The concaving of a normal ole selfie gets annoying. Is this an aggravation for anyone else?
like the edges of a photo is concaved?

Today i experienced a strange problem with the Nexus 4 Camera. I took some pictures of a kid playing in the park. It was the day time around 1:30 PM and the weather was somewhat cloudy. The pictures in which the kid stood still were good but in which he was running or moving the showed strange ghosting kind of effect in them. I have attached the photographs here. Look at the face of the kid how it seems distorted. Does anybody else experienced a similar issue.
The camera settings were on Auto and HDR was enabled during the shoot.
Nothing wrong with the camera, just the setting. HDR mode shouldn't be used to capture motion. Only use it for still objects/scenery
Sent from my Nexus 4
The ghosting is normal as the phone actually takes 2 pictures at different exposure brackets. If your hand moves between shots then the algorithm will have a hard time merging them.
Yeah it's HDR that's causing it.
Right, that what i was thinking. Ghosting is quite different from the effect in these pictures. Must be HDR. i did not get time to experiment with turning it off. but i'll try again.
Thanx for the replies.
Just recently my front facing camera has gotten really bad and I do not know why. I am going to include two pictures I have taken. The first one is a perfectly normal picture and the second one is crappy as hell, blurry as can be and looks like a webcam from the 90s.
Both pictures quality is 1900x1080 just the quality is drastically different. I recently updated to 4.3 and right after that the quality of the camera was the same as the first picture... hours later I took a picture and its quality mimics that of the second one. Any ideas? It isn't focusing, obviously I'm not zooming. I don't know what the problem is.
Does anyone have the .apk for the camera i could possibly re-install??
Also here is a test i just did. I took a picture with snapchat and I saved the image, this picture is #3.
I then went into the Camera and took a picture again and this is its quality, blurry.
I am definitely starting to think that the camera is bugged.
I have noticed that noise removal kicks in on mine when taken in dim light. The ISO on the front camera is high and I find the pictures are noisy unless taken in bright light and noise removal is only applied if the light is dim enough. The 3rd picture looks quite a bit noisy and it looks like the automatic noise removal was applied to picture 2 and 4.

I have exactly the same problem with the blurred effect. Did you find the solution?
just tested out the front facing camera and was really surprised with the quality, or lack there of. My skin looks almost airbrushed and the photos look soft and somewhat grainy. Honestly the front cam on my gs4 has significantly more detail(compared them side-by-side under the same conditions). Does anyone else see the front cam this way or is there something up with mine? Maybe it's intentional to make people's faces look airbrushed? If so I'm not a fan :/
You need to turn off the "Beauty Face" option.
Oh wow. Now I feel like a noob. Thanks!
User error.
There's also a rear camera selfie mode that works ok (no flash though?). Also be sure to take the plastic off the rear camera. I could barely tell it was there so i would understand if people missed it.

anyone know how to turn off burst shot ? cant find it anywhere
grainy front facing camera and other things
I just got a brand new Galaxy Note 4 and my front facing camera is super grainy and blurry and its missing a ton of the cool settings the note 4 is famous for. I just found out that its because the phone is a really good Chinese knock off! It explains a lot of the major issues ive been having lately like the terrible lag,the crashing of the browser at every use, motion and gesture settings cant be activated and so many other things like it wont download certain apps or wont connect to certain networks. Just thought id let anyone know who has been having similar issues.
I just got my 6P today and overall it's a fantastic phone. Performance is great, beautiful display (nice and bright), loud speakers - but when I opened Snapchat to record a video, I noticed the scene warped a bit when I was moving the camera. I then opened the camera app and noticed the same thing. It stuttered a bit too, but the bottom part kind of warped like a gold-fish eye effect.
Anyone else experience this?

It is a side effect of the EIS. It keeps the video smooth but gives a "jello" like effect sometimes. I am assuming Google plans to tweak the stabilization in the future to reduce this effect.

Like someone else mentioned, this is what EIS does. Basically it crops the video slightly to help compensate for shake and jitters. It's a good feature but I wish it was possible to disable it. I don't like how it crops videos in snapchat.
I noticed this the other day, when I zoom in a lot using either the ZTE camera, or Google camera, my subject will slowly drift up the screen for a little bit. If I move, it will drift again as it refocuses.
Anyone else notice this?
