I just spotted this at the mi mix download page

is there a way to flash this rom with locked bootloader?

Anyone having issues with FC of Gallery and Notes?....I am getting multiple repeated messages making the phone very difficult to use since the update from EU rom to this Global rom. Also when I go to settings/about phone/system updates/ reboot to recovery I am getting the picture of the phone with the cable plugged in and the web address at the bottom of the screen. Will I now get the OTA with this rom?

Yes ? I did a factory reset and reflashed the rom and now it seems amazing.

Guys what's the main difference with this Global Rom as opposed to the previous EU roms?

The previous EU-ROMS ar CUSTOM made, the Global is official. So noo need for a Xiaomi.eu ROM. And yes, cyou can flasg the OFFICIAL Global without unlocking the bootloader IF you are on a OFFICIAL Stable or Developer. Not on any "EU"-ROM

I'm now on MIUI8 8.2.2.0 Stable ... if i flash the Global Rom, no risk for me ? I lost nothing like all my apps, settings, photos, videos, settings ... ????

I bought my Xiaomi Mi Mix recently (should be arriving tomorrow). I have a feeling that I will receive it with MIUI Chinese Stable. Is there any way for me to update to the MIUI Global Rom (http://en.miui.com/thread-526390-1-1.html) without having an unlocked bootloader? Please let me know. Thanks

Flashed the 8.2.1 Global ROM using a PC and it works great. GAPPs installed and less bloat.

Between this phone and my oneplus 3 and pixel xl I actually like this one the most besides the fact that it runs android 6.0. Why do you dislike it?

Dislike ? I have all Samsung Note Series, as well more S series and here is conclusion.
MIUI is great dissapointment comparing targeted phone price...As I wrote in one review, it looks like little children "played games on Ferrari car"...I have all weird chinese letters as "houses,dots and boxes" instead normal text or keyboard...also..everything is chinese or some sort of...can not sync my google accounts,doesnt have possibility to import of contacts even can not create one, can not normaly type SMS messages....can not upgrade it to normal operating system because there is suported...none !! It is unbeliveable slippery. Official support is..none ! Camera is also very cheap one and images are unbelieveble bad for that devices price tag.
also needed to create weird MIUI account, or something to get support for nothing...bootloader is locked and if you are happy they will unlock it.so ou can not even change rom to something usable.
Let me be straight...phone looks very good...but usebillity is ONLY for Chinese people...for 800€ I should buy new S8...but I am lucky that I will get my money back and it was good school...Chinese devices...never again...Anyway, I could count disadvantages countlesly, and there is also one good thing...design.
Very very dissapointed..waste of money indeed....it was my notice for people to rather spend 700-800€ on something more usefull.

i hate when my mi mix dont recognize horizontal swipe. many times it mistakes horizontal swipe for vertical.. thats the only thing i dislike.

Google swrvices and purevpn

Dear all,
I just bought a Huawei Nova in Shanghai (chinese version). It has 5.1 emui. But no google services. Ive tried to download and install them and gave all permissions but still not able to start. Also i did install purevpn apk but it is frozen again at the beginning. It is about android 7? How can i solve this problem? Best,

Probably it's the same story as with Xiaomi phones with Chinese ROMs. Google is banned in China that's what you cannot use it. Try to find official international ROM for your device and flash it.

Hiapp has a modified google play and google play services. It worked on my device in China on EMUI 4. Not sure why the apk is force closing. Do they have options to set up the vpn manually?

hank you but i do not want to flash a rom. i found out that purevpn app is freezing when i was trying to start hiapp's google play. after removing it, it works but slow (nothing to do here). but still sad about google play and other google services part.

I now run LineageOS on my phone, so I have flashed GApps. Before that I was on EMUI 4 and it seemed fine with HIapps google. There is a free VPN called zerovpn and I got that to work in most places (again I am also in China).

I am having a Black shark 2 12+256 GB Black model. It can be easily converted to global by first aquiring rom from the blackshark EU website. You need to have a bootloader unlock. But unlike other Xiaomi smartphones this doesn't need to use mi flash unlock and do the waiting. It can be easily unlocked through Fastboot by the normal unlock command. Then you have to clear the system then flash it and enjoy. I can't share the link to global rom as I am a newbie at XDA and is not allowed with links. This phone is really a beast. I expect new gaming kernels from the community.... Waiting .......

It isn't provided on the website. You will have to contact them in person. I got it from one of my friend who contacted them in person. He lives in UK. Just visit there and they will provide you the global Roms. They may also provide it if you call or mail them. I don't know about that but still it's worth a try

I don't have rom for that variant sir. But still I can help you. You can flash a GSI and have the stock Android experience in Global Languages. First you will have to unlock the bootloader by the commands fastboot oem_unlock. Then download your preferred GSI Image from any developer. I would prefer pixel experience. Then follow the instructions that's given by the GSI developer. Done ! You have full Android experience without any Chinese bloatware. But stay in Chinese rom now as the shark space mode is not available in the global Rom as of now. If that's not your preference use the above mentioned method and switch to a global Rom. If you still didn't understand I will post a thread on installing GSI on Black shark 2. Thankyou . Hit the like button if this helped you.

