Does anyone know how to show the software keyboard during a remote desktop session that is running in full screen mode?
I second this,
does anybody know how, i have connected to my work TerminalServer in full screen landscape, but cannot get a keyboard!!!
any ideas please
i wish to keep using Remote Desktop Mobile!
don't use full screen...
then it's almost fullscreen but with the little icon for the keyboard on the bottom.
I had the same problem. and this worked for me.
i just activate the virtual keyboard of windows when i remote control my computer (go to start --> all programs --> accessories --> Ease of Access (ore sth. like that i dunno the english term) --> onscreen keyboard.
altough, this keyboard is pretty hard to use because it's very small.
I'm desperately trying to find this out too. If you don't run in full screen, you have the big black bar across the top and the big black bar across the bottom. You waste loads of screen space, plus when trying to close a program you often end up hitting the "ok/x" button of win mo. Does anyone have any experience with remote desktop mobile? Any reg tweaks to show a keyboard button?
i haven't tried this myself, but this SHOULD work in theory...
map a button (go to Settings->Personal->Buttons) to "<Input Panel>" (should be at the top of the list of mappable items). i guess only the Send key's Long Hold will be available for most people for mapping purposes...
once mapped to a hardware button of your choice, fire up remote desktop in fullscreen mode and give that button a press...see if the windows mobile on-screen keyboard pops up...
let us know what happens...cheers from pakistan!

I tried this; however the keyboard flashes momentarily and refuses to remain.
try zaDesktop (free), which imo works much better: more configuration options, including screen resolution setting (up 10 1024x768), plus easy access to keyboard - long press on the screen during session and choose "Show keyboard" (see attached pic)
as for Remote Desktop Mobile, the last resort is using PC Windows on-screen keyboard, but it's not that convenient
i have it linked to the gsensor to rotate the screen, then just rotating my phone allows me to call up the keyboard.
I'm developing a fullscreen windows mobile app in which I will want to display a popup menu when the user taps and holds certain areas of the screen. When doing this on "vanilla" WinMo 5 or 6.x everything looks just like expected. However, when I test this on a HTC HD2 (which uses custom HTC menus that are more finger friendly than WinMo's native menus) things does't work the way I want. As I was saying, my app is a fullscreen app but when I call TrackPopupMenu (it is a native app using the Win32 API) not only do I get a popup menu but I also get a menu bar at the bottom of the screen with one of the soft buttons enabled with the text "Close". This seems to be part of the behavior of HTC's custom menus.
When using HTC Album, which is a fullscreen app, I notice there are popup menus that don't bring the menu bar to front with the "close" button. So I would guess it is possible to create the kind of popup menus I want. This question is simpy how?
I create a menu using the CreatePopupMenu() API and then show it using the TrackPopupMenu() (or TrackPopupMenuEx(); same result either way). The app is made fullscreen using the SHFullScreen() and SHInitDialog() APIs.
Anybody got any ideas on how to get rid of the menu bar? Thanks in advance!
When I go to the start menu the metro UI appears. However whenever I move the mouse the boxes vanish. The start menu background remains, so basically i have a grey screen. If I click where a shortcut box should be it works and takes me to the app or desktop. So basically everything is there, it just turns invisible as soon as i move the mouse.
I was running consumer preview without this issue. Any ideas?
EDIT:
Also just noticed that if I move the mouse to the right side of the screen and cause the dark bar to appear, the dark bar just flashes and is unresponsive. I then minimized chrome and the sidebar vanished. Now the sidebar, the start menu shortcut, and the recent apps no longer appear when i move the mouse to the corners of the screen. So basically i dont have access to the start menu until i restart.
Today ugoos team show rockchip lightbiz os in their new firmware based on 5.1.1 android for their RK3288 devices.
In this mode it's look like xubuntu with android buttons.
After activating this feature we see that bottom bar changes its appearance. Now there is a button down left corner that allows you to access application menu. Bottom bar turns into a status bar and we can see opened applications and switch among them. All displayed apps get additional upper bar with 3 common and well known buttons: minimize to tray, extend and close. Extend button allows to choose 3 different sizes. Though some apps don’t let resize your window and turns into book orientation after activating this function.

Hi all, I'm looking for a solution with the default keyboard shortcuts to deactivate or change the ones that the Shield uses.
I'm using the Shield to stream my desktop to another monitor, unfortunately the shield uses the sequence of alt + tab to jump between apps running on the shield box directly, rather than jumping between the apps on my PC.
This same annoying functionality exists with the windows key, on the shield it is bound to a google search function so I can't get my start menu to pop up.
Does anyone know how I may be able to unbind, or modify these shield shortcuts? I've enabled developer mode, I am good to try advanced solutions through command line etc. But I will need to be pointed in the right direction.
