Hi guys,
i just bought my new OP8Pro and after moving from OP3T to the OP8Pro i like to install and register my Banking Apps (from DKB). The problem starts, when i like to use the TAN generator (TAN2Go). It refused to work and gave me the hint, that i won't work with a screenreader onboard (i.e. Goolge Talkback). When i looked, i found the culprit (Talkback) and deactivated it. But this changed nothing. So i looked if i could completely uninstall this app or service, but i wasn't able!
Now the only way as far as i can see is, to root my mobile, install Titanium to freeze this service/app and have another problem with this app (Tan2Go), which won't work on rooted phones... On my old phone there was a solution by using island, but i thought, the solution fr my OP8Pro must be easier...
So the question is, if anyone of you found a solution, to work with a banking app, which won't work, if a screenreader is installed or if anyone con tell me, how i can uninstall Goolge Talkback, without rooting.....
I would be appreciated, if there is help for me...
Regards
Clark

I use google voice. Metrotalk's shutting down then, but I was wondering how one would go about saving a backup of this app to use after it is removed from the market.
Anyone?
I'd like to know this too. The xap is still available to download from the store, but the app is no longer published. I've been searching trying to find a way to install apps that are no longer published, but to no avail. Any help would be much appreciated. I HAVE PURCHASED THIS APP, but just got a new phone and still want to use it. Help?
Hey guys and girls, you know there are some apps that will not work with Rooted Phones.
Iam from Germany and want to start a TV Receiver app "https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.telekom.entertaintv.smartphone"
It says "not wokring on rooted phones"
I have test RootCloak (with and without Xposed) and some Root Hide apps. Nothing work.
Other people have same problems with other apps like banking apps.
Anybody here you have ideas what we can do. I think there are many people they need help.
When you are rooting your phone, you are breaking the android security model.
There is a pretty good reason these apps do not work on a rooted phones. There is a way around that, but you have to google it.
I don't think people understand what they are doing to their phones when they root them.. but everybody has their own opinion and I don't expect (neither want or care) to change it.
how about next time posting this is the Q&A Thread !!! it's not your first post so you should know by know this definitely the wrong place for your questions...
There are nicer ways to come across when pointing that out. Just sayin...
Buy another new phone then, that should be work

Not sure if this will help you, but I had the exact same problmen with "google play movies" when I tried to stream a movie it would display an error message and streaming stopped. (this has been an issue since I rooted my old S4)
Try deleting (with root browser or ES explorer) "liboemcrypto.so" file under /system/vendor/lib , then reboot and thry your app again, this worked for me.
Don't forget to hit thanks if this was helpful, cheers!
That's not working but thanks.
Looks like no more market for pre-NGP devices.

Thanks for posting this. I wondered when the final axe would fall. Well, it's simpler if GApps are not installed anyway and it was getting more and more temperamental. All the more reason for people to share packages of apps that they are using which work well on the device so we can side-load them. They can't take that away!
Does anyone know if this will affect the license check-in for paid apps? :/
Wondering about Titanium Backup Pro especially, it seems to check in on almost every boot. It would suck if we couldn't use it on the Nook Touch anymore, even though there are some clumsy alternatives.
Oops! Tried installing the 1337 ROM from 9th April 2015... No support for Android Market makes the rom unusable
Definitely backup your entire device + your original recovery before installing clockworkmod or 1337 ROM
I will now rever to stock and probably use Nook Manager to root the stock ROM.
Such a shame, I was super excited ot try out what seemed to be the best NST ROM out there
If it wasn't for ending the support for google apps, it might have been a great improvement, oh well...
Anyone with similar experience?

July 2 and I can still use SearchMarket and install market apps....wonder if working installations are going to continue hobbling along?
Seems like it's gone for me. The market search function at least. The gmail app still works though.
How would you go about unlinking the NST from a google account all together?
It's not registered in the google device manager online, so I can't unlink it there.
I'm worried that things will start to wrong now when the framework is not supported anymore.

I'm surprised your gmail works. I could never keep mine going. It would retrieve mail OK but would only send for a few days and then have to be reinstalled to work for a few more days.
The only concern I have is GoogleBooks, but so far it's OK. I'm not sure you need Market access to sync mail or books, but down the line these older applications may be rejected as security concerns. Time will tell.
So far I see no sign of weirdness.
Edit: OK, today (July 4) my NST is officially independent of the Market. No server contact. However, Google Books still works at this point. I'm not sure you should do anything. You could uninstall SearchMarket but that's about it. After all, lots of people are signed into Google on various devices to get mail but do not access the PlayStore. Famous last words
I have disabled both MarketUpdater.apk and Vending.apk (found in /system/app) by renaming them as *.OLD. After a reboot I have seen no problems running the few apps I had actually obtained from the PlayStore or those I side-loaded. Note I do not have any for-pay apps.
It may be possible to also disable Talk.apk and any adjuncts as this is used to interface with the Market, but I'm not there yet. A good goal would be to quiet down any behind-the-scenes activity by apps that can't connect any longer but keep trying to phone home just to be sure. At the same time I'm trying to maintain sync capability so that, for example, Google Books will continue to work for as long as possible. This, it seems to me, is the only remaining reason to bother with the GApps package at all since Google Sync is enabled with it.
Hello everyone. A few days ago i took my phone wich was lying around in the dust (x10 mini pro). Happily switched on, connected to internet and hit on market, just to realize this happened.
So, is there some market for 2.1-update? I was thinking about F-droid, but, how about this?

