Android 11 bugs (stable September 8th release) - Google Pixel 2 XL Guides, News, & Discussion

I ''upgraded'' on September 8th.
On Android 10 I didn't have the following issues, they started right after the update on September 8th.
1- If you are playing a game on landscape mode, sometimes, when you pull down notifications drawer, the icons (battery, signal, etc) get stuck, and the only way to remove them is by closing the app. (In my case Sky children of the light, Cytus 2, Genshin Impact and it's annoying to close the game when this happens).
2- My battery used to hit 100% everytime I charged it. But that night after android 11 upgrade, I noticed the battery hits 100%, then starts depleting to 99% then 98% and goes to 99% again, sometimes stays at 98% and sometimes 99% (all that happens while plugged in) it's an ackward behavior. Battery usage doesn't show it, it says the phone is charged and not using the battery, even though the percentage is reporting another thing. I don't want to think this is my battery having issues (bought phone in July 25th, new) so I can't have battery issues so soon, I hope. (On September 30th, I made a hard reboot, pressing volume down and power for some seconds and after full charge the phone now reports 100% and stays there again while plugged).
3- On pixel launcher there are issues with some apps when hitting back button, the app gets "stuck" (WhatsApp), and on Instagram the icons override the bottom options. (Navbar icons override the app options). Factory reset didn't help, but after hard rebooting (power+volume down for ten seconds) I haven't noticed these issues anymore, hope it stays like this.
4- Keyboard is not expanding completetely on landscape mode, when full screen on a game or app, or when chatting in-game as it used to. It fills up to where the navbar is supposed to go on three and two buttons navigation, leaving an empty space. (Here I have an update on September 18th. I switched from three and two button navigation to the default gestures navigation and the keyboard now fills my entire screen, it seems it only detects the full screen keyboard on gesture navigation).
5- Using the advanced accessibility menu, the brightness soft button is not on par with the brightness level on the "display" system settings. When you set it to 0% on the accessibility menu soft button, display brigthness shows 33% in system display settings, (you can see brightness bar is higher than the 0%), if you increase brightness in the accessibility soft button, the display system settings rises too, but not on par with the accessibility menu one. Before (on Android 10), this didn't happen, if I set 11% in the display settings, it usually showed same level as accessibility one. Now it shows 33% system brightness, when the accesibility brithness is 0%.
PD: I know the battery issue happened before to some people before android 11. I reported the issues using the feedback option.
Regards.

Backscreen switches off during charging!!!

My xda exec's screen switches off when i put it into charging...although the battery is charged but the screen remains off till it is connected....the moment the charging pin is removed the backlight switches on........
does anyone have any idea what could possibly be wrong with this thing?

backlight
have u checked the backlight settings, theres a separate bar for the backlight when plugged in.. that might be right down..?
there could be a registry thing to stop it too...
Start | Settings | [System Tab] | Backlight
Within here, you have 3 tabs at the bottom of the screen.
Brightness, Battery Power, External Power. On the latter two options you should have the option to change whether or not the backlight stays on in those circumstances. For example, you can switch the backlight to go off after 10 seconds on external power.
Check this If it is still causing the issue when you have unchecked both of those boxes, well, you know where we are
tried all the backlight settings ..... brightness, battery power, external power.. ...but nothing worked ...the backlight used to switch on as soon as charging wire was removed or was put in camera mode even while charging.....finally had to reinstall the rom....now its fine....

Faulty HD2

my Hd2 recently broke, it had a lot of things wrong with it.. 7 in total if you interested you can read the faults bottom of the post, im interest to know if anyone else had the same problems as me.
i sent it off for repair. all is ok now but on the cover letter they sent back with the phone they said the fault was "program abnormal excecution/ termination (error message pop up or etc.."" repair was "Replace main board" however i know i had a scratch on the back of the phone that is no longer there (there is also no dust etc in the bottom buttons or the top speaker), does that mean they replaced the whole device?
thanks
1) Whilst texting- The keypad is generally glitchy.
- When pushing the delete button other buttons are triggered too such as the B & M keys.
- The directional arrows do not work.
- Even though XT9 predictive text is selected it doesn’t always work.
- it takes numerous taps on the screen to start the write reply feature.
I have tried calibrating the screen and aligning it, this was unsuccessful.
2) The home button below the screen has stopped working.
3) The camera has suddenly developed an intermittent red tint, sometimes the camera will be fine other times it is not.
4) When trying to launch the camera/ video camera it sometimes says error unable to to connect. I have to switch the device off to fix this, sometimes it takes 3 attempts.
5) The phone can only be set to vibrate.
6) When pressing the phone down key to get the lock screen to appear it sometimes takes up to 30 seconds to appear.
7) The battery life appears to be getting shorter after every charge, for eg. It finished fully charging at 1am, i then left the phone in standby mode (no programs running) and by 8am when i woke the battery was a 40%

