In my shield pro 2019 there is no switch visible to allow the installation of apps of unknown sources.
I have developer options enabled already.
How can I install apps of unknown sources?
Can you just install filelinked? I've got most my apps using it
I'm late, but it is Settings - Device Preferences - Security & restrictions - Unknow sources

I've tried to use web download on the Analiti app by accessing apkpure and bringing up an app I have on other android devices. It will not download then I found that BlueMail and Filelinked are "not compatable" from Nvidia yet watched videos on YouTube that were made up to just a couple months ago showing this being done. The only thing I can think of is firmware upgrade 8.2.1 as of 11/16 is what is causing this. I'm wondering myself if there is a workaround or how to downgrade back to the last firmware if anyone has any input on this?
Looks like the Shield TV is locked down like chastity belt, going to be returning mine back to Best Buy. What a rip, considering Fire TV cube is half the price.
At least 8.2.2 installs from unknown sources fine.

PayPal have recently released an application for Android, yet they have bizarrely only released it in the US... preventing UK users from using it. Now, theoretically it is possible to ask a US residing friend to provide you with a copy of the APK... but this means the application won't appear in your 'My Downloads' list in the market, and therefore you won't automatically get updates etc.
There is a better way!
An application by the name of 'Market Enabler' is the answer. This application is designed to let people from countries that don't have the ability to purchase apps do so - it effectively makes your device think it's in the US, giving you access to the US market. By installing this, switching region, installing PayPal, switching region back and then uninstalling Market Enabler (if you desire), you end up with the PayPal app on your device and in your 'My Downloads' (as shown in this screen shot).

The downside? You need a rooted device
please note that this app have been pullout from us market.

I needed to install some stuff after I flashed my rom, so I quickly wrote up this tool.
You can throw whatever APK files into it, and connect your phone with debugging enabled, hit install and It'll install all the applications in the list.
Currently, this is just a prototype, but it will eventually get better, and I will add more features. For now, It should work for just a simple batch install.
If you have any problems, just shoot me a PM. Otherwise, I think this should be dead simple to use. If you have any suggestions for what I could add, Post it here.
Oh, and, If you wouldn't mind, Shooting me some donations will ensure you'll get more of this stuff!

New Version coming out April 30th, 2014
I am re-writing the code from scratch. This was a project from a while ago.
Features to be implemented in the next version:
File management
APK installation library
APK removal
APK backup
More Realistic and better progress bar.
Windows 8 and retrograde support.
Mac and Linux support
Yesterday the device manager got installed into my SP. How? I don't know..It's Google's magic. The website is now working but with just a few features, It's not fully functional but at least you can see where your device is and make it ring.
The website is www.google.com/android/devicemanager
To keep it working you MUST enable GPS and Location Reporting, but I had to manually activate the device manager as a device administrator so check in the security menu if it is enabled.
There's a problem with Sony's STAMINA mode: If Google Play Services is not selected in the Always On list DEVICE MANAGER WILL NOT WORK
Thats all Folks!

Now I can have MyXperia, Android Device Manager AND Vodafone Protect to GPS track my device
Go to settings > security > device administrators to allow the manager to lock your device though! I have now learned to read the whole post before posting
I have it on my phone as well, only it doesn't show up on the ADM. My tablet does on the other hand, as does my old ray... Don't know how this is possible. maybe not fully operational.

Hi,
I have succeeded in transforming my RK3229 tv box into an Android TV by following this tutorial: https://forum.freaktab.com/forum/de...onversion-from-stock-android-to-android-tv-os
Summary:
- edit build.prop, add “tv_core_hardware.xml” and “tv_features.xml”
- install Android TV version of Google Play Store & Google Play Services
- install Android TV Launcher
I have also installed Live channel+CosmiDVR for watching IPTV, it is working properly now except one problem: I cannot open a channel by using Google Assistant.
When I say something like "open HBO" or "open channel 1", Google assistant always returns "không thay kenh do" (mean: "couldn't find that channel")
I think that it needs some extra apk files but I don't know which they are.
What do I have to do now ?

UPDATE: now it is running well.
Just install OpenGApps to your TV and everything should be fine.

How to check it "successfull"? or just download app from Google Play without issue?
I'm wondering what Version of Android, Fire OS 7.3.1.5 is built on. I have been installing Android APK on Fire HD 8 Plus, some work, some don't, but I'm hoping maybe choosing apps or backdates to apps that support this particular Android version will be more willing to work. I am trying to keep the Fire Offline so it's also annoying how the Apps I do get from the Kindle store have licenses that must be 'renewed' with internet connection.
PS if anyone knows where to get an Android APK of Tobuscus Adventures Wizards, it would be much help considering that the Mobile app is something I actually Received until it vanashed from all Android and Apple Store listings. #Robbed