Thanks bro. I will try it soon :fingers-crossed:
Hi Xda !
I will receive my op6t on tuesday.
I already like the phone for his specs, and the os seems to be near to a pure os (light and fast).
The only thing is irritating me is all the apps you can't uninstall as the google suit (duo, chrome, youtube and so on).
What is the best solution to remove or completly disable those apps ? (i mean uninstall or at least disable apps icon/hidde it from the app list)
If root is the only one solution which method is the most simple one ? and the less risky from brick ?
Last one, after doing this am i able to do roms updates from official source without any problem ?
I'm under linux (debian) or can have a mac but no windows
Thanks for your time and answers.
You can simply disable the apps with no problem (no root required), and you will still receive updates.

I used to have an honor 9 where you were not able to disable some apps like chrome
You can disable but not uninstall without root.

Thank you fo your answer.
Does apps keep access to data, contacts, GPS... whatever they are allowed to do after being disabled ?

You should be able to disable most apps without any issue. I've disabled Google Play Music, Movies and Gmail without any problems.
I think disabling is not only safer than uninstalling, but easier as as well!
Hi all!
I'm writing here to see if someone has any idea, it seems I'm not able to understand the reason.
I setup Google Pay on my OnePlus 5 and it was working perfectly, up until some days ago. Now when I put the phone close to the POS, nothing happens, even if I open the Google Pay app before placing the phone near the terminal.
I performed a factory reset of the phone, after that, Google Pay started working again, but then, after a few hours, it just stopped with the same exact behavior, meanwhile I had restored the backup of most of my apps.
I again performed a factory reset, Google Pay started working properly, then slowly started re-installing and re-configuring my apps, constantly testing if Google Pay was working (luckily I found out how to "test" if Google Pay is working without having to buy something*), everything was working properly, but then, apparently without reason, Google Pay stopped working again in the exact same way.
I pinpointed the problem down to Google Pay and not generically to NFC, because Android Beam and other NFC apps are working perfectly. I also tried an app from Visa that emulates a credit card for test purposes (Visa Mobile CDET), this app replaces Google Pay as Tap&Pay provider and when I test the NFC payment with that app set as default, it works, the test card is sent over to the receiving terminal. As soon as I change the default Tap&Pay to Google Pay, nothing happens anymore.
Some additional info: my OnePlus 5 has never been rooted, it is up to date with the latest firmware (OxygenOS 9.0.6). Google Pay is version: 2.90.250604638
Is anyone experiencing the same issue?
thanks a lot!

spot on! thanks!
I never thought about Play Services, but that's the issue indeed.
The version I had installed was:
17.4.55 (100400-248795830)
May 21, 2019
arm64-v8a + armeabi-v7a
Android 9.0+

I reverted to the previous one I found on apkmirror:
17.1.94 (100400-248977010)

and now Google Pay is working again.
I guess this means there was a bug introduced on the latest version or something like that, it's difficult to say without a changelog
At least this explains the random behavior, Play Services libraries are probably updated in background automatically.
thanks for the hint! Now I have to make sure Play Services libraries won't update automatically and I probably need to monitor new releases as I don't want to stick with an old version forever.
Opened a ticket on the google issue tracker: https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/135132389 please "star" it and add your comments, we need to understand if this is just a OnePlus issue.
Opened a ticket on OnePlus forum: https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/...-5-after-google-play-services-update.1053102/
Possible workaround, however not very straightforward and comfortable, but could be useful to troubleshoot:
- Install Visa Mobile CDET app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.visa.app.cdet&hl=en
- set it as default Tap&Pay app
- as "Use default" option, select "Except when another payment app is open"
- open Google Pay app and keep it in foreground
- pay with Google Pay

From what I understand, it emulates different types/technologies of contactless cards, so merchants can be sure their POSs are compatible with that type/technology of cards.
It should be "safe".
I tried the workaround, and I can confirm it works.
Now we just have to organize a meeting in Bologna, the issue seems to be here

Exactly, the app itself is not useful to us, but it lets you change Tap&Pay default to another app that is not Google Pay and this seems to be unlocking Google Pay for some reason.
I'm really starting to think that the issue is only in Bologna

Which Google Play Services and Google Pay version? Thanks
Hello everyone. Finally I found someone else with this problem! Since may/june 2019 I'm having this strange issue of Google Pay not working anymore. I've been in contact with Google and OnePlus, they reflashed OxygenOS but nothing solved the problem. Google Play Services is now updated to the version 19.4.20, but Google Pay and other NFC apps still don't work. The strange thing is that some NFC apps work properly, other do not work at all... Just like Google Pay. In the meantime, did someone found a stable solution? Thank you all.
Hello Frank!
the only workaround is the one described above, unfortunately, no solution is offered, but it seems it's some kind of compatibility issue with other nfc apps.
for example, andreacos92 realized that after a factory reset, Google pay works properly, but the moment he installed Muver (an Italian nfc app to use mobile bus tickets) and after the first reboot, Google pay stops working, even uninstall ing Muver will leave Google pay broken, the only solution is another factory reset.
any chance you're also using that app? Or perhaps another one using nfc?
