H1711 has me by the balls. - Huawei Ascend XT Questions & Answers

Alright, I'll try to be brief.
I've had my H1711 for a couple of years. Used it for AT&T prepaid. I replaced it with a Samsung about a year ago, so it's just been collecting dust. I recently decided I wanted to try rooting it, Huawei be damned, so I used DC Unlocker and got it rooted using the latest TWRP and Magisk. Root went smoothly. Long story short, I messed up and had to put it back to the stock firmware. However, this left it with a bootloader screen saying Phone: unlocked, FRP: Lock. However, I do not get stopped at verification. I can use the phone just fine as a normal smartphone. But, I'm completely unable to flash or boot anything, and I've been trying for days to clear the FRP lock, to no avail whatsoever. I've searched the XDA forums to exhaustion, tried everything I could find, and nothing works. I cannot clear this damn FRP lock. Does anyone know of a way to get rid of that damn lock, or should I shift my focus to something less frustrating? I'm at my wits end. Please let me know if you have any ideas. I'm gonna consider my other options. Thanks.

does the universal method for clearing frp not working?

Im having the same issue :/

Network unlock message on start

Hi all,
I have been searching and trying to mend this before posting here but have come to a dead end so need some more advice if possible.
My sister has the S2 and one day it just stopped receiving signal, she restarted the phone and it was asking for the network unlock pin! She got sent some new sims to try and none worked. She had googled around and see that people had success with rooting the device.
I tried this and got the unlock code from chainfire app and tried that but it didn't work. I thought I had unrooted it successfully but it appears not because when she sent it off it came back as warranty was void.
So far I have tried chainfire app to get the unlock, tried the other S2 unlock along with the GII_Repair app from market. None seemed to have worked and I was getting prompts. I flashed clockwork and then CyanogenMod nightly hoping that the factory reset and the modem driver change or something might get it working, but nothing has worked.
Does anyone else have any ideas of any possible next steps I can try?
Thank you
Rich

I've also ran into this issue. As you've tried, I've also tried reflashing the factory firmware via Odin, and rerooting it. Sometimes I could get signal, and the baseband is fine and sometimes the baseband is unknown. Coming back from the screen lock, the phone will have no signal.
I've tried everything from every forum on the web and still couldn't fine a solution. I've done a different SIM card as well and things still don't work. Also flashed multiple modems and still, connections just wasn't stable.
Afterwards, I gave up and exchanged it for a new one. Hopefully you can restore factory firmware and exchange the unit as I don't think anyone has solved this issue yet. Good luck and hopefully you find a way to fix this issue.
If you want to restore the factory firmware, you'll have to do a little searching on the web here, and look for factory firmware and flash it using Odin from either your computer or using the odin app.

Galaxy On5 sm-s550t stuck at frp

So I've searched around the past few hours and can't seem to find a solution to my issue. I have a friend that is currently down on his luck and staying at a homeless shelter, he bought this phone because phones are pretty much a necessity nowadays, samsung galaxy on5, trouble is that the phone was locked when he turned it on so he was stuck with a paperweight, it's been a long time since I tinkered with phones but I figured I could help him out by booting into recovery and doing a factory reset. I had no idea about samsung factory reset protection and now were back to paperweight mode. I downloaded jodin3 and heimdall, but it never shows as connected. Can I root the phone while in recovery or load the factory rom so I can get the phone working again? Thanks for any help.
No, the only options are either ordering a remote unlocking service or find a guide on YouTube. The YouTube way will involve some patience and trial and error. Many guides don't specify what update on the phone they are working on and/or will state that their particular method works for EVERY phone. The stock recovery will tell you what update that it is on by the build number. This might help pinpoint which method to work.
FRP = Google Factory Reset Protection
Samsung Reactivation Lock is a different beast.
Which one does the phone have?

Bypass Google account

Hey there guys hope you all are doing great, so basically my aunt had some problem with her mobile data, someone suggested her to hard reset the device so she youtubed it and successfully hard reset her device but UNFORTUNATELY, she doesn't remember the last email and the password she logged in the device with.
Could anyone of you please tell me how to sort it out so i can get some peace [emoji37]
She just cant stop asking me if it got fixed or not.

Search on Youtube, it worked for me !
I had this issue as well. I bought a used phone but it was FRP protected. The only way ourmt was calling up the guy and asking him to log in. FRP is present in place to prevent misuse. And while various YouTube videos will show you bypassing it, Samsung has been repeatedly patching it.
From what I can understand, a sure shot way would be to install a different ROM on it. However with no custom recovery, maybe that's a wee bit more difficult. You could try to use Odin to re-flash a stock ROM. Let us know if this works.

Magisk Error

Hello, this is my first post on here, but I have always been such a big fan of all the work that you guys do. I mean, this is just a phenomenal resource. I have recently rooted my Samsung Galaxy S8 (SM-G950U) through the PartCyborgRom method, and it actually went very well with me. I got into a bit of a problem when my root was easily recognized and I couldn't do things, like get into my Snapchat. I saw everyone ranting and raving about how Magisk had a built in feature to hide the root from apps. I then download the Magisk apk and it prompts me to flash it on my phone. If it meant I could keep my streak going with my girlfriend, I figured "Why the Hell not?" So I try to flash it, and it doesn't work the first time. The second time, it goes right through with no problem. When I got the option to reboot, I took it, and instead of getting a new bootloader, I am prompted with the message from Samsung that says "Security Error: This phone has been flashed with unauthorized software & is locked. Call your mobile operator for additional support. Please note that repair/return for this issue may have additional cost." Now I'm left with what appears to be some soft bricked phone. I have tried flashing the stock firmware, even on Comsy, but all to no avail. I am just trying to figure out how to get this phone back in operation, since I am in the military and it is paramount that I am able to communicate with my Marines again.

Okay, so here is the update: I went to the Sprint store, and they can't do ****. I went to every resource I could find, and they all give me the same advice. Get Samsung to fix it. I really don't want to concede defeat though, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
By the sounds of it it is a soft brick been in a simular situation have you tried putting it into download mode and reflashed the first ever firmware that came with it

I did. I'm not sure what they did, but I took it to Cell Phone Repair (so if they mess it up further, they pay for it), and they fixed it. They put it on T-Mobile's network though, and so I am dealing with that now.

You should take it back to them and explain that they have locked it to T-mobile and they shpuld unlock it for free

Already been having it worked on. For some reason, they are having trouble with it.

got screwed!

I was wondering if anybody could help me out! My brother bought an LG G6 from somebody. The phone is legit but had a pattern lock. I was stupid and suggested going into recovery and data resetting it. Completely forgetting about FRP lock. now we can't get ahold of the guy that we bought it from. Is there any way to reflash the firmware or by any other means to get past this FRP lock because I really feel like it's my fault for resetting the phone
Hey did you get it back up and running? If not PM me.
The rather complicated video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BkEDk4xzl4I does work to remove FRP.
