.
does the launcher auto rotate when in landscape now?
Oh! Swipe on the right side of the screen does it. Like on the Kindle Fire. Thank you!

If you have rotation enabled and as at least 4.1.2, it does.
Indeed the top right corner swipe does bring quick settings but there's no way i can bring it with two fingers :-/
it might have been removed from final release. i tried and tried with fingers near, far, (wherever you are), but no way.
ps: i'm on a nexus 7

okay but how to customize them i have stock ones and no rotation with them
Have the same issue - no rotation-lock button in the quick drop-down, so thanks for pointing out the quick settings.
Does anyone know how to revive the little icon that should appear next to the date in the drop-down with a non-rooted N7?
Thanks!

The bottom of my N7 screen cracked but the device is still very usable. The bottom half inch will not respond to touch, but everything above that point works just fine! I'm hoping for a way to expand my navigation bar size, or bump it up to leave my screen blank under it.. Any help will be greatly appreciated and I have some $ in PayPal as a thanks. Any help as in a ROM that allows a Nav Bar Resize.. A way to move it to the top of my tablet screen... Some way I can put a google search bar under it or anything to waste that space. Thanks for ideas, hoping to save my N7 and keep it usable without having to rotate it everytime I need that portion of my screen!

I could have sworn I've seen navbar mods somewhere. You could always consider using PIE controls, however, if you want to remap them to the left/right screen edges.
Thanks for the quick reply. Pie Controls is a very useful work around for now. The app would be amazing if it let me choose exactly where on the screen I could pull up the navigation bar, but even without that option it is a great help!
I've seen some Mods but all of them seem to shrink the Bar, not enlarge it.
The reason I want to extend the stock navigation bar isn't just to be able to touch the buttons but it also pushes all opened apps, my home screen, etc up past that point that is cracked... So while playing a game or in my options menus I would still be able touch the bottom of my screen, just above the navigation bar (which I can't do now.) Basically, the top of the Bar is the bottom of my touch screen and it isn't high enough for me to use the entire screen =(

LMT Launcher is a pie control interface. It allows you to open from anywhere on the left or right and you can setup gestures as well with it to do the navbar functions. Look it up here on xda.

All the Galaxy S series and NOTE series phones has that feature built-in. (no settings you can change)
Just swipe your finger down anywhere below the center of the screen and it will work great.
It's possible that you are using a launcher which has an option to change the
default swype down to some other action and that's why its not working for you.
Give it a try, good luck!

Try nova launcher. This allows you to setup gestures such as swiping down anywhere for the notification bar. However, this feature is only available on the home screens so im afraid it won't help if you're in an application

Hi.
The swip down below the center doesnt work and i like the original launcher. There is some other way to setting it?
Other app which not change the original launcher?
Is there any way show the notification panel by swiping from the bottom of the screen instead of the top(default)?
basically is there anything that will allow me to view the expanded notification panel without having to pull down from the status bar?
You haven't gotten any responses because it isn't possible. End of story. New to Android?

Nah but upgrading from a galaxy s4 that has been on 4.4 for 3 years(custom rom) With the new galaxy, its harder to reach the status bar when using one hand.
I agree with you with this one... The navigation bar is a bit of a pain to reach, Although pinning apps to edge bar seems to work OK for me.

then use the one hand operation to make it easier. that's what it is there for. tap the home button three times. that will make the screen smaller, and easy for one hand operation. if you don't have it setup, then go into settings, and advanced settings.
You should try the notification edge panel I bought it straight away then i realised I could of bought the edge notification panel from playstore with the reward app I had.
No way to move the notification pull down itself, but using Nova Launcher Prime (the pay version), you can set up a screen gesture to open the notification shade. You can assign to a downward swipe (starting anywhere on the screen), or a double tap, or other options. Unfortunately, I think this only works from the home page, not from within another app.

Yup. best answer!
I've been using this for years. Still not the same as having a smaller phone though.
Swipe down for notifications, swipe up to sleep.

I should have posted an update but found a work around.
Using All In One Gestures app, I can swipe up from the home button and it will expand the notification panel. This works in any app unlike the Nova option.
Hi, you can use fooView, it allows to expand notification just pulling down the floating icon down, and other actions like back, home, recent, etc. with just one hand.

Long story short, Q gestures is absolutely terrible. I use a third party app for navigation. however, EVERY single app I've ever tried seems to be unable to hide the nav bar due Google's screwery. in fact, even Fullscreen Qgestures magisk module does nothing on Ob1.
Does anyone know a definitive way to hide the stupid annoying navbar?
Google have removed the ability to over-scan the display in Android 11 (which is the trick all 3rd party apps used to hide the nav bar); so at the moment there's simply NO WAY to remove it,
I wouldn't mind the built-in gestures so much if there was the ability to turn off the "mini nav bar" which just shows a hide icon every time you use a keyboard. That's the biggest UI issue in my book, it just looks stupid!
Google needs to reverse it back to the way it was...

With magisk you can use module called Fullscreen/Immersive Gestures (Q-R).
Works great, no problems with missing toast notifications etc.
can confirm, that magisk module works perfectly. use your volume keys during install to set the settings. https://github.com/Magisk-Modules-Repo/HideNavBar
Has anyone done this to get fng working on an OP8 Pro with latest Android 11?
EDIT: Just read the github. Doesn't work with Oxygen OS.

I absolutely loathe that extra button.
But the slider at the bottom of the screen for gestures I've grown to love.
Knocking it left or right switches apps really quickly and I couldn't be without that now.

The latest version works.
Nice one for this.
Have to keep the OnePlus launcher installed to retain gestures though
Sliding at the bottom still works

I don't understand what you mean: you can define swipes to hide or to reveal the top and/or bottom bars.
No keyboard necessary.

So on nova yes you can but the keyboard will still have the additional bar underneath it.
Nova can't fix that

Hi,
You can either use fullscreen Gesture magisk module or you can follow this guide below-
How to remove Nav Bar in Android 11
Works perfectly on OP8 Pro with latest Android 11 update. Thanks a lot.
forum.xda-developers.com
In oxygenOS 11 you can hide the bottom space between the keyboard and gesture .... you have that option in your settings under the language and input section.... you can simply search keyboard height adjustment in setting and you'll find it
thank you
Is there a way to auto-hide the nav bar? Ex. On my old phone you could swipe up to show it or tap a dot on the left to stop it from disappearing.
Looks like the only way is to use a different launcher? I tried adding the fullscreen / immersive module but I believe that's just for the keyboard.