Marshmallow help

Ever since I updated my note 4 to MM I've been having a few issues, I was wondering if anyone had any ideas to my issues.
1. My phone is constantly awake, on the battery graph, the awake bar is all blue. Seems like my phone doesn't sleep at all and also it doesn't seem like any apps are keeping it awake as no apps is at a high usage percentage, only screen on time.
2. Every time I press the home button or the power button to wake my phone, the phone screen takes forever to turn on. I disabled S voice and turned off the setting for the double tap and it's still extremely slow to wake.
My phone is currently not rooted, just stock MM
If anyone has any ideas that'd be wonderful.
Thanks

Lock Screen won't turn off

Hi there. I'm currently having an issue with my S7 edge where the lock screen won't turn off after some time. The screen does turn off when I'm using the phone normally from the main screen after some time passes but it's just the lock screen I have issues with.
Whenever I charge my phone or just hit the power button once to see notifications on the lock screen, it'll just stay like that until the same time the main screen timeout configured time passes (5 minutes) and this is getting annoying and somewhat draining a little bit more of my battery. Previously it was working fine and the lock screen would turn off after around 10 seconds or so.
Has anyone faced any similar issues with their phones? I haven't tried a factory reset yet but I'd want that to be a last resort.
Clear Background apps.
It happens when you left some games or apps by pressing home button but it keeps running. Hope they will fix this soon.
Have you tried pressing that little button on the right side of the phone? That usually helps.
Yeah...I already tried that with no luck. Even tried uninstalling some recent apps in case one of them was cause but it didn't work either. Any other suggestions?
The issue isn't with turning the phone screen off by pressing the power button, it's the lock screen itself not turning off after a few seconds when it usually does.
I'm having the same problem, had good lock installed thought that may have been the problem but after uninstalling that I'm still having the same problem with samsungs oem lock screen. I too would like an answer or fix for this. also to note, in developer options the stay awake is off and no apps running in the background.
I am having this problem now also. The screen will lock, but the display stays on but dimmed. I can tap the screen and it will get bright. Now I must click the side button every time I set my phone down or the screen will drain the battery.
I'm facing exactly the same issue. When the screen is locked, it stays on for the same time confirmed to when its unlocked. For example, 1 minute, instead of 10-15 seconds.
Any workaround discovered for this?
Did anyone find a solution to this problem?
I thought that I might've been the only one! This problem only appeared on my phone after the Nougat update, and it's extremely annoying as I rely on notifications waking the screen for my main messaging app.

Some parts of the system lost their functions

Hello,
There is this weird problem that came out of nowhere. I usually sleep listening to music and sometimes I weak up with the phone battery completely drained so I have to charge it. Today after charging the phone some parts of the system lost their functions. These are the problems I discovered so far;
-The home(LeEco) and the multitask buttons are not doing their main functions even though the phone registers the touch inputs from the buttons and they light up. The home button can even lock the phone on long press but won't take me to the home screen.
-I have the swipe shortcuts button enabled but it won't take me to home screen or multitask screen. The "go back" option, however, is still working along with the back button. I can go to the home screen by swiping or exiting apps with "go back" button.
-I can't download apps from google play store even on wifi with auto-update enabled. it's stuck on download pending.
-I can't open the notifications management from notifications.
-Connecting the phone to my PC does not show connection options.
-Screenshot doesn't appear in the notifications. The notification area remains empty.
So far these are the ones I discovered. Do you have any idea what causes that and how to fix it? I didn't do a factory reset yet as I can't transfer the data to my PC. Eui 5.9.026S I haven't had any of these problems up until this morning.
Thanks in advance.
Backed up data using an app and factory reset solved the problem.
The actual problem seemed to be:
1-The multitask screen virtually opens but it appears behind the background aka it doesn't actually appear. I think because whatever app that is responsible for it does not have the draw over other apps permission(?).
2-The notifications are there but does not appear in the notifications bar menu. I made sure by using the a notification history app. So it might be notification access permission problem(?).
