You can see this value:
x DPI: 2.8386712E-6
Y DPI: 4.731187E-6
it looks strange, I also check the i9100 mode, it looks normal.
217.71428
218.49463
Thats a very odd refresh rate too, 68? Is it really 60?
Yeah, me too having same values. I am using Android System Info App. So its not app issue. 2 apps are showing same value. I have no idea what x DPI and y DPI having those values means? What should be ideal values?
And 68 Hz refresh rate is odd. lol

Ok. Lets see what this means:
x DPI: 2.8386712E-6
Y DPI: 4.731187E-6
Its quite funny. Maybe some expert can help out what this means?
Or it may be the case that the apps are not able to read DPI properly? Its saying 240 DPI, and AFAIK I9100 has 217. So its reading is wrong.

actually I think the app read the DPI properly, as other app also get this value.
Unless samusing make the fake data to make us read a incorrect value.
Hello!
My first thread on XDA Developers.
I've been a lurker on these forums for some time having used various custom ROMs and kernels for Windows Mobile, Windows Phone 7 and now Android. I've mostly been a big advocate of Samsung gear until they decided to release the S6 with no storage expansion as this is what I looked for in any phone I upgraded to. This led me to buy the HTC One M9. The community so far has been great with custom ROMS and Kernels with the limited sources provided by HTC so I figured I would give something back to the HTC One M9 community.
Now it has been said that the HTC One M9 screen is not as great as it could be and is in fact a downgrade compared to the M7 and M8. This is mostly due to the fact the screen is calibrated very "cool" (8500k) temperature. With that in mind I just used my X-Rite i1Display Pro to get the white point to D65 (aka 6500k) and succeeded within a few minutes.
The settings I have are for the HTC One M9 UK EE gold/gold edition but I'm sure the settings can be used on other variants from other network providers in other countries too as it will at least get you close to D65 for more accurate colour reproduction on the screen.
I guess I've said a lot so I'll shut up and share the settings with you - please note I've used the colour control aspect of the custom kernels available to make the changes.
Ew that's crazy yellow lol. Try mine
I forgot to mention the rest of the saturation, value, contrast, hue need to be set to their default.
Considering my settings are not working on yours Reubenskelly1992 and yours are VERY blue, even more so than what I had out of the box on my M9, could it be there's a much bigger variation in screen quality?

Maybe we need to compare Serial Num mine begins with FA53HYJ and @skeet94 setting are very close to what i have found works
My blue setting has to be at 230 or it's way too blue
I found this to determine what the serial number means

What Kernel are you guys using?
Where do I find color settings? Or are you guys using any special app?

LeeDroid Kernel >> http://forum.xda-developers.com/one-m9/development/rom-leedroid-one-m9-v7-0-0-rc1-march-t3068468
and the Color Control app > http://downloads.codefi.re/savoca/kcal
Kernel Adiutor in the play store also has these settings
Info: If you boot into Download mode and choose System Info you can find your LCD
Mine is LCD: TDI_RES_69338
I have tried many different settings taken from the forum. But I think the most similar to the setting of M8 (maybe not the preferred for many) is mine, for now. Try it, tell me what you think.
At what brightness do you calibrate the colors at? Does it matter?

LeeDroid added a Brightness patch here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=60639310
It seems to have helped the look of my kcal settings. I turn off auto brightness and set mine too about 55% (2 clicks in the quick setting toggle)
These are my settings I use with ex app. Gives me a little more saturation and darker blacks
flar2 has added the color control for the stock kernel here >> http://forum.xda-developers.com/one-m9/development/mod-color-control-t3104598
you will still need custom recovery and root to use it
ViperOneM9 1.6.0 has added the RGB color control also.
To get everyone up to speed @LeeDroid added this feature about 2 weeks ago and their seem to be 2/3 different set of settings that bring the display up to the M8 standard.

Would you guys mind posting which LCDs each of you have for your recommended settings? I'd imagine these settings only work with specific screens.

On general these should work and it's a guideline so every device may be slightly different but probably just a little bit of tweaking

Hi,
does anyone knows if the display scaling option (like the one that should be shipping by default with any nougat phone) is available on the s8?
I watched some videos digging into the settings and didn't had the chance to confirm it was there, any info?
By the way I'm talking about this feature: http://www.androidcentral.com/fit-more-your-galaxy-s7s-screen-condensed-mode
Best!
I got the phone so I can now answer to myself : YES!
Yes, there are three options: HD, FHD+ and QHD.
Edit: I just now see OP answered his own thread, so my reply is kinda redundant :silly:

In fact I was talking about the screen "content density", not the rendered resolution.
Not sure if I'm clear, so I try to say it this way: the option allowing to display more content on screen is present.

Knowledge on how to run adb commands until there's root.
Any app and resolution should give you the refresh rate you're looking for.

They have been, but on a different device and have worked well,
I have been looking back and forth to aosp how they are managing the refresh rates. to force x fps they use min_refresh_rate & peak_refresh_rate. What i have done here is that i made a custom task when you open an app to set this variables to these values for example peak_refresh_rate value = 120.0, variable min_refresh_rate value = 120.0. Then when you exit the app to set this variables to these values for example peak_refresh_rate value = 60.0 variable min_refresh_rate value = 120.0. These are system variables so you have to make sure that you select system and dont just leave at global

There is but, the only problem that I have been having is that when you exit the app were you want to run it in my case my is 75hz. So let's say I have it set to open x app at 75 it will do it, but it won't reset it back down to 60 so it would just be stuck. So I am not doing any fps that aren't officially supported by the phone and oem.
