Mi 9T global without google phone app - Redmi K20 / Xiaomi Mi 9T Questions & Answers

I recently updated my 9T global bought directly from china to MIUI 12.0.3.0 (QFJMIXM) and I was expecting to have google phone app but I can't find anywhere the options related to filter spam calls, so I suppose my phone has xiaomi stock phone app. Is there a way ans is it safe to install google phone app? It's unavailable for me on the play store. I haven't found any clue on this forum.

Yes, you can instala it.

If u r rooted u can install a magisk module to get it working

Thank you very much for the replies.
Isn't my MIUI supposed to have the Google phone app?
How can I install It? Just from any apk?

update to mi 7 from mi 66.55.11.00

Hey all,
I have a redmi note 4G (global) running 4.4.4 (whoa, outdated as hell). It is running mi 66.55.11.00 which upon some research turns out to be a custom mi (and a bad one because it give u a popup ad on wifi every from minutes). I've checked, the phone is original.
I download the mi 7 images from mi's website and upon trying to update the phone, it failed (surprise surprise).
Can anyone please suggest another way to go about it.
Thanks in advance
Hi,
I have the same issue. Did you find a solution for this problem?
Thanks

Mi Remote not working on Xiaomi.EU

I've noted that since the first time I flahsed Xiaomi.EU rom in my 3S, Mi Remote app stopped working with my tv and air conditioner.
The app runs without problems, I can add new devices and search them by brand, but when I prss the blue button "to test" the IR codes, no code works.
On stable MIUI or a custom ROM like RR/LOS the app works without problems. I'm in the latest weekly release (based on china beta 7.6.8)
Is anyone else having this problem? If so, has anyone solved it? Thanks in advance!
UPDATE: I did the following to make Mi Remote App work:
Root the ROM, using the latest SuperSU zip
Remove the Mi Remote apk from system partition, or install some uninstaller from the Play Store and uninstall Mi Remote App
Reboot
Install Mi Remote from Play Store, or download the APK and install it.
Now it's working without problems, with the downside of having to root to make this possible. It was possible to delete the apk from TWRP to avoid rooting, but didn't try that.
Hope this helps someone in the future.
Thank you. I had the same problem in Mi Globe ROM(Which is based on Xiaomi.EU). Your solution helped.

strange apps instaled on my phone

Yesterday I Download the original ROM from Miui website but when i use a custom launcher like Nova it show me some Xiaomi apps and other apps that i don't install and didnt come with the original system that it had when i bougth it. Anyone know why it has that?
Man, you should not open a thread and say I do have a problem, can you tell me why and how to solve it without telling any details, so about which apps are you talking and at the moment I would say that Xiaomi has included them in their newest rom. Would be the first and only reasonable explanation.
I'm sorry. I don't post more information because when I si that apps i uninstall all that
i think you are talking about Caping and Mi store
Mi store is mi.com application for buying Xiaomi devices in india
Caping is a chat app news thingy that's also targeted to indian users
there was also a third app for buses and metros and stuff (forgot it's name) which is also for indian users
cheers,

Xiaomi Mi A1 issues with Chinese ROM

Hi, I bought a privately imported Xiaomi Mi A1 64, and it has the latest OS on it, Android 9 build PKQ1.180917.001.V10.0.8.0.PDHMIXM.
However, it has a few non-major, but annoying quirks, such as: when you are in any application, and you get a phone call, there is no visual indication of an ongoing call, you have to switch to the call (e.g. like the iPhone has the green line at the top of the screen whenever a call is in progress). I tried to install a 3rd party app that provides call status at all times, but it didn't work well. I consulted a cellular repair lab, and they checked it and said that this device doesn't have the "international" android Firmware, but some kind of Chinese derivative, that's causing the issues. There are no signs of this, because everything is in English. But they said, it is too risky to try and root it and install some kind of mod to set things right. I consulted several other labs and got similar answers.
I already tried a complete factory reset.
What mod would be recommended for this phone that would be a "normal" Android build for this device, that comes with all the basic features built in?
many thanks

Flash latest stock rom via MiFlash. Check YouTube for some tutorials.
Sent from my Mi A1 using XDA Labs
Be careful. If your phone is imported from chinese, then It could be the Mi 5X, which has an different system compared to Mi A1. Installing Mi A1 roms directly may cause brick.

Thank you for all your help. I found out that there are two types of ROMs, "Stable Global ROM" and "Stable Chinese ROM". How do I check which one I have, and where do I get the "Stable Global" version from?
Thanks again

Your best bet is finding a IMEI-checking website. However, if yours is imported from China then it's high chance it is the Mi 5X, which is Mi A1 in Chinese. There is no "international" or "chinese" rom version for Mi A1 because in Chinese it's a different phone. Mi 5X ran MIUI and doesn't have A/B like Mi A1.

I have seen Mi 5X running a ported version of Mi A1 rom and it's very hard to distinguish from real Mi A1. Have you check the IMEI?

As far as I understand, if you have one of the fake Chinese ones the stenciling will be different on the back.
A real one will say:
MI
Xiaomi corporation co Ltd
Designed by Xiaomi
CE {recycle logo}
Made in China model MDG2
Androidone
