Standby drain - Xiaomi Poco X3 NFC Real Life Review

When you sleep, does your phone sleep, or does it stay up all night and crunch 1s and 0s? Rate this thread to express how you deem the speed at which the Xiaomi Poco X3 NFC's battery drains under standby conditions. A higher rating indicates that when the phone is not in use, the battery drains minimally.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!

Tonight, in airplane mode, and also energy saving mode, my poco has lost 5% battery in 8 hours.

Yes, they are safe to remove. I did it.

I have a bad standby drain, If I use the phone continuously in Wi-Fi (I can also leave it idle it shouldn't cause any issues), I barely get 1% of drain in 2h, but when I'm using LTE, my phone can lose up to 2% an hour, and that's pretty annoying because I left it in standby mode for nearly 10% and I lost 13%....

How to remove?

Night at 10.30 I left my mobile with all apps closed. Morning by 6.30 I noticed 7℅ of battery drain. That means 1℅ per hour. And also I faced a new problem. When phone is plugged in it shows battery full 100℅. But after unplugged it goes suddenly to 96, 95 and goes down in few seconds. I hope it might be the software problem, may not affect my new babe battery anymore.

I lose for the last month or so, each night about 1-2% in about 8/9 hours on standby. I do have silent mode enabled between 23:45-7:00.
In my humble opinion unless someone is losing a gross percentage of battery on standby losing a few % overnight isn't that normal on every phone?

Me too. I usually lose about just 2% overnight. very few

My experience is that after watching youtube-videos with the 'official' app somehow the drain is increased.
Android services and Screen are going up, even when it just seems to be in standby.
I would like to compare it to https://newpipe.schabi.org but the export of my subscriptions doesn't work... Will ask their support for that - or does somebody here know how to do it?

I got 4 days and 13 hours with mine, using GingerDX aswell.
There's no secret for that, just chage the configurations for max battery saving and disable background apps or services you don't need.
Calibrate battery, maybe some build.prop edits and that's it

4 days? maybe you seldom use your phone.
just several sms,phone
Yes, maybe wifi and network data not work
i used a bit of 3g while out and about FB and news, used wifi when i was at home again just bits and bobs, sent quite a few texts as well as some calls. was just average use nothing major.
the only thing i did was download Battery Calibrator charged to 100% ran the app to clear the battery stats and got a nice 4 days out of it
7days 1hour with 11% left.
Now i do use phone for a few calls/sms only, but hey, it's even better than my old non-android one!

my first 20% of battery drain so fast but starting from 80% and down drains slower....

Can someone that doesn't have problem with battery drain upload battery status file (data/system/batterystats.bin)?

Well,
First of all, this (note that smartass is preinstalled on GingerDX, at least on v013 it was; screen brightness for me is set at minimum level, 13% which is more than fine indoors and outside if cloudy);
V6 supercharger from here (yet i do have some troubles with it, as described here);
Autostarts to remove many processes from the autostart list, but play carefully around with them! I won't provide the entire list of enabled/disabled apps (reason: too lazy, it's 4 am in the morning);
Advanced Task Killer to kill all the unnecessary ones (incl messaging and some more, don't forget to kill the task killer along).
Android Assistant launcher widget to free some memory (i do keep it in memory, it doesn't seem to cause any trouble by staying there);
Signal quality also plays a role in how fast your battery goes, better quality = longer standby; so play around with places in your home to find best spot, it can take a few days though;
Also i use my phone mostly for a few short calls (10-30 mins total per day) and an sms or two, this also helps, since i'm most of the time at home near my computer (i work at home lol);
Charging from ~10% from computer (slower charging) seems to help a bit too, not entirely sure;
Static wallpaper! Live ones are a power hog.
And generally - the less you toy with your phone, the longer will the battery last

Overnight battery drop

I am experiencing a 20% battery drop overnight consistently over last few days (can't remember what the drop was when i first got the tab). It's true that I have quite a few apps installed. But none running overnight that "actively" run in the notifications bar (like skype) - only 'push' stuff (email, whatsapp etc.)
Looked at what is causing it and it's "Android OS".... i hope it's not another Android OS "bug" like the Samsung Galaxy S2 (which luckily I didn't experience with my S2!)
What's everyone else's battery life in an idle state / overnight?
An easier way to diagnose this is to use betterbatterystats, it eliminates 99% of the guess work.
Have you tried betterbatterystats? It costs a few bucks, I think, but it has really helped me stop some battery killers. I was surprised by some apps that had wakelocks and weren't identified in the basic android battery information screen.
Will give it a go
So 20% drop overnight is not normal then?
I only charge mine every few days. I haven't noticed a huge battery drop overnight.

