Enabling DisplayPort Alt Mode in Kernel? - Google Pixel 4 Questions & Answers

It looks like DisplayPort Alt Mode is supported by the hardware and needs to be enabled in the kernel.
Anyone know if there are there any kernels out there with this enabled that we can flash?
Willing to try and do it myself I wanted to see if anybody had tried before?

usb host mode without holding back?

Hey guys, so its great i can get access to my usb sticks on the vega so long as i remember to power up with the back button pressed, but i was juswt wondering if there is a way to get the vega into usb host mode if for whatever reason the device was started without back being pressed?
If not, is there a way to make the default start up selection be inusb host mode?
Thanks
USB Mode needs specific settings in the kernel at boot time. I think Corvus was suggesting an option on one of his ROM's to have host as the default. Otherwise, I believe the POV 1.10 defaults to host.
Thanks for the reply, it would be great if the devs could offer roms with and without usb host mode as default, at least until i can get my head around the android kernel so can offer it up as options.
Thanks

[Q] [Ques] USB peripheral accessories on OTG enabled N4 (with external power supply)

I recently flashed hellscore b45 kk and @justvarshney's kernel patch for enabling OTG host. I can now successfully connect pendrive to N4
Then I tried connecting Keyboard and mouse to the phone. Ideally it should start up, or I should be able to use keyboard in textboxes. but Nothing happens.
I would appreciate any help in connecting and using USB accessories like keyboard, mouse etc to OTG enabled Nexus 4

I can't guess roots of problem. But I personally have tried keyboards mouses joystick with very same justvarshney kernel. They worked great even through à hub connected simultaneously with a flash drive. Might be try a clean ROM and check...

Otg on chroma 5.1.1

Hi everyone, I have been reading for like 2 weeks on how to get my USB otg to work, I have chroma 5.1.1 ROM and quatra v6, I had hellscore but of wasn't working either. I have the y cable and I have tried it with my battery bank supplying power and also with my charging cable. I have stick mount installed. Nothing is working, am I missing something?
I am not familiar with quatra v6, is there a setting in trickster related to OTG that you may need to enable that you missed? How about swapping USB drives and trying another one? Perhaps switch to Franco kernel and try OTG on that? I doubt it is the cable or power supply's fault, but maybe you should try switching out the cable or power supply for another one. Good luck.
Thanks for the advice, unfortunately it didn't help, I'm still working on it

How to access Z1's serial port / uart?

Does anyone know where the uart is located on this device and how I can tap into it?
I need to do some kernel debugging and from the CM kernel commit log I can tell they enabled it in the kernel, but I simply can't find any documentation on where the physical connectors are located.

You get a serial port when you are flashing with qpst if thats of any help. When phone is turned off, you hold vol + and then insert usb cable and the phone will be in a modem diag flash mode something for like 5sec and if there hasnt been any activity from the connected pc then it will continue booting. Was quite a hassle to flash original zui through qpst I tell you but thats the only time ive seen a serial comport from the phone in device manager.
You might already know this and im sry if its a dumb answer.
While the Qualcomm Loader mode is technically a USB serial port, this is not what I'm searching for.
I talk about the kernel debugging serial port used for outputting kernel messages.

If you had USB debugging enabled, you can install the custom ROM in recovery mode with twrp commands via adb. Android you can use the help of a mouse connected to usb-c (e.g. via an adapter).
