Hi guys
Some oft you know me from S2, S3, S4, Note 2/3, and other devices for which i made some Samsung and CM11 builds. I am thinking about to buy the new Galaxy note 10.1 2014 tablet. I noticed the development here is really poor so let me change it. I am spending all my money at the moment to buy this tablet. The current situation is that i have 120€. I need a bit more so when you like donate please a bit so i can make builds as soon as possible. THX

Thanks for your interest in development for this tablet. A few folks here recently donated to Scott and he started his Clean ROM development recently, so your mileage with donations might vary right now . I'll surely try to donate after a few days.
Scotts still developing but opted to not buy the tab. Honestly I'm not sure how I feel about that. Ive seen Revolion HD also has been taking donations. If people donate for a device specific purchase and then back out that just doesnt bode well with me. I'm not knocking Scotts work he does great work.

It depends how much money i get. I would preffer the WIFI version.
@m3dd0g Could you put a test rom in the Android development forum. This way it will attract more fellow members to chip in for your Note 10.1 , We are already very few sane minds here who want the development to work, else it will be hard for anyone to notice it. Just my five cents. Rest is up to you. Cheers.

He retracted his statement a few posts down.
Im not familiar with you work, but out of curiosity, are you trying to support the S pen with this or is that something that's not really possible? That's kinda make it or break it for me in regards to flashing a custom ROM. Cheers!
No 0x0 root
I think one of the main reasons that development is poor is the fact that most of us cannot install a new ROM without tripping the efuse so there isn't the same "market" as there would otherwise be. This is the first Android device I have owned that is stock and unrooted. This is starting to frustrate me to the point that I am considering selling mine and if Google gets its act together and actually releases a new Nexus 10, I probably shall. I am then very unlikely to buy another Samsung device, which is a great shame as I have been a loyal customer for several years.
Until this situation changes (and I am starting to think it never will), the number of people installing third party ROMs is likely to remain very low.
new rom?
personally I don't care about tripping the Knox or not. What I would like to see though is work on a custom recovery that can be flashed without flashing root first. and if you were going to work on one it should be the P 600. The wifi version is the one most commonly used and would attract the most attention. of course you would be in competition with cleanrom for rom development eh? That might be more fun!
Apparently certain apps and games wont work on the Z1 - DANGIT !!
Could we make a list of them here please for everybodys reference? :good:
Then maybe bombard the developers so that they update their software... :highfive:
Yeah I noticed that too! Boom beach and real racing 3 are two that i have noticed missing on my zuk z1!

I play lot of games and need good battery. Will use for two three years at least.
These are my basic needs. Please help me decide between these two phones.
Neither, go for Nexus 6P or Note 5.
Had the OPO, liked it but had hardware issues with it (wouldn't hold onto a cellular network long, battery crapped out). OP2 don't have those issues but the third party support is lacking. I saw the Note 5 camera in action today, blows the OP2 camera. Also the OP2 performance sucks, I feel slow downs where the OPO didn't, but I think this is primarily Oxy**** issue, if it was running CM it would be awesome!

I think the performance of the OP2 is really, really good - device also disperses heat pretty well which tames the 810 beast down.
It always depends how you run your device though. I don't enjoy it as much as I'd like out of stock.
Sent from my ONE A2003 using Tapatalk
Oneplus 2, with modified thermal you can play games without aggressive thermal throttling. SD 810 rumors are exaggerated.
With thermal hotplugged i played real racing 3 for 40m with all cores enabled at stocks min/max freqs and it doesn't throttle.

My only hesitation in not just saying "go with the OP2" is the lack of third-party support, as pointed out by @ludester. CyanogenMod has CM12.1 and CM13 repositories going for the device now, and other ROMs and kernels based on OxygenOS are starting to appear as well, so I don't think that'll be an issue for too much longer. If you already had the OP1, I'd recommend against upgrading since you don't gain anything major other than a fingerprint scanner, but since you're asking which of the two, my vote is definitely for the OP2.

Not to ignore LAF and FP for custom ROMs are still in mist as Oneplus refused to release the codes, saying they are licensed or something similar.
Despite that two thing, I personally think OPT is a good phone. OOS is not perfect but we can expect OOS on MM.
Stick with oneplus one. I am heavy gamer I. E injustice normally with my old OPO I need to charge one time. But with the OPT I have charge twice a day

They make good phones, that was matter.
A good phone doesn't mean 600-700usd do you know that?.
Why the hell will i buy a phone for 650usd when I can have something equal or even better for 389usd?
Fortunately I can buy a phone of 800usd, but I will not because its not worth it. For 389 I have something that for me is better.

I think nougat will be released with their new phone - X920. LeEco keeps all their phones updated to the same firmware version and it's pointless to release a phone with Marshmallow in 2017.
That is not exactly true, but the question is the LeMax 2 going to get the upgrade, when and if it ever happens? The LeMax Pro is still selling with 5.1. Now, what was that about all their phones have the same version? Even their EUI versions are different, although they all look pretty much the same.
So we should see Android 7 on this phone eventually in some official capacity, correct?
Which is best? and why?
Note 4 or Mi A1
actually I already have a note 4 (but with MTK ) and I want to buy a SD phone for more modding choices.

You should buy RN Note 5 Pro. A1 and Note 4 are old now.
If you have rn4 now why would you ask whether to buy this phone again if you're pretty familiar with it? Wtf?
Anyway, I have both of them and if I was going to sell one that would have been rn4 as I prefer mi a1
I would go for the Note4, bigger battery and cheaper
But at the end of the day, it depends what YOU want ... battery-life, price, newer OS, MIUI ....

as I mentioned above, mine is a MTK processor, and I'd like to shift to Snapdragon for wider range ROMs choices
The most important thing, you said that you would to sell the RN4 rather than mi a1,, why?