Your usage seems abnormally high.
I have monitored the battery usage overnight for the past week of my new tab 7.7 3G and at the same time my old tab 7 3G. The 7.7 drops on average of 3% overnight (equivalent to 0.3%/hour) while the old tab has been dropping 10% overnight (a little over 1%/hour).
I have a couple of screens full of widgets on both. Neither of them set to auto-update widgets and have all notifications off. Wifi is on for both, while the 7.7 has a sim in it and the tab 7 does not.

Mine was consuming battery like yours and I found out it was because of the Samsung email client that I've setup to get push email from google. The email apps keep giving me unable to connect gmail but in actual fact the email was push to me. I left it like that initially until I found exchange service as my to battery consumer. After removing my gmail account from the apps, everything back to normal. I think there is a big with the Samsung email client that keep trying to connect to the exchange server and sucks all the juice.

Help me understand my battery

Nexus 6p running 7.1.1 beta. Rooted, but running stock ROM and kernel. Only modifications are Pixel launcher and Google Assistant. Brightness at 10-15%. Wi-Fi is on while the screen is on only, but Bluetooth and mobile data are always off. Location services are set to battery saving. Screen timeout set to 30 seconds. Adaptive brightness and ambient display is off. I'm only getting 3hrs SOT, but standby time is great. Only watch one hour of YouTube altogether and use social media often. Is this good or is there something wrong with my battery? ?

I get 4 hrs of SOT
Average use daily is checking e-mails - checking Facebook and Twitter - Youtube and Music streaming - no games.... Sometimes, it drains without even doing that and I barely pass a day without charging it.....
PS:
The Screen on time is inconsistent as it might be just 2 hrs or 3 hrs and it would be consumed completely!
Is there a ROM or an app or anything that can help me get better SOT?
Thanks and apologies for the message, I now know that it was unnecessary.

Make sure you let it run for a couple full cycles and you have to read it correctly. You can't get useful stats the minute you install it because it needs to run through full cycles while charging and unplugged, as it can only provide information for the time it's been installed. The longer you run it, the more accurate it is. Second, the App Usage stat is a percentage of the percentage of battery used. So if your battery is at 70% when you look at app usage and it says those things used 57% of the battery, that's 57% of the 30% used to that point.
You also need to look at the Held Awake stats because that will tell you what, if any, processes are keeping your phone awake and thus contributing to drain.
I have found that the system in Nougat does tend to use more battery than it did in MM. However, doze implementation is better and it deep sleeps more and does a better job of saving battery. In fact since Nougat, I've stopped using Greenify because it actually seemed to make my battery worse. Since I've been on Nougat I get well over a day on a charge with about 5-5:30 SoT. However, battery also comes down to what ROM and kernel you use and how much you do processor and screen intensive tasks. Music streaming doesn't tend to use much battery, but if you spend a lot of time web surfing, Youtube and games, you'll cook your battery no matter what. If you use the Facebook app, nothing you can do will help as it's a dreadful battery suck.
Here are the numbers provided by the GSam App
Are these numbers good or bad?
The average use gets me through the day but if I use it heavily, it would last 3hrs max.

Stock OnePlus 5 Android Pie Fast Battery Drain

Hey!
I got my stock OP5 updated into Android Pie last January 26, 2019. After receiving the update and updating it, I seem to notice that the battery drains faster. Anyone experiencing similar?
I honestly haven't but I ended up doing a full wipe attempting to fix a problem that was actually hardware related. Have you tried clearing all cache in recovery?
Sent from my ONEPLUS A5000 using Tapatalk
No, not yet. Also, I can't do it right now since I have lot of files and important apps. I will let you know if I do it.
Here is an update on my battery status.
When you get the chance, I suggest you do a backup and do a full wipe. Stuff like this is rather common when you do a upgrade of the OS and this is why everyone here recommend a clean install when it comes to major updates.

