Some App not working with Rooted Phones. Ideas? - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

Hey guys and girls, you know there are some apps that will not work with Rooted Phones.
Iam from Germany and want to start a TV Receiver app "https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.telekom.entertaintv.smartphone"
It says "not wokring on rooted phones"
I have test RootCloak (with and without Xposed) and some Root Hide apps. Nothing work.
Other people have same problems with other apps like banking apps.
Anybody here you have ideas what we can do. I think there are many people they need help.

When you are rooting your phone, you are breaking the android security model.
There is a pretty good reason these apps do not work on a rooted phones. There is a way around that, but you have to google it.
I don't think people understand what they are doing to their phones when they root them.. but everybody has their own opinion and I don't expect (neither want or care) to change it.

how about next time posting this is the Q&A Thread !!! it's not your first post so you should know by know this definitely the wrong place for your questions...

There are nicer ways to come across when pointing that out. Just sayin...

Buy another new phone then, that should be work

Not sure if this will help you, but I had the exact same problmen with "google play movies" when I tried to stream a movie it would display an error message and streaming stopped. (this has been an issue since I rooted my old S4)
Try deleting (with root browser or ES explorer) "liboemcrypto.so" file under /system/vendor/lib , then reboot and thry your app again, this worked for me.
Don't forget to hit thanks if this was helpful, cheers!

That's not working but thanks.

Market: Paid Apps not showing? Possible fix?

Alright, im not sure if this was already discovered or brought up before but here it goes..
Every time I would flash a new rom, my top paid app tab on the market would not show up. So I left the alone overnight and the next morning, still no Top Paid Apps. My girlfriend told me that it happend to her before, and all she did was start installing free apps like a mad man. At first I said, GTFOH!! Thats not gonna work!... eventually I went and tried it. I installed around 6 free apps, backed out completely out of the market, relaunched it and Top Paid apps appeared!
Just tried this. Didn't work for me. I have no idea why it stopped working properly for me. I noticed that paid apps are in there if you do a search, but it just doesn't show that tab. I think its some kind of market glitch, but I can't seem to clear it.
im having the same issues. Cant find any help
Had the same problem with Paid apps not showing up and Market stuck on "Installing". Used the instructions on post #29 that used Root Explorer. Worked for me. forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=716100&page=3
market fixed
thanks for the find man, now the market is as snappy as ever
THANKS

Nope... doesnt seem to work on the Droid. Tried the XML approach via RE and still a no go.
Not upset though... as with all rooting of devices, I know the risks!

[Q] How to enable Android Market?

Dear all,
I've recently acquired the Galaxy Tab from UAE/Dubai. It doesn't have the Android Market which is really disappointing.
Does anyone know how to enable it? Like in the Galaxy S? (dial a number?)
I don't want to flash. It's too new to mess up
Thanks
Market enabler
Thanks. But it doesn't . When I choose "fake this provider", it says there is a problem.
Also from what I read, that is meant to allow paid apps. The problem is that the Android Market app is missing completely. Only SlideMe market is there.
hi,
maybe you can use this market app from this thread.
dont know if it will work though.
regards,
mike
Did you get it on Etisalat or operator free? Do you know where I can get it in Dubai not with operator contract? Thanks.
http://www.wipconnector.com/appstores lists all alternative market places by platform
Try MarketAccess from the andappstore
EDIT: Just done some reading and apparently vending.apk and market updater.apk cannot be pushed the normal way - you will have to install them via an update.zip.
hi,
the device was available last week during the gitex period in Dubai at around 3200 AED
maybe it's still available here, last time i checked at eros digital, its same price.
regards,
mike
Thanks, I was in last day of Gitexshopper, but none left, only in Etisalat booth with contract :-(.
Better luck next tinme, i'll wait
Cheers.
I was able to get it from Eros Mirdif. Reserved one by giving a down payment a while back.
It's a really nice tablet. Such a shame though. The market being missing and all. I was hoping the Galaxy S command would work, since they're almost identical. Sigh
Galaxy Tab
Got mine during GITEX, found it at Carrefour. Everyone else was out of stock on the very first day of launch.
No Android Market is very frustrating, lots of alternatives available. I am trying lots of different tricks to try and get market working. Will keep you guys posted
Please stick to the topic. Try this:
Install a file manager like.Estrongs or Astro from here: http://www.freewarelovers.com/android/app/estrongs-file-explorer
transfer it with bluetooth or USB to your phone and install.
After installing the FIle manager.
1. Go to internal memory root
2. navigate to /system/app
3. Locate Vending.apk
4. push on it to install it
It may force close the first time you run it but the second time it should work
If you still encounter Force Close or download issues. Do the following ( you might want to do it anyway as it is sometimes better to start with a clean slate)
1. Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications
2. Chose All
3. Find Market
4. Push on it and select Clear data
from droidforums
Ok. When I run Vending.apk, it says unable to parse package.
I cannot find "Market" in all Applications.
get the apk from one of the above posts and use that.