I'd like to disagree with your statement that the shark space mode isn't available in the global ROM because it certainly is. I've used it already. Otherwise the dedicated physical switch on the side would be useless.

You maybe using a shop room sir. Which is modified by the shop for changing the language to English and to debloat the rom but still it will be the China rom in core. I never said that Shark Space won't be available in Global Rom. I just pointed out that the current global Rom doesn't have it but digging in deep the rom you can find the files. It's just they have disabled it for sometime maybe some testing going on. We may get an update within a month for the shark space or maybe you have a newer model which comes with the new Rom. If you have that and you know there is shark space, it will be too good if you upload a EDL mode backup of the device. So everyone can convert their China Rom device to Global Rom with Shark Space enabled. I would encourage you to do that. It would be a great help to us. I believe that you know how to backup as you're a senior member of XDA. Waiting for your reply.....

I'm using the official global version of the phone that's sold by black shark since 29th of March in their official EU online store which came with a security patch version of February 2019 out of the box and was updateable via OTA to patch version March 2019 and included shark space from the beginning.
From what I know to use EDL you need very specific files for each phone to be able to use the EDL mode, which aren't readily/easily available.
Furthermore I'm returning the phone today and therefore won't risk a brick or tinker with it.

Sir you may have the new retail unit with shark space aka Ludicrous mode. The Rom leaked doesn't have shark space turned on. So if you have that phone and seeing that you're a senior member. I request you to upload a EDL backup of your phone with Ludicrous mode. You could do it easily with some Android file system managers. If you could do that it will be a great help for people like me with outdated leaked global Roms. Can you confirm the build number and the security patch version ???

Lenovo Z6 Pro GLobal update

I got this phone from so called Lenovo "Official" Store on Aliexpress, like most of the ppl. It came with this crappy Global Rom which is super badly optimised. I heard that some ppl do get some updates, but stragnely i got none so far? anyone knows the issue? I contacted with the store and they are not helping at all, writing some random craps i dont understand. I asked them why havent I got any updates so far and they replied "dear,you can search the link in the internet."

We are many now to believe best option is to move to Stock Chinese official ROM, tweak it a little, add google play store...

Black Magic 5g has been reduced to a package that only contains 1.9GB. Video recording works now, you'll notice it's designed a bit different - some good stuff in the Tools folder hiding away that devs will use. Some factory Nubia apps that do a great job managing memory are present as well, find duplicate files, scan for viruses, etc. Accelerate is one of them, it will clear the memory. If an app does not let you Translate directly, you have Google Lens which can be accessed in Google Photos. A square icon will highlight text, then you can select More or .. and choose Translate. It will generate a translated message for you from the screen shot. Lens also has this feature just pointing at text with the camera. Lit Photo picture compressor is included so you can trim down pictures you take small enough for emails; a casting app Web Video Cast works outside of China has been added to stream any video from your phone over WiFi to a TV or monitor. Tested it out on my Samsung Smart TV, and it worked great. You just select the connected device on your Wifi, download an app to that device you want to stream to, and type a website URL to stream from to your TV or PC in Web Video Cast. YouTube Vanced is also installed with MicroG so you can use your Google account and not have any ads at all, still watching your favorite items or subjects from earlier. I patched NETFLIX to display HDR10(+) with LuckyPatcher so you get better resolution than the stock Widevine L3 standard allows (the app will say SD video, but playback has been confirmed via streaming at 4K). VLC video player is included which can handle many video formats. 1Weather is a favorite app of mine and it shows live weather forecasts for the week through a widget on the home page. Also, there is a Chrome search bar with a Google Assistant icon on the right, Google Feed icon left side. Google Maps. APK Mirror is installed and the SAI Split Archive Installer app. ZipArchiver. Magisk Manager is installed with several Magisk modules, one for Migrate Backup. Swift Backup app also. Root browser. TurboEdit can edit root files. SmartPack Kernel Manager includes a flasher (TWRP flash inside OS). Device Info app is included which gives all specs. An HD screen recorder and mic recorder are included. Telegram X app. Also Google Voice, Google Keep (Notes) , & Google Calendar widget for the month. @The suit may have an NFC Voodoo fix someone please try it while I RMA my device!!!!

Black Magic 5g has been reduced to a package that only contains 1.9GB. Video recording works now, you'll notice it's designed a bit different - some good stuff in the Tools folder hiding away that devs will use. Some factory Nubia apps that do a great job managing memory are present as well, find duplicate files, scan for viruses, etc. Accelerate is one of them, it will clear the memory. Everything else is WIPED, completely debloated and uninstalled, and replaced with a Google app. Even the Clock is from Google.