Clearing just the cache (not data) won't lose any of your files. I don't think you lose anything really if I remember right. It may not fix the problem but it can't hurt to try. It should probably be done every now and then anyway.
Thanks for the suggestions.
Haven't really tried your suggestions yet since I am really busy these days.
Here is an update. My status is improving.
What happened was my battery was totally drained, 0 and off.l, when I woke up. Then, I charged it to 100 then turned it on. After that, my battery became tolerable.
Hi
Can I suggest you to download the naptime app from PlayStore (by Francisco franco?). It's just about to open the app ,activate it ,go down and choose which apps you won't put on sleep like Gmail/ WhatsApp/ messenger or whatever you need always up. All the other processes will be putted to sleep. Francisco Franco is the king of this things . Don't need to be rooted. You can have a Go. Today after use it a lot,I still 33% left. Hope it's help as the op5 is still a so great phone but for business they need to put it down.

Standby drain

When you sleep, does your phone sleep, or does it stay up all night and crunch 1s and 0s? Rate this thread to express how you deem the speed at which the Xiaomi Mi Note 10's battery drains under standby conditions. A higher rating indicates that when the phone is not in use, the battery drains minimally.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
standby drain is bad for a 5kmah battery
Such a huge battery drain for me too. Which forces me to recharge the phone when I wake up in order to have a full battery.
Check the CPU frequency. Sometimes it gets stuck over 1248mhz at idle. You have to reboot the phone to get it back down to 576mhz.
There's an app in playstore called "CPU Stats". That app puts a CPU meter in the status bar. Handy for letting you know when to restart
Not sure if thats me but i think ive noticed a drain by GSM, same issue that was on my mi 9 with global rom. try to go to service mode from dialer *#*#4636#*#* and set connection type to LTE/WCDMA seems like its helping at least a little
This became a common Miui issue these days. Had this problem with my Mi9T also, and couldn't resolve it in any way, maybe only by flashing custom rom, but this is not a solution.
Usually it was "cell standby" or "whatsapp" that was draining the battery...and I tried everything, debloating, battery optimizations, network mode changes etc.
I have the same problem. Yesterday I used the Mi note 10 intensely. I did 7h of screen and he was still 40% when I went to sleep. Today when I woke up he was 24%. It drained 16% without any use. I have to find out what is draining so much in Stand By.
I'm sad i'm selling my MI NOTE 10 to whom staying in Côte d'Ivoire (Ivory Coast)
If you are in Europe, just apply the 11.0.16 Ota, if you are coming from 11.0.13 global stable. It fixes the battery drain. Download and install via the updater app.

My drain was pretty minimal before updating to the newest EU Rom, but now it's much worse.
So not the same experience for everyone I guess.
I guess not... Not really sure what's happening. Waiting to 1 more day to unlock my bootloader in order to install globe ROM (android 10). It should improve battery drain and camera app... Let's see...

Can't really risk that with SafetyNet being seemingly impossible to bypass in the future.
With magisk it's fine, I think...

Well for now, but the tools are in place to completely break it, they just have to flip the switch. Which will happen sooner or later I'm sure of that and not passing Safety Net until some finds another exploit (which can be months) isn't really an option for me.
Wakelocks has been a constant issue for me on MIUI for years with bad standby as a result. This phone is no exception. It was bad on EEA Global ROM. It's bad on Android 10. I love Xiaomi but for the love of god it always has drain issues in standby. 1% per hour is not OK on a phone like this.

Yes you're absolutely right,I wasn't aware of this,there is still a bypass but not for long...

Check the CPU frequency. Sometimes it gets stuck over 1248mhz at idle. You have to reboot the phone to get it back down to 576mhz.
There's an app in playstore called "CPU Stats". That app puts a CPU meter in the status bar. Handy for letting you know when to restart

I confirm this, the cpu usage was stick around 60% at 1.2ghz, without doing nothing. The reboot fix this, but what cause this problem? This phone 2 days ago get an hard reset.

I'm not sure what's causes it. It's either a kernel issue or a system app within MIUI 11
It still happens with the latest 11.0.9 update
Hi, any heating issue with drain, during videocall or web browsing with this Mi Note 10 (Miui Global Stable 11.0.17)? I'm from EU. Thank you!
after the Update to Global 11.1.1.0 Android 10 seen great improvement in battery life and standby drain. Dont know if its only me.
