Oneplus 7t pro - xinput gamepad with otg - OnePlus 7T Pro 5G McLaren Questions & Answers

Hi,
I have oneplus 7T pro mclaren edition.
I am trying to connect cosmic byte nebula 2.4ghz wireless gamepad to it but I am not able to connect it with xinput mode. Gamepad works fine with other android devices in xinput mode. In oneplus only Dinput mode works but some games does not support it.
I am using USB c otg adapter to connect 2.4ghz nano reciever to the phone.
Otg is enebaled in the OOS settings.
Tried Logitech mouse with nano receiver with same USB c adapter. It is working fine.
Is it a compatibility issue or OOS does not support xinput peripherals?
Kindly help

Hi, can changing kernel will solve this issue?

wireless keyboard that works in recovery

anyone have a working wireless (not bluetooth) keyboard that works in recovery mode?
i dont mind at all using a wired keyboard on the A500, but having a wireless keyboard that uses the micro usb dongle would be awesome.
but will it work in Recovery Mode?
most dongles are legacy devices so work no matter what, but some will not.
anyone using a mini keyboard with a micro usb dongle and have it working in recovery and no issues in the OS itself?
I would think that'd work fine. I've tested a number of USB keyboards out and all of them were fine. I also just tested my wireless USB mouse and that worked great.

Did the Nougat update kill USB OTG function?

Haven't used my Nexus Player for months. Just updated to Nougat and noticed my Logitech K400 keyboard isn't working. I tried the dongle in my laptop and the keyboard works fine. I'm wondering if Nougat killed the USB OTG function or if my cable has gone bad.
I don't want to have reflash to Marshmellow if I don't have to.
Thanks.
My OTG is working with Nougat. I have a MS keyboard and mouse dongle.
My NP works fine with Nougat with a Logitech K700 keyboard (from a Revue) + Unifying USB dongle.
The only way my galaxy t810 recognized the USB stick is when I change the USB configuration of tablet to rndis (USB ethernet). Don't know why! But only for pendrives, still doesn't work for my HD (even with root and with paragon or any other app).

Joystick not working

Hi brothers,
Zenfone max pro m1 does not recognise the joystick controller which works with other mobiles. Tried changing the OTG cable yet not working.
Anyone have overcome this issue? Any fix?
Joystick? Do you mean gamepad controller?
I use this Bluetooth gamepad controller and it works for me. Even the wired mouse and wired keyboard connects to my Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1.
I also tried using wired Xbox controller and doesn't work
So, better have to choose bluetooth instead of wired. Thanks stonespider
I have same problem
Wired gamepad doesn't get recognized as a peripheral device on the mobile. It won't work.
The gamepad can be connected via Bluetooth and will work 100% on the games that support controllers.

Unable to use wired gamepad!

My Zenfone max pro m1 recognises USB drives like thumb drives and a 1TB HDD no problem and also my wireless keyboard mouse combo but it just doesn't seem to recognise my generic wired gamepad, no power when I press the analog switch no red led. I was planning to try out PUBG mobile using gamepad through the Octopus app, unfortunately to my surprise it was not able to detect my device, on the other hand it easily detected my mouse and keyboard and I was able to use them to play PUBG. However it's not about PUBG it's more about me now not being able to use my gamepad for PPSSPP ?

I could be due to many reasons.
Firstly tell me this does your mobile detect the wired gamepad as a peripheral device connection?
Check in settings > connected devices.
If not, then test out if a wired keyboard gets connected to you mobile. If the keyboard does get connected and your wired gamepad doesn't, it means your wired gamepad isn't compatible.
Keep in mind this troubleshooting is between your mobile and peripheral devices..
Octopus app connection comes later.

No my device simply DOES NOT detect my wired gamepad. It detects my keyboard and mouse no problem, also much power hogging 1TB HDD but I'm having no luck with my gamepad. The gamepad works fine with other phones and my laptop.

That is what I'm telling you my brother, mobile not detecting wired gamepad alone. But the rest works well.
Wired controller not working in zenfone mpm1
I have gamesir g3w wired controller, it works just fine in my zenfone 3 lazer, but not in my MPM1. Therfore i conclude that Zenfone max pro m1 doesnt support wired controller. Please include fixing this in your nxt update. there are lots of advantage in using wired controller, thats why some user choosing it..
Same ISSUE
I am also facing same issue bro
Wired Mouse and Pendrive trough USB OTG gets detected thought it prompts for reverse charging alert
Same alert is shown while connecting my Game-Pad but it does not show any response and not detected in Octopus app too.
Kindly Requesting Asus to fix this issue ASAP

Which Ethernet Adapter works with Mi A1

I want to use the phone with a lan cable. I have tried a ugreen usb-c rj-49 adapter but it didn't work (apparently it has otg).
Is there an underlying issue with A1 or should I try another adapter?
I'm using a tp-link ue330 adapter. Phone recognizes ethernet, and other connected usb devices. For this I need an type-a -type c otg adapter too.
edit: not sure about stock rom, but on los since beginning it was working for me.