I think you have managed to install it just fine. There are LOADS of Market problems at the moment. A HUGE number of people can't download anything from the market (nor update old apps) and those same people managed just fine weeks ago.
I spend one hour on my wife's Desire yesterday trying to install Astro. It would just error with "Download unsuccessful" or "Download paused" or something like that. Then I just hit "Cancel Download" and try again. Eventually it usually works, but I had to try MANY, MANY times.
So, I think you're ok, you're just experiencing the same probs everybody else has now
(There's a multi-page thread of it in google help forums and apparently they know about it. beats me if they're willing to DO anything about it though.)
Pissed me off to no end when I finally introduced my brother to the Android side of things and Market wouldn't work at all! He has a HTC Hero that previously had had NO problems with Market...
tl;dr: Yes, it's probably installed ok. No, Market doesn't work for the rest of us either :/

lol. Nice to know. Pity about the Market though. For the time being, I just browse appbrain for apps. Then try my luck googling the .apks. Torrented some app bundles also. But all that is just too tiresome. I hope Google or Samsung does something about it.
I just bought mine from the Eros Group in Abu Dhabi. I'm pretty letdown that they're selling this expensive product without letting you know that one of its main features is disabled.
I am with you kristenm. It's ridiculous. I am surviving using torrents, google and applanet to get apps, but its such a pain cause there are still apps i cant find without the market. And even after i finally got the market app installed. It fails on all downloads.
Its such a nice tablet. But samsung is not doing this right. Each shop has like a piece or 2, no accessories and little to no marketing.

New Android Market Website

So it's finally out. What do you guys think? Is this the end of Appbrain? I loved appbrain cause I can browse the apps on the website and then just click install from there and it will automatically install on the phone. Now this can do it too!
The biggest upside to this? You can install (after you pay) "in-app" purchase app from the website. e.g. you can install the NBA League Pass from the website directly. Any other features I missed?
This is from Google themselves, not me.
https://market.android.com/
Cool. I like it.
I never really got into appbrain, because it still involved that extra step of opening the application itself.. and blah.. I think, I can't even remember. It just seemed tedious at the time to go onto the computer when it was quicker on my phone.
Then when Google does it, I'm all over it. I have been installing random applications just to install them. Why is this so awesome?!
I played with it for a while now and everything seems to be working well. I guess I can save some space by uninstalling appbrain and use this instead.
sweet jesus!
I'm like'n it...good stuff!
The automatic OTA install is working to my N1 and my Galaxy Tab now, it wasn't earlier this morning.
Works well!
With this new website comes another big change that will happen in the 3rd quarter of this year: NO MORE "LITE" version apps.

