Unknown devices MCU and bluetooth problem - Android Head-Units

Hello everyone, first a greeting

1) bluetooth connects me ONLY to apple android phones but to no ODBII devices, I have tried 2 without success.
From here they go into settings I can't understand which car radio model is mine, Android 10 MCU STx, 8-inch display I try to attach some photos, if someone can help me with bluetooth or even flash the rom.
Thank you in advance.

Thinking about buying a HuiFei MCU-MX unit - can someone answer a few ?easy queries

Hi guys,
I am quite new to the whole world of Android head-units. I've found a unit that fits my car and before I buy it I was just wondering if you guys could help me out a bit.
The unit is: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Android-4...RE-/281909711323?_trksid=p2141725.m3641.l6368
It states that it is a RK3088 unit, although it must be RK3166 if it's quad-core, right?
https://youtu.be/DK4O1XGn0nM?t=3m13s - looking at the description it seems it's a HuiFei type MCU MX.
I note that the XDA repository doesn't include firmware updates for this MCU - does this mean that I won't ever be able to update the firmware? Would the custom ones (Masaryk?) work on this MCU?
I've also read that the microphone is pants, which is why every seller is including some-kind of an external one, in this case a bluetooth one. How does a microphone like that get powered? Is it a difficult to get power to it when installing?
My apologies if this is the wrong forum.

Recommendations please

I know this has been asked a thousand times before but there doesn't seem to be many answers to it. I even checked the aoggested posts that come up when I typed this post. What would be a good double din android head unit to start with please? Are there preferred units for installing custom roms? I used to have an android tablet set up as my car stereo, literally with stereo line out, but that was a bit clunky so looking at a dedicated unit. I already have a reverse camera wired up so would ditch the screen and use the head unit. If no one has any suggestions are there any review sites for these. I did have a look but as they seem to be unbranded not a lot comes up. Thanks for any help.
No help
Due to the overwhelming help, response and support from this community I've managed to buy a head unit. ****ed if I know of its any good or not but I'll find out when it comes.

Rooting a Pioneer AVIC head device and replacing the OS

Hello people
Last year (2019) I purchased a Pioneer AVIC-Z710DAB head unit for my car. After realizing that the maps on the GPS are very old and awfully expensive to update, I really want to root the device and install an Android- or Linux based custom rom. Obviously I do not want to install a custom rom that does not provide equal functionality to the Pioneer system, but I don't want to keep the Pioneer system any longer as the GPS functionality is useless with old maps and the also old available updated maps are $150. I realize that the rooting and installation of a new system will require some time / work, but this does not matter a long as it's possible to do it!
Does anyone know if there is such a thing as custom roms that support functionality such as Bluetooth mobile devices, GPS, DVD / CD / MP3 discs, DAB+ and rear view camera etc?
Where can I find this rom and installation instructions? I have searched online for hours, but so far I have only found one page containing broken links.
As I am a new member on this forum, I cannot share this link in this post. But the page title is "The AVIC development MOD", from around 2016 and all links are broken / not working.
Any information is highly appreciated!
Best regards,
The norwegian guy
You won´t find anything...
Custom ROM will not be shared in here. There is no community for it.
Nearly all Pioneer head units have a proprietary OS. It seems to be android based.
May be this helps: http://bestandroidtoroot.com/post/pioneer-car-navigation-avic-z710dab-jupiter

Hello. Still have not tried the link I was given by rigattoni, but I was wondering if anyone has any update on this?
I am now considering to buy a new head unit with Android OS. but this seems like a risk. Most of the ones I have seen are to me previously unknown Chinese brands and I do not trust any Pioneer head units with Android OS to work with Google maps and/or Waze amongst other apps!
- Is there any way to replace the OS of a Pioneer unit with Android OS with working standard Android apps and Google Play?
- If not; Are the Chinese head units with Android OS any good? Example brands are Erisin and Eonon, which seem to come with Android 10.
Thank you in advance!
Hi, have y'all seen this info/forum yet? It refers to information regarding development for the Pioneer head unit(s) OP was asking about. Edit: Going back over, I see OP specifically mentions this forum. Well thank you

Help in identifying my Android Head Unit

Hi All, first post,
1. I did a search on google and XDA for key info I obtained from the unit, no luck.
2. The unit resembles this unit - but mine is 10.1 Inch but the interface and apps are basically identical to this unit.
3. Also, unit is Android 10, which is quite old, if upgradeable, would it make a difference to the look and feel?
I tried using the supplier / installer but he is not forthcoming with info, not sure why so hoping someone can point me in the direction, the unit has a mold that fits my Toyota Rav4 2017.
The goal is, to find out how to update the bluetooth / phone app (it sucks) as a starting point.
finally, here are some pics of the unit pre-install and hardware info in settings.
Thanks in advance

Well... don´t even think that you would be able to upgrade Android to a newer one. It´s already the current actual Android version.
You really should blame the vendor that BT is a mess. That is nothing the forum can help with. Your MCU is special for Toyota and you won´t find a matching update for your special unit.
Go back to the seller and ask for an update otherwise you open a dispute on Alibaba. This is the one and only way to get them start working.
Sorry, but these special units with this MCU, that is not easy going.

Thanks for the info!!

Issues pairing Bluetooth devices

I have an Xtrons branded headunit running Android 10 (although they advertise it as 11?!) Ultimately I'm trying to work out what causes the limitations of being unable to pair certain devices with it. In particular Bluetooth gamepads/joypads/controllers.
I've tried several different brands and none will pair with the unit which is running stock firmware. I've spoken to their technical support who confirm that it is due to the Bluetooth controller not being designed / or being able to handle such devices.
I've looked in developer options and factory settings and neither has any immediately obvious things to change. I have tried disabling the onboard Bluetooth controller and connected a generic USB Bluetooth dongle but this wasn't recognised as I'm presuming the firmware doesn't contain the necessary drivers.
My old headunit (also Xtrons branded) was running Hal9k's Android 10 rom and Bluetooth controllers connect fine. Although, obviously we are talking about different hardware and non-stock firmware.
Other than trying 2.4ghz type controllers (which I am looking into already) does anyone have any knowledge that could help here?
Many thanks for any assistance.
Unfortunately, the forum crystal ball doesnt know what you unit is and from the hundreds of made up models and brands, the seller could be selling units of different types, from different factories, despite branding with the same model name.
There are are a small number of active members in these forums, you want to be posting in a way that helps those people help you, they're likely tired of answering the same questions for new users that join, get the answer and then leave.
Post screenshots from Android system information, including the MCU version when posting questions. Doing this will at least help others help you, or you might find the information has already been posted or discussed here, yourself.

That's a very sarcastic way of trying to point me in the right direction. I know how to search for answers and if I'd have found the one I was looking for I would have had no need to post this. Unfortunately there is no custom ROM currently available for my HU, but when I had my prev. one installed I would say I was fairly active on the Hal9K thread. I've certainly got no intention of cutting and leaving once I get a suitable response. Not sure who you are confusing me with here? Anyway, thanks for the one useful section of your response not designed to smack me down which advises to post info about the MCU. I shall do so. Thanks again.

There are no custom roms for any current Android head unit. The hal and other is a modded factory rom which fixes and introduces new bugs.
To get the best responses, provide the detail for you unit, like I said there are hundreds of different units and your xtrons is a made up brand and model which could be any number of factory devices.
