After resetting...voume buttons work to change volume. After a while, they either don't work or bog the system. I access stock recovery and factory resf...works for a while and starts acting up again. Any advice? I even odin'ed stock rom
I flashed a stock rom... accessed stock recovery and then factory reset. Works great now.

I used odin, then CWM 3, then flashed to Syndicate Frozen. It seemed to work fine...except that the phone seems sluggish and none of the soft keys or hardware keys work. When I press one, the phone vibrates a few times, then shows this android logo put on by syndicate, and seems to reset the OS. The touchscreen seems to work fine.
I don't know if this is an issue with the rom, cwm, or something I did wrong. Can anyone advice?
Bad flash. Wipe data and flash again, and if you continue to have problems, use Odin to go back to EB13. Still having problems? Format your SD card, redownload the ROM, and flash.
EDIT: HEYO! 1,000th post.
I'm having a major issue with my phone. I installed TWRP version ending .2 and been using roms with no issues. I also never had an issue with my GS3 in the past. In any event, I recently tried to install the FREEGS4 rom and it initially loads fine. However, when I rebooted, it froze at the Samsung Galaxy S4 logo screen. I tried formating data and reflash rom. It flashes fine and loads fine initially.. but when I reboot, it freezes at logo screen. I tried to flash another custom MDL rom and it loads fine initially but freezes at reboot.
I tried to ODIN back to stock MDC. It flashes fine but when it auto reboots, it freezes at Samsung Galaxy S4 logo screen. I tried to ODIN back to stock with MDL rom. Same issue.. The only way I can get the OS to load is if I install TWRP and I do a quick flash of a ROM. It will intially load the ROM fine but if I power off or reboot the phone, it will freeze on the Samsung Galaxy S4 Logo screen.
Does anyone what could be causing this and any recommendations on how to fix it?

Before flashing a new ROM, did you clear dalvik and cache?
Yes. I always do. I even tried formatting data. I also tried odin back to stock rom. I am using the phone now because it boots the first time after flashing a custom rom. I havent rebooted since but as soon as I do, it will freeze and I would need to re flash custom rom. Stock rom freezes too
Sent from my SPH-L720 using xda app-developers app
When you Odin back to stock did you do another factory reset after boot? You need to do 2 factory resets after boot also wipe system when flashing ROMs.
i have the same issue as you.
idk if this fixed it but i went back to the stock recovery and did a factory reset twice rebooted my phone then installed twrp. flashed freegs4 and now my os boots up with no issues.
Hi all....not a noob here, but nowhere near a dev, and I'm perplexed beyond reason here......
My phone was being all glitchy so I did a complete hard reset, flashed stock MDL ROM, flashed upgrade to MF9 (didn't want to wait for OTA), flashed cf autoroot then philz touch recovery and everything and was running great.
Then I went to flash CM10.2 and afterwards and didn't get a reboot, but didn't want to deal with the unrooting issue so I flashed a different kernel first (which I think may have been the problem.) I pulled the battery and attempted to reboot from being off. All hell breaks loose. It won't load no matter how I attempt a boot, (recovery, from "off") so I decided it may be best just to start the process over.
Odin flash back to stock MF9 thinking no biggie, then when I go to boot things get weird. No bootloop, but it takes awhile then boots but no "main screen" I have the status bar on the top, then when I go to shut down I can see the shut down menu, but nothing else. Blank face.
So....I'm totally lost at this point. I've tried stock kernel, stock ROMs, reboots galore, and I have no idea what component of the ROM is missing. I have no clue how to fix it!!!! Can someone more informed than I PLEASE help???
UPDATE - tried flashing crawjr's stock rooted odex - no dice. Still reboots through yellow logo to "blank" homescreen; I can hear touch sounds when I mess with the screen...it's like the ROM is running I just can't see it?
crawjr's ROM fixed after booting into recovery and factory reset. This can be deleted.
HELP! I've been using my LG G2 for around 3 months with mo problems at all. I'm rooted with Janjan's custom rom. This morning my phone froze, so i rebooted it. From then on i could not connect to my mobile network as well as Wifi networks. I can see the phone is also scanning the media files, and i cannot open any programs. The phone then restarts itself after about 20 seconds. If i turn the screen off, i cannot turn it back on.
I have already tried restoring to a backup i had on CWM, but the same thing happens.
Has anybody experienced this before? Any suggestions on what to do????
Thanks!
**Edit.
Was able to snap this pic before it rebooted on me again. The "Error" message, stays on even if i exit Settings.
Flash back to stock using this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476
But before you try to return to stock, make sure you completely wipe the device in CWM.

hey thanks for the reply. I've tried returning it to stock. Wiped cache and factory reset in CWM, and followed the tutorial to return to stock.
After the phone restarted, it showed stock boot animation and is totally stock now.
BUT the problem is still there. My phone continues to reset itself every 10-20 seconds, and still cannot connect to any networks.

Hmm, that is odd. Do you have a back up of the phone before you changed anything? i.e. a stock backup?
because it seem you may have wiped your EFS partition by accident.
No i don't have any backups, The only back up i had was a stable version of the ROM i was using. And it seems like when i reverted back to stock, all the files in the internal memory is erased as well.
Hello, so I got an s4 GT-I9505 that had a cracked screen so I fixed it.
Phone booted as it should and worked fine for few minutes, then things started to crash (statusbar, touch wiz home), it starts to lag and behave very weird so I decided to do factory reset - same stuff happened.
So I flashed CM12 everything works fine besides the fact I dont have sound.
So I flashed back to stock using odin and pit file, it boots to stock sometimes it has sound and sometimes it doesn't, also it crashes like it used to after few minutes and reboots to bootloop.
I flashed CM12 again so I can use the phone somehow, but whenever I go into the AudioFx app it crashes so do other apps that need sound either crash or lag.
What is the issue? I'd love to stick to stock rom but I cant use it as it keeps crashing.
How do I fix this problem it's important for me to have this phone working.
Did you do full wipe before flashing?and is the screen original or chinese?
Try a custom stock rom.

I don't really know, got it on ebay for 50 pounds. And I did a full wipe using the stock recovery.
Possible loose connection somewhere?
Flash twrp and then wipe all..make wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache, wipe system, wipe dalvik cache and wipe data.all these from advanced wipe.then turn off phone and put it in dowload mode.then flash stock rom using odin.this is the cleanest way to flash rom.maybe in system is something from cm and messes up with stock.as for the sound it may be from the screen.some chinese screens make phones lag, even not boot up.
I forgot to add that I get sound at the boot animation but after that no sound at all
I have installed costum rom F14 on the 4.4.2 android version. It makes the modified boot noise and the sound works for for a few minutes, only sometimes but.
Anybody?