That's actually a good thing. You download the "free" application, and then if you decide to unlock it you buy the key from within the app rather than a separate unlocker application, or having the market cluttered with 2 separate versions.
Sounds like a plan!
The in-app purchasing as a general concept I'm not a massive fan off as it has the potential to lead to nickle & diming, primarily for games, but if used responsibly it should be good.
Wow, about time. Glad to see it's finally here.
now all they need to do is let you backup your app data. I dont want to lose my angry birds scores everytime i switch roms and forget to back it up with titamium backup
Well, I don't suppose there's a way for Market Enabler to work on the website?
It lists paid apps from all over the world, but it knows your phone's carrier and will prevent installs if your country does not support it..
I guess it's back to Market Enabler on the phone.
Anyone else having trouble actually buying apps from the website? Installing free apps works like a charm, but trying to purchase and install paid apps doesn't work. I press continue and _nothing_ happens.
running CM7 nightlies and the OTA installs are not working...
According to the website, you need to be logged into GTalk, only my GTalk won't log in. GTalk also appears to be missing from the market, so the problem may be on their end...

Doesn't work for me, it's been years and Android Market still doesn't support Google Apps accounts for Checkout. Although I can login, no devices are listed under "my devices" on market.android.com
I'm running CM7 Nightlies as well, I'm a few behind though, and I'm always logged into GTalk and the OTA's are not working for me either.
It's not working here on MM v.20. I've tried installing several apps but nothing happens on the phone end, the GTalk solution they give also doesn't help. Weird thing is they all show up on my app list as completed when none of them have actually installed.

I'm having the same issue. I'm running CM6.1 kangorama's version and the install says it has worked on the website, but nothing changes on the phone itself.
I'm wondering if it has to do with it being a rooted device without a stock rom?

I'm betting that someone is going to have to create a Web App Store Enabler or something along those lines for this to work on rooted phones or phones without stock ROM's.

Running stock rom.
Tried installing the older version of flash because i read that should work..no it doesnt.

It's just a personal preference because its easier to install all apps when I have them all in one folder, rather then always searching for them on the play store.
Got used to it because I had my phone a lot of time on service, and it was frustrating to always install everything again and again.

The ones that aren't installing are paid for apps bud, how'd you get them then? Too coincidental that the paid apps won't install, but the free ones will...
If you paid for them from the Play Store, you can hit the little magnifying glass and type in the first 3-4 letters, and it'll find the app right away, takes seconds to do. You can also log into your Google account and search/install that way.
If you got these apps without paying for them, you won't find help here for that.

I dont wanna search for all of them. Because I don't have a list in my head for which apps do I use.
I asked for help. I BOUGHT The tab. I bought most of the apps. Yes not all of them. What else do you want?
I didn't get any help, just atacks on WHY did I do it this way and not the other way. My grandma doesn't use the walking sticks even if her life would be better with them. It's a personal preference It doesn't matter why she wont use the sticks even if I cut off her legs.
If I'll ask what are those 4 gold dots on the side of the tab, I wanna know what. Not explain to you why would I use them and why not!
Now please, can we get to the point of the question?

Wow, so you don't want to just TRY going to the Play Store to install one of these paid for apps to see (called troubleshooting) if it'll install? Google keeps a list of everything you installed, Settings - My Apps - swipe over to All, there's your list.
I know you bought the tablet, no one questioned that. You are asking how to install an app that you have to pay for but you got it via another means (pirated app), and it won't install...again, you won't find help for that here. You're getting asked questions which helps with trying to figure out the root of the problem, and your grandma reference is just disturbing and irrelevant.
Paid for apps don't get installed in /system like system apps are, so the question is relevant.
So here's your answer: Go to the Play Store, search for ONE of the paid apps you are having trouble installing, and TRY installing it from there. Oh yeah, and in Android 4.2 there is more built in security for pirated app detection, so like I've said before, if they are apps that cost money and you didn't purchase each of those apps, you won't be able to install them.

Furthermore, have you enabled "Unknown Sources" in Settings to sideload apps like you are trying to do? If not, that could be your problem as well. It could also be the the version of the apps you are trying to sideload are old and aren't supported in Android 4.x, hence the suggestion to try installing from the Play Store.
With Android 4.2 sideloaded apps are scanned, please review: this. It gives you information about what you are trying to do, and the "why" aspect of it.
So before you fly off the handle again with odd no-legged grandma references, try the above mention suggestions to see what happens. Are you rooted, or is your N7 stock?

