Hello,
I tried to connect my xbox one controller with bluetooth on my new android head unit (px6, android 10) but i can’t. When I try to connect my controller, nothing happens.
The controller works well with other devices (other android). Same for the head unit, works well with obdII device or with my iphone.
I also updated my rom.
Anyone know what could be wrong ?
Thanks

Is it possible to pair the Nexus Player ASUS controller with any Android device? I mean is it a general Bluetooth controller one could use for gaming on a tablet, phone, like any other Bluetooth gamepads out there?

You should be able to over Bluetooth which is how it connects tot he NP. I known that emulators support controllers so why not give it a try? If you don't have the NP I'll try it and let you know
My controller successfully gets connected with my phone and my laptop. Just press the home and back button together for a few seconds to get it to pairing mode and the simply pair it via bluetooth.
I don't have a NP, it doesn't seem to be good enough to order (have a Chromecast), with the limited memory and stuff. But the Gamepad looks so cool, I thought why not get it for my Android games? Wanted to have a Bluetooth gamepad anyways for some time...

What kind of laptop were you using? Has anybody gotten it to pair with a Windows Laptop yet?

A normal windows laptop with Bluetooth
What edition of windows? I couldn't see available for pairing it on my MSI GT70 with Windows 8.1 64-bit. Other devices pair just fine.
I got it to pair on my laptop. But the buttons and pads aren't mapped correctly, e.g. it didn't work on Steam Big Picture or on any games. It's stuck going top-right. I assume they have the triggers mapped on the wrong axis. If anyone knows a way to remap the buttons, d-pad and sticks, I'd try it again. And it connected perfectly with my phone (Oneplus One.) I didn't test every button, wouldn't know how. Was able to remap some of them in MAME4Droid.
I paired the np remote with my nexus 6 and have an issue, when using it in Kodi, the select button ( the big center round one) does not do anything, any ideas?
I couldn't pair it with my G4, any tips?
I have tried through bluetooth and the phone is unable to pair with the controller. Is there any other way to work around this issue and connect wirelessly? Also will a USB-C OTG cable work with the 6P?
I haven't received my 6P yet but on my 6 I use sixaxis controller with my ps3 controller. Not sure if ps4 controller does native Bluetooth gamepad or you need to use the app.
Use this to set the parent address to your nexus 6ps bluetooth mac address (you can find it in settings->about)

Then connect it as a standard bluetooth device.
Unfortuantely after 30sec it starts lagging terribly
So I successfully got the ps4 controller to pair over Bluetooth without adjusting any settings. It wouldn't work at first but it added it as a device. Then when I tried again the next day after restarting the phone it connected.
you have to hold PS button and share at the same time until you get the flashing white light.
However, the triggers mapped weird for games and there is lag.
Does anyone know of a way to fix the mapping without root?
I also successfully used the OTG cable with the ps3 controller. This worked a lot better this works a lot faster then the Bluetooth ps4. And the mapping is correct.
Haven't tried usb to ps4 yet. UPDATE
So ps4 over otg also has some mapping issues. Tested this out in minecraft settings since you can customize controller mapping. For some reason on ps4 some buttons didn't seem to me recognized, everything was weird, like r2 was labeled as a button and triangle wasn't showing anything.
Tried to connect ps3 via Bluetooth but couldn't get it to work
Hi. Anyone got experience with connecting a Shenwan 2.4ghz gamepad to a MX10 Android TV box with Oreo. It has no inbuilt Bluetooth and the controller has a 2.4ghz USB dongle.
I'm going through the same problem however the gamepad is an IPEGA 9076, the MX10 does not recognize the USB dongle.
Yeah think it's maybe hit and miss then. Although the Shenwan or whoever the hell makes them, didn't work on any device at all eg ps3. Got refund and need to bin them!
I tried another and it works on the mx10.

Having said that tho the games that support a pad are probably less than 10% of the ones I tried. So not great as a console but not really what the mx10 was designed for despite the marketing. If you want a cheap dongle controller I'd try the above tho and works for me on other devices. Good price and feels like a ps3 pad. Only thing missing is vibration function. Sounds wrong but there you go!
Would an update of the MX10 firmware solve this problem? I think the original Android Oreo of this tvbox is incompatible with gamepads.
hey guys, i got this unit, trying to get android auto to work, carplay works great.
When i plug the device into my tundra 2020 it shows up labeled carplay, it boots into the android os, i hit the carkit icon and try to do the bluetooth pairing with goes without issue, but when the icon just stays at waiting ... i have a one plus 8t phone.
when i disconnect the carlink and just use a usb cable to phone android auto works
something else that is odd, i tried hooking this up to my tv usb port and the device comes up as iphone.... just wanted to see any disk or os labels
so it is like this unit is stuck in apple mode, and i can't get the android auto to start... any help is welcomed ...
according to site this unit does andriod 9 os, and wireless carplay and wireless android auto
Hey everyone! I bought an Onn. Streaming Box at Walmart a couple of days ago, intending to run Torque Pro on my car's preexisting Backup Screen w/ a Bluetooth OBD2 dongle (a tiny $25 self-contained Android box seemed to make a lot of sense for that application). I sideloaded the Torque apk onto the box and used a remote app w/ mouse cursor to set up the layout, but when I went to finally pair the OBD2 dongle, it wouldn't pick it up. Since the screen just says "Accessories", I'm guessing you can only pair things like headphones, controllers, keyboards, etc.
I also tried sideloading "Bluetooth Direct", and forcibly connecting to my phone's Bluetooth address (just to test), and it couldn't connect (it seems like that app doesn't work for a lot of people though).
Is there any way around this?
I'm waiting for a powered OTG cable to be delivered today, so I can root and hopefully figure something out that way. It seems weird if it's really a limitation built into the OS, since regular android is buried underneath there somewhere, and it isn't like the box has some special Bluetooth hardware that limits it to certain devices.
If all else fails, maybe I could just get an OBD2 to USB cord and plug into an OTG, but idk if that would work either (it should on other Android devices).
And for anyone wondering, yes, the Android TV UI optimized for giant 4k TV's does not work well on a 5" 480p HDMI -> RCA screen, LOL.
Figured this out if anybody wants to do something similar, I just sideloaded the app "Bluetooth Scanner - Bluetooth finder - pairing" (com.pzolee.bluetoothscanner), and was able to pair it right away. I am running LineageOS and rooted with Magisk, but I'd think this should work on stock too.
