Just got my S7 Edge today cant wait to get into this rom

anyone else get there S7? I havent opened it yet but we are gonna get this thing rolling

Did you receive a email and or tracking number prior to delivery or was it a surprise?

I'd be curious about the notification ahead of time as well.

I got the traking number from the Sprints website one hour before my phone was delivered last night. They are slow to update their system I guess. I had been checking the website every 30 minutes. The Gear VR is on back order and ships by the 7th it says.

surprise wasnt supposed to ship till the 7th. got the hotspot hacked already

Has any rooted their S7 yet?

Sign up for UPS tracking through the UPS site. I never got a notification from Sprint, but as soon as Sprint created the shipping label UPS notified me.
CAN"T WAIT FOR ROOT!

Not sure if you guys have kept up with every thread, but our bootloader is locked, thats a very bad thing.

I got my two Gear VRs in the mail on Friday. They are cool, but chew the battery up and the GS7 gets hot during use.

Get used to that rom. Gonna be here awhile lol

I have an S7 edge, I have been rooted since the evo4G LTE my first android phone. I'm really starting to miss it. Sadly I think this is going to be how it is moving forward. Sucks

Not true, both Bootloader 3 and 4 have stable working root methods for sprint and I've ran both of those with no problems at all, it just takes a while to set up.

US Unlock Vs ATT version

Hi All,
Does anyone get change to check new US unlock version available from last week, I am thinking to get that, how good it is like
- Can I get it rooted?
- How it is different from ATT version from H/W specs prospective

I just got the US unlocked version today: same exact hardware. Just no carrier apps or bloat. I have no intention of rooting as it will break Samsung and Android pay which I use.

I can report voLTE and wifi-calling work with the unlocked version on T-Mobile. Like the previous poster stated, there is no bloat or carrier apps. Tethering works out of the box.

Do you notice any improvement in multitasking or overall system speed? I'm trying to determine how much of a difference bloat is making in my overall experience.

I don't have a carrier version to compare it to but so far the phone is pretty snappy. I haven't had any issues with ram management or slow downs.

Interesting my new unlocked US version is still on May security updates while all carrier versions are on July update. Not a good sign if Samsung is prioritizing carrier versions and ignoring the unlocked version.

Same here May security date. With the phone just launching I'm guessing they will go straight to the July update, bringing it up to the carrier versions.

Yes, and that is what I am worrying about. Remember the Samsung Galaxy S4 Dev Edition? There was not ONE single update.
I hope this phone doesn't fall into the same camp. I have a 30 day return period w/ BH Photo so if there are no updates by Aug 1, it will be returned. I already initiated the RMA process to be on the safe side and have my form should I need it.

Nice good strategy, my 14 day return window in best buy will be the coming weekend. I think I'll just keep and see how it goes. If they aren't updating I'm going to sell this when next Nexus comes anyway and probably will not bother with unbranded versions of Samsung phones.

The unlocked devices were just released. They will probably start getting updates faster now.

Nice!!! You have the edge or the regular S7. Still nothing on my S7 and nothing shows on smart switch as well. Also are you using this on AT&T or T-Mobile?

Anyone know if there is VoLTE on at&t with the unlocked version? This is a deal breaker for me. Not really worried about video or wifi calling.

Could be new issues with Oreo policy regarding background processes. Maybe they're trying to iron out as much issues as possible.

Not received here in Michigan too on my Mha-L29.

I got it.... T-Mobile in South Florida.... EMUI 8 and O. Flashed back to stock recovery to allow OTA update. Trying to reinstall TWRP no luck so far.

So are any of the Oreo files on FF giving you an imei approval now that u have received the update?

Huawei is the worst when it comes to updates, i love their phones but man this hide and seek with updates is well exhausting, the latest droid version isn't really necessary ive had the oreo via howta and really there isn't much of a difference between nougat and oreo, but security patches, that is important, well when it comes it comes, till then, i guess ill check from day to day

Los Angeles, purchased through Amazon, runs on T-Mobile, no sign of an update, OTA or with Hisuite.

AUGUST 1st UPDATE GAVE ME BLACK SCREEN OF DEATH

I have the Galaxy S10 Plus Unlocked, I currently use it on sprint. The update that had been pushed to my phone gave it the black screen of death. i am just curious if anyone else faces this? Also i reached out to samsung and they said many users reported it today and some users got locked out of their devices because certain updates put a pin number on the phone...... I get to go to the local samsung certified bestbuy to have them fix the problem. My phone still gets buzzs and vibrates but I cant see it!
