Eincar Y-A257 Double Din Head unit. Need upgraded from 4.4 to 5.1?

I purchased this unit as an android 5.1 model. The unit I got is only 4.4. The splash screen says "TOPWAY Android 4.4". It was also supposed to have 2ghz processor. But the specs show 1.6 and 2. I'll have to check that later.
I have a few questions:
1) Is there a big difference between 4.4 and 5.1? In other words - is it worth the trouble to try to get this unit upgraded to 5.1?
2) Does anyone know how to upgrade this unit to 5.1? Or know of any company in Los Angeles that will do it for me?
I'd post a link to the exact unit. But their site sucks and you can't do that. The specs are as follows:

There should be settings for HU besides the OS setting. Can you locate the HU settings?
Beep can be turned off from there, at least for the Joying ones.

Bought the Topnavi 10.1" Octa Core Android 8.1 2+32GB Head Unit Car Radio for Lexus IS250 IS350 2005 2006 2007 2008 2009 2010 2011 3G RDS some time back but since installing it the AC controls dont seem to work and it just stays on cant seem to turn it off. Can anyone help with this?please