Well U might be right about the apps being not 4.2 supported. Because some of them are old.
I'm not rooted, just stock.
Some apps are not compatible with certain devices.
It doesn't matter whether a user paid for them or not. They paid for the app. and it installed on the device they had at the time, and it worked. Nowhere is it written, that a dev has to support any devices a person buys in the future.
The app dev's, have no obligation to program the app to work on everybody;s devices, regardless whether you paid for it or not. This is the nature of programming development.
Nowhere is it said that if you buy a new device, the app you purchased last year is compatible. If somebody can prove me wrong, please tell me.
Yes, you may be able to sideload the app. Another way is to make a build.prop edit to make it compatible. This is OK, and you are welcome to do so.
What is not acceptable, is to ask for paid apk's or discuss anything related to software piracy. This is against XDA rules, and also, against the law in most countries.

Thanks for posting this. I wondered when the final axe would fall. Well, it's simpler if GApps are not installed anyway and it was getting more and more temperamental. All the more reason for people to share packages of apps that they are using which work well on the device so we can side-load them. They can't take that away!
Does anyone know if this will affect the license check-in for paid apps? :/
Wondering about Titanium Backup Pro especially, it seems to check in on almost every boot. It would suck if we couldn't use it on the Nook Touch anymore, even though there are some clumsy alternatives.
Oops! Tried installing the 1337 ROM from 9th April 2015... No support for Android Market makes the rom unusable
Definitely backup your entire device + your original recovery before installing clockworkmod or 1337 ROM
I will now rever to stock and probably use Nook Manager to root the stock ROM.
Such a shame, I was super excited ot try out what seemed to be the best NST ROM out there
If it wasn't for ending the support for google apps, it might have been a great improvement, oh well...
Anyone with similar experience?

July 2 and I can still use SearchMarket and install market apps....wonder if working installations are going to continue hobbling along?
Seems like it's gone for me. The market search function at least. The gmail app still works though.
How would you go about unlinking the NST from a google account all together?
It's not registered in the google device manager online, so I can't unlink it there.
I'm worried that things will start to wrong now when the framework is not supported anymore.

I'm surprised your gmail works. I could never keep mine going. It would retrieve mail OK but would only send for a few days and then have to be reinstalled to work for a few more days.
The only concern I have is GoogleBooks, but so far it's OK. I'm not sure you need Market access to sync mail or books, but down the line these older applications may be rejected as security concerns. Time will tell.
So far I see no sign of weirdness.
Edit: OK, today (July 4) my NST is officially independent of the Market. No server contact. However, Google Books still works at this point. I'm not sure you should do anything. You could uninstall SearchMarket but that's about it. After all, lots of people are signed into Google on various devices to get mail but do not access the PlayStore. Famous last words
I have disabled both MarketUpdater.apk and Vending.apk (found in /system/app) by renaming them as *.OLD. After a reboot I have seen no problems running the few apps I had actually obtained from the PlayStore or those I side-loaded. Note I do not have any for-pay apps.
It may be possible to also disable Talk.apk and any adjuncts as this is used to interface with the Market, but I'm not there yet. A good goal would be to quiet down any behind-the-scenes activity by apps that can't connect any longer but keep trying to phone home just to be sure. At the same time I'm trying to maintain sync capability so that, for example, Google Books will continue to work for as long as possible. This, it seems to me, is the only remaining reason to bother with the GApps package at all since Google Sync is enabled with it.
Hello everyone. A few days ago i took my phone wich was lying around in the dust (x10 mini pro). Happily switched on, connected to internet and hit on market, just to realize this happened.
So, is there some market for 2.1-update? I was thinking about F-droid, but, how about this?
PD: sorry for my english

So, is there some market for 2.1-update? I was thinking about F-droid, but, how about this?
PD: sorry for my english
