Hi, I couldn't find anything useful at the forum so I have a question. Is there any posibility to take off simlock from my galaxy s8? I only know that it's locked from UK provider and I don't know which one.

I am intending to get a used G1 to play around with. I could not find any clue for the SIMlock in the forums or in the Wiki.
My question: can the SIMlock be disabled by myself when updating the software or by other means? What else I should know?
Please note that I am in Austria and therefore only T-Mobile versions are available here.

I bought this model ( SM-G935P ) on ebay and the phone is coming from the USA. Only knowledge i got is that it has bad ESN. That should not be a problem here in the Netherlands so i thought...lets give it a try.
The phone does not recognize any dutch simcards so im pretty sure it has a sim lock. My question is ....can i unlock this model here in the Netherlands? The device does not ask for a unlock code just says "Invalid simcard".
I dont want to spend any money on a local shop with the result that they cant unlock it.
I hope someone can help me out or point me in the right direction!
Ps , forgive me ignorance. Thought all new phones were sim lock free.

Can it be that the phone is on CDMA and thats the reason it cant read my simcard? I also saw something about U firmware?

It needs to be unlock , then put the U firmware on it to open up all your bands , I can do the unlock on it if you root it , pm me

Why don't you get a G935F? It is BL unlocked and sim unlocked. I believe.
