The RM5S firmware works perfect on RM5G. The only problem is it won't let you use a different launcher. But I also haven't tried root on it yet either. I will post a link if people want to try it out.

This has the working theme store. There are more functionalities to this rom but haven't tried them out yet. This is the Chinese rom.

I did mine from a fresh install of 3.13 ENcommon if that makes a difference. I set up the Google apps and then I updated to the 5S rom through local upgrade. It may not work if you have the Global rom.
it will work. but the CN version of the roms for the 5S and 5G have TONNES! of bloatware. all asking for express permissions for storage and internet.
if you don't mind giving nubia literally all your data, go ahead. but the newest update for the 5S NA/EU will be out soon, v8.07 and it should install and boot on the 5G

I have the Red Magic 5s and yes you can select a default launcher, i have Nova as the default launcher
the steps that you need to do is
open settings -> app info -> top right corner click on the 3 dots -> Default app settings -> Desktop and select your preferred launcher
i cant take credit of this as someone over the 5S forum section provided the steps

There is no Pro version, just plain 4G
To get rid of the apps you have to root the phone first.

As for the playstore check the Xiaomi store, you will find it there, install it from there. If you are unable to find it you can install a different rom. Try the multilanguage (google it) it's prerooted and with play store.

Just a couple of minutes ago my Le Pro3 has been upgraded to 5.9.026S release date 18/05/2017. One of the changes the LIVE button has been replaced by the Pano Search button. Need to check what are the other changes.
Do you have the changelog by chance? I'm assuming this is still Android 6.0...

How did you change recent style and notification panel? I cant find any option tweaking anything else but launcher.
NVM i found it. It seems that i will have to click random chinese options in order to figure things out, great.

The variant is the same both 4 gb and 6 gb the model o is the x720
This is mod firmware Sister Xia based on beta1 26S. In stock firmware these modifications will not be.

Native IR App is missing in UI 5.0
Native IR remote app is gone when i upgraded to official nougat ROM with UI 5.0 from earlier version. I liked that app and don't want any other app from play store.

Unfortunately the best IR remote app of android world was in Nubia chinese rom. After international rom update we lost IR app. I wrote a mail about this situation to Nubia support. They said thet IR app was built in the chinese rom and it is not possible to use or load it as apk file or there is no way to install Nubia IR app to international ROM. Other IR apps are useless garbage and full of advertisements.

That was an app i never used so i do not know. But picture editor before update had an option to draw on pictures. After update, you can not edit a picture with draw option. It has standart android galery app options. You can apply some filters, crop but you can not draw on them.

Was it working before and then stopped? Did you recently update your phone? Do you have Google Launcher installed? Language still set to English(US)? Try going through this.

I'm not 100% sure... I did a clean flash when the 8.0 September image was released and then dirty flashed October on top of it... I didn't think to look between, sorry.

I seem to qualify according to this site, but still no GA.
Just done the October security patch update on mine and Google Assistant and long home press to launch is still working fine.
Try going in and switching off google assistant and then turning it back on may help.

How do you do that? Sorry to ask such a basic question, but the only way I know how to do that is through Google Now settings, and the menu item that I'm thinking should be there ('Google Assistant') isn't.

That's why I referenced that in my reply.... when I go there, it takes me to the same menu as the Google Now settings menu, and there's no "Phone" or "Google Assistant" options.

What's your root method? This happened to me once before also. I was rooted with Magisk so I installed the add GA module. Quick and easy and it was back. If you are rooted with SuperSU then I would recommend uninstalling it with the uninstaller zip found in the SU thread. Alternatively you can install Magisk over the top of it but all the features like Magisk hide may not work. Another option would be to flash a different Rom. Nitrogen and Cortex are both good options and GA should work by default.

Rom Toolbox may be running into a conflict with the Pixel Launcher you flashed. I have a similar root and pixel launcher setup minus fonts and other customizations and my shortcut to RT widgets is broken as it will not create the shortcut on the home screen. I haven't had the time to investigate, but it isn't a high priority for me.
Have you tried a clean flash of the October rom?
- Wipe data/dalvik/cache
- flash your various stock rom images (bootloader, radio, boot, system, vendor)
- flash your root method
- flash pixel launcher and reboot into system.
- Setup phone, G Assist, etc.
- Install Rom Toolbox and desired mods
Lengthy process, but it may be worthwhile to contact JRummy, the author of the Pixel launcher, and sending various logs for analysis and help...

I use Chainfire's systemless root method. I've had GA with this root method before... I'll research Magisk (I've read a little about it, but not enough to be comfortable to jump into it yet) if I'm not able to find another solution. Thank you for your suggestion.

I didn't flash any Pixel launchers... I use Action launcher. I was hoping to avoid wiping all my data, but will do it if I can't get anything else working. Thanks!

If you want MIUI Dialer (and others things in China ROM) without bloatwares of the China ROM, install Stable or Weekly xiaomi.eu ROM.
You need an unlocked bootloader and install latest Official TWRP version (3.4.0-0).
Then you need to "Format Data" in TWRP (in "Wipe" menu) > Go in "Reboot" menu and select "Recovery" > Put ROM file (zip) in internal storage of the phone via USB and install it. Done! You can reboot your phone and wait a bit during the first boot.

I'm already on xiaomi.eu weekly and battery life and performance are suffering because of it and the stable MIUI 12 xiaomi.eu rom has a bug that crashes settings app when opening wallpapers section from settings. Also youtube no longer saves my watch history for some reason and google photos is glitchy. The dark mode is messed up too.

Nice, are you noticing any bugs? Is the rom fully english or does it have some random chinese locale?
Is the internal storage decrypted in TWRP?
What's your antutu score? And what about battery life?

Nice, are you noticing any bugs? Is the rom fully english or does it have some random chinese locale?
Is the internal storage decrypted in TWRP?
What's your antutu score? And what about battery life?

Sorry cannot tell u much since reverted back to .eu rom
Battery life is better since it lacks Google services
And theme manger is completely chinese along side alot of chinese apps.
Just stick with .eu stable rom if u want my recommendation

Does the settings app crash when you open wallpapers section from settings?
Cuz that happened to me and does youtube watch history works?

The wallpapers section from settings crash has been fixed already, just need to re-download the ROM.
I use YouTube Vanced and no issue with YouTube watch history (on latest weekly xiaomi.eu ROM).

I downloaded youtube vanced and still have the same issue with watch history, i was wondering if you could help. I think it's because my mi 9t is rooted, because it works fine for a minute after a reboot and then breaks again.
is the transition process the same from global to eea rom?

Maybe using AdAway or some kind of AdBlocker - turn off, reboot and try again

Omg, you're a genius, i was going crazy, adaway was causing the problem, i don't know how or why but im just sad cuz i lost my ad blocking.

It's not a fault of AdAway but of hosts sources you use. Relax the hosts sources or (better) whitelust:
