Hi Guysmy Galaxy Tab S2 8 inch - SM-T710 is running andriod 7.0 , which seems to be the last support ed / issued version.
I have started to notice that a few apps are crashing when I try to open them...
My Oneplus phone run Oxygen 10.1.....
Is it possible to format / wipe the Samsung, and install Oxygen 10? or is is a case of living with it till it becomes unusable ?
Thanks
You can flash oxygen os if someone has made a port of it, converted it to run on a tab s2 I doubt that's been done though.
There are loads of other custom android versions available I'm running lineage os 16 which is android 9 on mine. I've tried android 10 versions but none work correctly.
Many thanks. I will look into lineage os 16. Are there are how to guides that you would recommend?

Right after Google released Android Nougat 7.0 and made the source available for developers to tinker with, devices started getting unofficial builds, even the ones that weren't officially supported but that's the beauty of Android, isn't it?
At the time of writing this, a bunch of developers have already booted up Nougat on their phones and are trying to fix whatever bugs are left.
So, coming to the point, do you think that we'll get an Android Nougat build? Considering that recently a dual-core processor phone Xperia M just booted into Android Nougat and as we all know that currently we're running Marshmallow which some users including myself feel that it's a bit resource-intensive than Lollipop(I have the 1gb variant).
Keep Calm and wait for Android N by premaca for our device.
If Sprout Series can handle Android N then our device can handle it too.
BTW Marshmallow isn't that Resource intensive on 1 GB RAM too it runs pretty much smoothly.

Hi,
I couldn't put this on the ROMs forum so I put it here instead. I have been looking endlessly for weeks for a custom rom for the sm-t357t (t-mobile) (RR, Lineage, etc.) with no avail. It is really annoying bc the standard tab a gets nougat and this one is stuck on lollipop. I would build one myself, except I have low end hardware and am a noob when it comes to building ROMs. I am rooted with twrp and would be grateful for any guidance or ROMs.
Thanks
I too would like an update for this particular T-mobile tablet. I need 6.0 or better for Google Family Link.
Same here- Looking for a Galaxy Tab A (SM-T357T) ROM. Android 6 or preferably 7.
bump
With no official release of MM/N, I highly doubt a custom rom.
I have this tablet too. I know the sm-t355 is basicly the same tablet and I believe it got updated. Why can we not get this flashed our device. Im not sure.

I've got an opportunity to get a new t380 for free. Can anyone tell me if the OS can still be updated from nougat to pie? Also, considering this is a 2017 build, is it even worth the effort?
Thanks for your thoughts,
dow
Hello, Yes, the device has Android Pie One UI, it is also possable to get twrp and get masigk running, though you will most likey want to stick to Android Nougat beacuse in Android Pie, Masigk is not installing. But this can change. Also there is no custom roms for the 2017 Tab A, but this can change. The tablet will most likey not get android 10, but aleast you will get longer support on Android Pie than on Android Nougat.
Hi
I have an old Galaxy Tab 4 (SM-T530) 10.1 tablet that has been sitting in a cupboard (wife and I have new tablets).
I decided to see if I could give it some new life by rooting and adding a modified ROM, etc.
I have installed Lineage OS 16 (android 9.0), and appropriate GAPPs (Open GApps - nano) via TWRP Recovery.
Took a few days of minor mistakes on my part, but I eventually got there.
However, on start up, loading of Lineage OS 16 takes several minutes.
Maybe L. OS 16 is a bit too much for the old tablet.
Could someone suggest a ROM, OS, etc. that would suit the old Galaxy Tab 4 ?
Or do I need to do some tweaking in the Settings?
The CPU is a 32bit ARM Cortex - A7.

With Android R, situation will improve. And bootup of the ROM takes 50 seconds, about like stock ROM. And by using it, it's better than stock. Anyway, it wasn't needed to create a new thread, instead discuss in my thread. No tweaks are suggested by me, device is good as it is.
Thanks matteo0026.
Actually the ROM is starting up faster now - 50sec. But the clock widget doesn't load.
Which thread of yours are you suggesting I watch?
Thanks again.

About clock, try to remove and put it another time. Even if I've never had problems with it. Of course, first boot is always longer, then be patient!
To ask about lineage 16, ask in lineage 16 thread, which is in original development section
